Chapter 29
Nervousness and excitement, these two emotions are shadowing my all other emotions. I am nervous because I want to make this day memorable for her, as I have promised her while the reason behind my excitement is simple because I will be able to spend my entire day with her.
People might think I am crazy to feel over joyed just because I will get a chance to spend my day with someone who I almost meet daily, but when you have experienced how people change then you truly and wholeheartedly value the person who has helped you through your tough time.
Lina is that person who has become a ray of light in my otherwise dark life, she held my hand and helped me to show the world has not ended for me.
Although, a part of me is still restless because of her. I am not blind that I can't see that something is not right in her life, which she is trying to hide from me. The sadness which was present in her eyes when I asked about the person who hit her, made me think that whoever it was... it was someone close to her.
But how can someone who knows her can behave with her in such a way? My blood boils when I think about the person who has hurt her, I don't even know what I will do with them if I will get my hands on them.
However, today I have decided that I will not try to think about any of that. Today I will make sure her lips are decorated with a real smile... the smile which shows happiness, not the one which masks her all emotions.
My watch vibrates as I read my name appearing on it, raising my head I look at Caleb running towards me while carrying a picnic basket in his hand.
"I am not taking you with me," Crossing my arms, I shake my head as soon as he stops in front of me.
Dad has lent me his bowrider to take Lina out for a ride as I have told him she loves water and I am planning some water activities which I think she will love.
Honestly, I was surprised that he actually offered me to take his boat, as he never lets anyone touch his most prized possession. I clearly remember once I had taken Jessica on it as she wanted a boat date or something, dad almost set my ass on fire for touching his boat. So now when he himself suggested that I should take Lina for a ride, I was completely taken aback.
"I don't even want to come with you." He scowls at me, "I don't want Lina to .... you with me." He makes a face.
"What you don't want Lina to do?" I ask as I can't get the word which he has said.
"Compare, I don't want her to compare you with me," This time he signs along with speaking.
"I am way cooler than you." He smiles smugly, then he continues to sign, "If I were you she would already have been my girlfriend. Maybe after your date, she will understand that you suck, so then I have a better chance to impress her."
He immediately ducks down, when I try to smack his head.
"You sound like a creep, you know that?" I arch my eyebrow at my younger brother, "She is older than you."
"So what, if she's older?" He shrugs, "I like her and I don't give damn about anything else."
I truly envy my brother's self-confidence, at the same time, I wish nothing bad happens in his life which rattles his confidence. Just like mine has been snatched from me once.
"What are you doing here?" I throw my arm around his shoulder, and then point at the picnic basket, "And what's inside this?"
"I have heard you talking to dad, so I thought I should help you a little in preparing everything." He picks up the basket and hands it to me, after he finishes signing, "I have packed all the snacks which Lina likes."
"Thanks, buddy." Smiling at him, I ruffle his hair then wrapping my arm around his neck I pull him to my side in a half-hug.
"No need to say thanks, even though I know you are a loser but I don't want others to know this as well. So I will always keep this a secret by helping you." He makes a face trying to hide his smile.

Checking my watch probably for the tenth time in half-hour, I look around searching for Lina. I have asked her to meet me at my shop as from there I will take her to the dock. But she has not come until now and I have been waiting for her for more than an hour. Honestly, now I am starting to lose hope that she will come.
However, suddenly, my eyes land on her instantly making me sigh in relief.
She smiles as she waves her hand when she sees me, and walks towards me.
"Where were you?" I raise my eyebrows, "I have been waiting for more than an hour."
"Why?" She gives me a confused look, "You have told me to meet you here at ten o'clock then why you showed up here early?"
My eyes widen when I realize that in my excitement, I have forgot at what time I have called her and came here one hour earlier.
"Sorry, I just-" I trail off with a shrug trying to hide my embarrassment.
"You are cute." She laughs and pinches my cheeks making me slap her hands away as I attempt to cover my embarrassment with a glare which makes her laugh even more.
Our date hasn't even started and you are already making yourself look like a fool.
"So, what is the plan?" She raises her eyebrow while pulling up the strap of her small backpack.
"You will know soon," I smirk because I know she is someone who gets really curious, and not sharing my plan with her will definitely drive her insane with suspense.
"Jason." She frowns as she holds my arm, "Please tell me, what are we going to do?" She pouts coming up with her most innocent expression.
"This will not be going to work on me." I shake my head with a chuckle as I point at her face.
Abruptly, her expression changes as a wicked smile replace her earlier innocent expression while she looks at me.
"So what is going to work for you?" She arches her eyebrow while her lips twisting in a mischievous smile.
"What are you willing to do for me?" My own lips turn up in a smirk playing along with her.
"I can do something which can make you go crazy." She speaks slowly as my eyes focused on the movement of her lips reading each word and sensing the challenge behind them.
Bring it on, Lina. Two of us can play this game.
"Really?" Tilting my head slightly to the side, I glance at her.
"Yes, really." She nods her head, as she moves towards me.
"Why don't you show me how you can make me go crazy?" I don't move, neither I break my eye contact with her as she gets a little more closer to me.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" She runs her fingers up my arm.
"Don't underestimate me." Startling her, I grab her hand as I take a step closer to her.
She slightly needs to raise her head to look at me, while I am loving this height distance between us, as there is hardly any distance between our bodies.
"Don't tell me that I haven't warned you before." Holding my hands in hers she signs something which I find really endearing.
Slowly, she pulls her hands away from mine while my hand suddenly feels empty without hers. Her stare never wavers from mine and the way her gaze is holding mine I don't think I can look away either.
She loosely wraps her arms around my neck, then abruptly her hands go into my hair as she roughly ruffles my hair completely messing them up.
"Lina!" I growl as she starts laughing while running away from me.
"You just wait and watch what I am going to do with you once I will get my hands on you." I take off behind her, as she continues to laugh while running.
The carefree laugh on her face makes it impossible for me to stay annoyed at her, as I try to keep my face straight trying to hold back my smile which is threatening to appear on my face. However, this doesn't mean she will not be punished for this and I already have a perfect punishment in my mind for her.
Lina, you started it and I am going to be the one who will end this.
