1.
It's Wednesday at 7am.
I am standing in front of the mirror attached to my wide grey-ish wardrobe.
"Let's go."
After putting on my shoes and jacket, I grab my bag to leave the house.
Not without a big sigh of course.
Yes.
School.
Damn it.
Today is one of those days where everything goes wrong... bad days.
On my way, I twist my ankle a million times and my whole left leg is filled with pain.
Finally, I arrive at the building which people tend to call school.
After walking or rather suffering upstairs to have a look at the electric board, where the cancelled and replaced lessons are published, I transform to the most pissed person in the universe.
"Are you kidding me? I could have gotten two hours worth of extra sleep!", I hiss to myself.
Of course I got weird looks from other students for talking to myself.
Like this is a bad or abnormal thing to do.
The audacity to judge someone else than themselves.
Especially a tired Me.
Anyway.
"I hurried up,
to be on time at school
and twisted my ankle several times
just to be informed that
the first two lessons are cancelled.
GREAT", I thought with clenched teeth.
If this board was not something electronic I would have already smashed or threw it at those students, who gave me weird looks earlier.
Maybe I would still do it...
If it weren't for my sleepy state.
I sigh.
'"It wouldn't change a thing... Well it could lead to detention but that's not of importance right now."
Nevermind then.
I enter the school's tiny canteen.
The faded orange colouring of the walls give a rather run down impression.
The wooden table and chairs look like they might not be able to carry a person's weight anymore.
I snap one chair which I hide everytime behind that old plant at the wall while heading to my usual spot in the corner.
This chair is the only one that doesn't sound like a dying seal when sitting on it.
I roll my scarf into a pillow like shape and put it on the chair to sit on it.
From this spot I have everything in view but at the same time I am hidden.
The blessing of corners.
After sitting down on the old wooden chair I start to collect myself.
People avoid me since I am - as they say - too weird for them.
Okay, yes, I love math and I am being honest to people.
Always.
And that's it.
They call me mean if I tell them the direct truth they don't want to hear.
These people aren't worth any headaches, that's why I am happy with it.
I honestly don't understand what's weird about being myself.
In fact, I am rather happy and kind of proud to say that I like me being myself.
And that's a big step for an introvert like me.
In search to find something useful to pass the time with, I start rummaging in my bag.
Proudly I pull out the book I bought yesterday.
Mystics
I remove the protective foil from the black book without hesitation and begin to read about the manlike fantasy characters, their way of life and the dealing with the enemies.
Before I noticed it, I was completely lost in the new world the book introduced me in to.
I freeze.
"What the... How... How even?"
I am confused.
A page is missing.
I can blatantly obvious spot how it has been ripped out.
A frown appears on my face.
"What...?"
I am confused and stare at the book in disbelief.
I bought this yesterday and left it until today in my bag.
And there was a protective foil on the book.
I caress the remains of the place of the ripped paper... or rather what was left of it.
"Pretty mysterious. Well the book itself is called Mystics why am I surprised."
I couldn't help it but chuckle.
But just as quick appeared a frowned expression on my face.
"Maybe this is some kind of production fault", I think in disbelief.
I am sad about it, of course.
Books and reading are my passion if you could call it that.
They don't deserve to suffer like that.
Since I see them like my friends, I am having a hard time processing the situation I am holding in my hands at the moment.
Now even more pissed, I let out a groan.
"Great, how shall I rea-" The school bell interrupts my trace of thoughts.
Surprised, I stare at the clock.
"Time flew by pretty quick...", I think raising my eyebrows.
Sighing I close my eyes.
"Lesson time"
***
It's dark outside, nearly 7pm and I am back home.
After having dinner with the family and clearing the table we all sit together in the living room watching movies.
Since I don't like to watch TV I decide to go in my room and make myself ready for bed.
I don't like the thought of it being together in one room just to stare at that electric device instead of interacting or communicating with each other.
Laying in my bed I grab the book to continue reading. I remember that a page was ripped out when I opened that very page...
"Heck no", I mentally scream at myself.
My mind is literally freaking out right now.
The ripped out page is in the book again.
It looks like someone ripped it out, stroked it straight again before putting it back in it's place.
That piece of paper is completely crinkled. And the best thing is, there is no sign that this page has ever been ripped out once off the book.
And as this is not weird enough.
Something is written in the middle of the page and it does not fit with the story of the black book itself:
Hidden Seal in the Mist
Withal Organization
Z-Y-7-7
Black Clawd
That might be handy but be careful!
I turn to the next page.
BLANK
Nothing but blank pages greet me.
No weird nonsense making sentences.
No hint what this could have meant.
No, just blank pages.
More than half of the book is filled with this nothingness.
"I am pretty sure there was something written this morning. How is it gone now? Did I go senile?"
I close the book.
This is definitely too much for my brain.
Thank goodness all my lessons for tomorrow are canceled so that I don't have school tomorrow and I can sleep all day.
I switch off the light and with a deep sigh I fall into a dreamless sleep.
