2nd POV

Something about waking up alive on your bed was a little refreshing. You turned to your nighstand and grabbed your phone, eyes wide at the text notification from Suna.

You set # as s.rin

s.rin
wow, s.rin
yeah 30 got it

s.rin set you as y/n (:

You smiled at the label he set you as. A few stretching and fixing bed later, you grabbed some clothing and hopped in the shower. You already smell the faint aroma of your Mom's cooking.

She's probably cooking miso, fried tofu, and pickled kimchi.

A smile presented itself on your lips as you applied moisturizer, sunscreen, and lipbalm after getting dressed in your uniform with your tracksuit in bag. You frowned a little, you know you changed your style a bit during your 1st year but you still can't get over how short your skirt was. A shrug later you decided to wear mid-thigh socks as you went down the stairs with your blazer in hand.

"Morning, Mom," You pecked her on the cheek as you began eating your food and prepared the lunch bag inside your bag.

6:32 AM. I have to go outside and meet Suna.

"I'm off to school," Your Mom smiled as you pecked her on the cheek again, "Stay safe at work."

"Will do!"

You went outside with a huff and smiled when you saw Suna waiting, crouched and petting a stray cat.

"Morning."

He looked up to you and patted both his hands and nodded, "Morning. Let's go?"

You nodded as well and started to walk beside him to the bus while you wore the blazer.

Suna sweatdropped when you both sat down. Your thighs were showing too much.

Your eyes widened when he took his blazer off and placed them on top of your lap, covering your thighs. A smile made its way on your mouth as you thanked him.

The ride was silent but comfortable as the scene outside the window flashed its fresh trees swaying with the wind. You played with your fingers that rested on your lap as you went over your thoughts.

18 days left.. I hope things stay progressive as they are right now. It has been going well so far.

You smiled a little and turned to Suna who you caught staring. He looked away subtly and started to press on his phone.

"What were you smiling about?" He asked, his eyes not leaving his phone.

You shrugged, "I just have a feeling this day is going to be great."

"Wow, how optimistic," He blankly said and turned his phone off to get off of the bus as you both reached your destination.

You returned his blazer shortly after and walked with him beside you as he wore it again.

"It's 6:57 AM, you think they're all there?" You asked and he hummed in response.

The gymnasium floor was shining with sunlight as you spotted the members stretching. The twins waved to you and Suna who parted ways with you to get changed in his practice clothes. You smiled at them as you sat down on a bench at the side. There was no need for you to monitor them this morning, they were just going over some basic stretching, receives, tosses, and spiking.

While watching them after Suna joined in, you decided to use your phone and skim over some social media apps. There was a post on twitter about your favorite gamer who anonymously goes by 'kzme.knm4'. You are a fan of video games yourself and you have been an audience of him for a while now, though he just posts some game clips and complaints about game and wifi providers.

"What's that?"

You slightly jumped as you eyed Suna who was drinking from his water bottle, never leaving your eyes he did so. He raised a brow when you showed him your phone that showed the twitter feed, a funny video about a japanese mascot doing random things.

He finished drinking and sat down beside you in silence.

"What's up?" You turned your phone off as you asked him.

He pursed his lips and raked his hair from the front to back, "Nothing."

You slowly nodded and watched the court.

"I think I forgot to do my Maths."

He looked at you when you whipped your head to him, "Seriously? That Maths teacher is scary. Need a hand?"

"Nah, it's alright," The brunette shook his head as he released a slow sigh.

You chuckled, "It's fine, you know."

"What is?"

"Asking me for help, academically as well," You said as you gaze into his eyes.

Suna looked away in silence.

"Come on, don't be shy. I don't mind," You jokingly hit his hand with your knuckles.

He flinched.

Worry washed your eyes again, "Are you okay? Sorry. What's that?"

Suna dismissed it by hiding his finger to the opposite side, "It's nothing."

"Let me see, please?"

He gave in and showed you his finger that had a cut.

"Mom was resting from working too much. I woke up early so I can cook for us but I uh cut my finger while preparing some breakfast."

His eyes widened when you brought his finger to your lips and kissed it.

"Uh?" He raised a brow in confusion.

You quickly removed your hands from his as you blushed, "Sorry. Habit.. I used to peck on my finger when I cut it during cooking since I was a kid."

He snickered, "What, like you thought it would magically heal the boo-boo?"

You giggled, "I guess so."

Suna thought you were cute and hid his smile.

"Then I guess this is going away fast, then. Thanks," He teased.

God, he's pretty.

You shook your head with a smile and looked back at the court. Your gaze met Atsumu's eyes, something flashed in them as he looked away to talk to Osamu again.

You hummed and check the time on your phone.

"We still have time after practice. Let's do your homework."

Suna sighed and shrugged, "Fine. Wait for me."

You nodded as he went back to the court and finished things up with the team.

"Dude, he didn't even teach this," Suna rolled his eyes and spun his pen with his fingers.

You rolled your eyes, "I know right? Sometimes he makes us do homework that he hasn't even taught yet. It's annoying. But I studied that in advance so don't worry. See here? The..."

You taught him about the last part while jotting down the solutions with notes you put on his notebook so he can look over it again after.

He stared at you while you taught him and got caught when you raised your head. You grinned, "Hey, focus."

"Right, my bad," He cleared his throat and furrowed his brows while he kept up as you taught him.

Christ. What am I even doing? Letting her teach me Maths.. embarrassing. Suna thought, disappointed at himself.

He didn't have much luxury of time to study much in his house since he'd always be by his mother side to take care of her. Suna's mom is always overworked. His dad was overseas, probably messing around with some women. They were divorced but his dad is still supporting them by law. He's still his son, after all.

Suna's mom would always rant to him about how she hated his dad. He can't blame her though – he thought he was an ass to split up simply because his son didn't want to be like him. More like him, whose mind is only focused in business and neglectful of his family. Suna didn't want to be some sheep to raise just to slaughter with loads of work he didn't even gain any interest in. He deeply cares about his mom and would do anything to keep her alive.

Sometimes he thinks that she's better off with no son to support, so she can stop overworking herself. She didn't want to constantly use his dad's financial support because of her hatred towards him. Suna's mom was saving the money for his college. Until then, she's supporting them both by her own money until she's ready to cut him off after Suna graduates highschool.

At the same time he didn't want to leave his mother's side. He knew she'd be devastated if she knew her son killed himself.

Still, it has always been lonely for him. He was anti-social as it is, what more than a home that feels empty?

It has been, unbeknownst to him, gnawing at his mind. Loneliness, the feeling of hopelessness. Along with students who kept having beef with him that he doesn't even know why or how. He doesn't even know what will be of him in the future. Life has just been.. a river for him. He doesn't know when that river will turn the wrong way and just freeze for eternity.

"And.. done. You understand it all right?" You asked the dark haired boy.

"Yeah, surprisingly. Thanks, L/n," He nodded and fixed his stuff as you did as well.

You smiled, "Always welcome. It's 7:48 AM, we should go to classes now or we'll be late."

Suna grabbed his bag and waited for you to follow him as you both walked in the hallways.

You ignored the stares and turned to Suna who was calm. He's probably used to it by now, him and the twins. Every girl they're with is always an issue in this god forsaken school – whether they're just friends with them or not.

He noticed you staring but you looked away in time, or at least you thought.

"You always stare at me like I'm going away anytime soon," He chuckled, "Chill out."

You nervously laughed, "Yeah, no. Sorry."

Both of you went to your respective classrooms and focused on lectures.

Suna's mind threatened him to overthink again.

He thought about the impact his dad left on him the moment he stepped out of their home. It was an abandonment that he grew to hate, yet extremely fear.

It has always been hard for him to make friends since he was a kid. Maybe it's because of his attitude, or his weak sense of keeping attachments secure. He'd always think that they'd leave them if time passed by longer or too long.

Suna chose to focus on volleyball to take his mind off of it until he grew a liking on the sport. So much to the point where the girl he used to court during middle school grew tired of him. Like his dad. He grew tired of his mom because she was always working on other stuff instead of just settling in and helping him with his work. The parents were just two couple who misunderstood each other.

He always hated himself after the girl broke it off with him. That fueled his attachment issues even more, because along with the girl, his friends during then stayed away from him. Hell, he was lucky that he has the twins now, and you.

And you. He never thought you'd develop a significant role in his life. The boy didn't even expect it – you were just a manager to him since 1st year.

It doesn't go unnoticed by him how he feels fear every time you and him hangout. He'd feel his mind tug at him, telling him to pull away before he gets even more attached.

Because he knew if he was, you'd leave him, too. It was a pain that he doesn't want to confront soon or ever again.
