Unattainable Colors
Have you ever stood and looked at nature and loved what you saw. Then you took a picture to preserve the moment before it ended, only to find the picture didn't capture the beauty at all.
Known Colors are
The ones listed in books
Identified in looks
Now name them
Red, yellow, orange
Green, blue, violet
Or purple for the little ones
The ones who dance
Under the sun
Amongst the colors that change
Away from paint
Away from pens
Away from paper and photos
There's a whole new spectrum
Past the purple
The lights and darks
Tints of white
And tones of gray
Shades of black
The colors we name
The ones we make
Or remake
Easy enough, the primary
The secondary
And tertiary just for fun
The list has only just begun
Red is a color, we make with a rose
Orange with the rhymless fruit
Yellow with daffodils
Lemons too
But what about sunshine
And golden hues
Paint a gold ring
No shine exists
Paint a silver thing
No glare
Paint a sunset
Where is the glow?
A beautiful scene of meadows, leaves
But the trueness of green is not there
Where is the sparkle
In ocean so blue
The ethereal tint of the moon
A throated lily
Of violet pure
It's beauty fades on a loom
Red, orange, yellow
Green, blue, violet
Rose, fall, sun
Tree, sea, sky
Bright in the light
Dark in the night
Unattainable as heaven so high
There's soft poofy cloud
Not cotton candy sky
Dark and deep sea
Not taffy blue ocean
Whispery leaves
No green or dark brown
For colors aren't sound
Unexplainable names for what we know
A moment captured is not what it is
The photos can't see
Our tech can't win
Against the spectrum of color
From our God above
He created for us new hues
Beautiful and pure as
His love
