2nd POV
—
Classes were like the usual.
Boring.
Dull.
A free sleeping pill.
It was your 4th day already, and you have made little to no progress. Suna keeps shutting you out, you were running out of ideas mostly because of panic and nervousness, but fear of losing him again and failing stands at the very top of the weight that's been burdening you with your plans.
You were spinning a pen softly with your fingers, eyes slightly drooping and blurry. A sign that you're almost asleep.
"Ah, Ms. L/n knows the answer to this. Am I right?"
You stopped and quietly muttered a curse. Sitting up, you lazily turned to your teacher who wore a fake smile, pointing to an equation on the board to which you didn't listen to.
"Oh, uh," You cleared your throat and looked at the equation, "The ratio of the rate constants is a constant."
A shocked looked crossed over his face before he continued discussing after saying 'good' like nothing happened.
You groaned lightly under your breath. Accidentally side eye-ing someone, your brow raised.
It was the guy from yesterday. The guy who displayed stalker vibes.
You shuddered a bit before leaning back on your seat, arms crossed.
The guy was satisfied with the view.
Your jaw, your serious expression that displayed laziness, but coolness regardless, your front that was emphasized thanks to your crossed arms.
He loved it all.
Sickeningly.
You just ignored it until classes ended.
•
"Y/n!! Can you come help me put this in the office?"
A thin line formed on your face as a teacher called out to you while you were about to reach Suna in the hallways.
Forcing a smile, you said, "Ah, alright."
You looked back at the dark brunette one last time before carrying the pile of folders to the office with the busy teacher ticking marks on papers.
"Oh! Please clean the classroom before you go home as well!" The teacher rushed, picking up a call while marking another set of papers again.
You raised a brow.
He stopped and lightly gulped.
"Is something wrong . . . ?" He nervously asked.
You put on a small, blank smile.
"Sir, did you forget I manage a club full of student-athletes?"
He sighed heavily, "I'm pretty sure you're not needed, Ms. L/n. Besides, they probably have it handled already so no need. No available students are there right now to clean."
Your fingers of your right hand twitched.
"I'm pretty sure there are," You hid your hands at the back as you refrain your anger from bubbling even more.
"Look, L/n. I have a lot of deadlines that spontaneously popped in my calendar sheet in faculty, and a note saying you're the only student who's available for cleaning duty so please, go now. Go. I'm too stressed out for this," He pinched the bridge of his nose and continued doing work.
Leaning on the wall for a bit, you sighed and recited the Japanese seasons in your head to calm yourself down.
"Fine. Dammit," You quietly muttered under your breath and went back to the classroom.
You didn't fail to notice someone's eye on your back.
Entering the classroom was boring, yet you felt butterflies in your stomach. But it wasn't something romantic or anything.
In fact, it felt bad.
Like something wrong was going to happen.
Of course you don't believe in that kind of stuff.
Grabbing the blackboard cleaner, you wiped out all the chalk.
Idiot.
Eyes closed in reflex from anger, hoping it would subside.
It was not that hard. Cleaning.
In fact, you're okay with it. If it weren't for you feeling annoyed it would've been lighter and easier.
The club always knew both you and Kita were really good at cleaning. Almost never leaving a spot, making it really sanitary and neat for the players and for the coaches as well.
Sometimes they'd tease you both with your 'rituals'.
Kita, of course, never gets it. Or refuses to.
And you, well . . . you just ignored it. You were too lazy to retort back and too empty of care to think of one.
Your thoughts were getting boring.
But then it switched to Suna.
You mentally saw his face, then it looked like it glitched to the past world you've been. Where his face was blurred, you couldn't make out anything.
Just him, but felt lacking.
But it was still him.
"Oh, Suna . . ," You whispered under your breath as past memories flashed in your head bringing mild pain near your core.
I completely forgot about training after classes.
"Time to go, time to go," You muttered as you finished the last bit of cleaning.
Running out of the classroom, completely ignoring that guy, you made your way to the gym at a hurried pace.
You huffed before opening the gym doors, but to your surprise - no one was there anymore.
The lights were off, the whole gym was dark if it weren't for the sun rays illuminating parts of the polished, neat floor.
It was a warm scene, but definitely disappointing.
You were about to exit school after closing the doors but a blonde haired guy jumped in front of you wearing a big grin, "Boo!"
No hesitation was poured when you immediately swung your hand to slap his face off.
In addition to that, you were completely emotionless.
Probably because you saw it coming, or you just didn't really feel like giving him the satisfaction from your reaction. Because, well, you just didn't feel like it.
"Ow," He whined and pouted, reaching to his red hand-printed cheek and looking at Osamu for help who watched with no interest but an amused smirk planted on his lazy lips when he saw the pain in his brother's eyes.
"Dammit, you were supposed to help me out!" Atsumu complained to his little brother who just rolled his eyes.
"In what? Stupidity? No thanks - I'm the twin blessed with discipline while you're not-"
"Alright, stop it. Please," You closed your eyes and looked back at them.
You looked around and noticed Suna wasn't around them like usual. He'd normally stick with the twins (painfully) on the way home because the three of them including you, have the same transportation option and it'd be better to stick around after the day.
For the bond between the three of them (and of course you) to get stronger.
Kita's words.
"Where's Suna?" You asked both of them.
They simultaneously shrugged.
"Said he's got things to do and he hurried out of practice when coach dismissed us early, I don't know why," Osamu said.
"Oh . . . .," Was all you could say.
As usual, you missed the jealous look in Atsumu's eyes when your eyes fell at the news of Suna not able to join you on the way home.
" . . . Erm, actually-" Osamu placed a hand on Atsumu's shoulder and lazily smiled at you with his eyes shut close.
"We're just talking about that cafe near the school. Wanna go with us? Our treat, by the way."
"Oh, we were?" Atsumu's mood was lifted but his raised head was immediately smacked down by Osamu's palm.
"Yyyyyyyeaaaa we were. Now come on, we're gonna miss the bus on the way to it," Osamu hurriedly suggests after secretly pinching his brother's bicep.
You were about to follow but you noticed Suna's walking figure around the corner of the school, exiting with a wet upper body, from hair to the hem of his uniform was drenched in water.
"Ah, actually you know what?" You turned to the twins who shared a confused look, "Cafe sounds amazing, but please order takeout for me? Warm milk, thank you!"
"Wait where are you going?" Atsumu called over to you when you walked away.
"Homework and research!" You yelled and didn't turn anymore.
After making sure they disappeared out of sight, you stealthily followed Suna and tapped his back. He twitched and almost jumped back from it, a scared look momentarily flashing in his eyes before going away as fast as it came when you looked at him from head to toe.
"Suna, are you oka-"
"Yeah. Very. Why'd you ask?" He hurriedly said and tried to walk away but you grabbed his wet sleeve.
You sighed and pulled him back to the school.
He just watched you move and drag him along. He didn't look like he carried even a small amount of energy since he was submissive in you just taking him along where you want to be.
You sat him down at the chair in front of the lockers. Suna watched as you took a very large black hoodie from it, and a few towels as well.
"Take off your blouse and blazer, wear this instead," You simply said.
He raised a brow, "What? No."
"Suna, I'm ordering you," You didn't break eye contact.
He slowly backed away and averted his eyes, "You don't have the right to order me."
"You're right, I don't. And? What does it change? I'm helping you out and that's what matters the most at the end of the day," You said and just watched as he gave in.
He just didn't really have the energy to fight back.
Suna was too drained.
And took too long to refrain himself from shivering.
"Why did you even get drenched in water?" You gently asked as you watched him do what you told him to.
"Nothing," He muttered.
"Suna, please."
He just closed his eyes and looked back at your concerned ones.
"Um . . . , " He cleared his throat and stopped himself from staring too much, "I got into a fight earlier? Not that big of a deal . ."
"Suna-"
"I'm not . . done yet," He sighs and rubbed his hands on his tired face.
"As I said not big of a deal . . until they," He breathed in.
"Ah it's really no big trouble," He kept sighing, pumping out energy just to satisfy your curiosity even though he's feeling really heavy and exhausted.
You understood right away.
"Right, alright. Come on, let's get you home," You carefully said as you folded his wet uniform with ease and put them inside your locker.
He followed you, still slightly shivering from the cold.
The walk to the train station was quiet, but you didn't feel awkward. Suna didn't feel awkward - he was too busy feeling cold.
You remembered that Suna's house was just a decent amount of blocks away from yours.
Suna was noticeably drifting off to sleep.
From the corner of your eye, you could see his head bobbing up and down, width increasing every time he did so.
Sadly you couldn't let him sleep on your shoulder a bit longer that time. You were already near the street.
Suna barely made it out of the vehicle with balance. You seriously didn't like witnessing him go through these kinds of stuff. What more is he going through in their household?
. . . I can't rush. I have time - limited, but it's still time in need of process I need to fill and success I need to achieve.
Before separating ways, you, fortunately, found your voice to speak.
"Suna."
He sighed quietly and turned to look at you over his shoulder.
You gave him a small, gentle smile.
"Eat, hydrate, and get some well-deserved sleep. See you tomorrow, okay?"
He just nodded slowly and continued to walk on the way to his house again.
Completely forgetting about the takeout the twins were supposed to give you as you receive them, you just entered your house with a tired sigh the moment you reached the territory.
I hope this is going well.
Because I really don't know what I'd do to myself or to anything if I failed.
