2nd POV
—
"Oiii, Suna!"
The dark brunette sighed in annoyance and turned to Atsumu with a bored look.
"What could you possibly want?" He sighed again, putting his notebooks in his bag before slinging it over his shoulder after zipping it close.
The blonde grinned teasingly and walked beside him out the classroom, where a lot of people staring at them both as if they were celebrities.
Atsumu smoothly dodged a girl who purposely stood close to him and side eyed Suna, "You look down these past few days. What's wrong, dude? You know we're just here to listen in case you need to let out whatever negative things you're feeling."
He shook his head, "Why? You're weird."
"No I'm not. I'm just worried. Dude, I'm genuinely worried. I'm concerned for you," Atsumu frowned and sped up when Suna attempted to walk away faster.
Suna's jaw tightened and he remained as calm as he could.
"I don't need you worrying about me."
"What? Dude, hey, listen—"
He gripped Suna's shoulder and made him turn to look at him.
"I'm not just your teammate, Suna. I'm also your friend. Don't you get that?" Atsumu sighed when Suna just looked away with a blank face, "I know I mess around a lot, I know I may be insensitive sometimes and always wanting things to go my way, but—"
"No cap."
"—let me finish. As I said, I'm those kinds of things. But I'm not empty of empathy. Suna, we're worried about you. The whole team is. The coach, some teachers, some students," The blonde looked away and softly said, "Y/n."
Suna's eyes almost widened when he saw a suspicious emotion flash over Atsumu's eyes when he mentioned your name.
A slightly long silence of just the both of them in the middle of a now empty hallway. No one spoke, no one moved an inch. Tension was slightly growing.
Until he started to walk away, again.
"No need."
Atsumu slightly stumbled on his feet and walked by his side, carrying a sincere look of worry when he looked at him while walking.
"Why?"
"Because I'm fine."
One look at Suna, whether observant or dense, you could tell that he was anything but fine.
The omelette head stopped walking leaving Suna to walk ahead.
Will he drop it now? Good. The dark brunette almost sighed in relief but Atsumu went to grab his arm.
Not until you almost bumped into Suna when you took a sharp turn from the hallway.
"Shit!" You cursed and lost balance backwards.
Atsumu, thank his speed and reflexes, caught your waist before you fell on your behind.
"Y/n, you need to be careful!" He said with furrowed brows and a slightly stern voice.
Suna wasn't able to do something but stare at you and Atsumu converse with one another, scolding and all that.
He felt a tiny sensation in his chest when he saw how the blonde fixed your blazer on the front.
He scoffed silently and started to walk away again, "Careful. Not every time Atsumu's there to catch you."
You had a confused look on your face, staring at Suna's back as he walked away.
"Wait," You attempted to walk after him, "Suna-"
"Y/n."
You looked at your arm where Atsumu's hand was gently enclosed to, and then up to his eyes.
He slightly frowned and looked back at Suna's figure getting smaller and smaller the farther he walks away.
"Let's... let him be for a while."
"But—"
"It will be alright. He'll talk when he wants to," He gave you a smile and ruffled your hair— which you frowned to— before walking to the gym for practice.
"Hopefully," Atsumu silently said under his breath.
•
Practice was the same as usual.
Though Suna had been awfully quiet a lot these days. Usually he'd take on every opportunity to tease Kita, or maybe even the twins without actually getting involved in their chaos.
But lately.... he's been awfully quiet.
Really, really quiet.
He was not like this before.
You need to find out what problems he's going through, and find a solution for it quick.
Until it's too late.
"Coach, water break," You whispered to coach and making a 'T' with both your hands.
He raised a brow but nodded anyway. The whistle blew as he called the players for a water break.
Atsumu was about to walk to you with a smile on his lips, but stopped when you hurriedly approached Suna instead.
His smile faltered as he just watched from afar. Eyes unblinking and face blank.
He noticed how soft your eyes are when you're looking at Suna.
All the time.
"Oi, Kita-san is calling for us," Osamu said as he threw a water bottle at the back of his twin's head.
His head bopped forward and the bottle fell on the ground, "What the hell was that for??"
"To snap you off of your trance. Always happens when you're looking at Y/n. Very annoying, might I add," The silver head scoffed and turned to where Atsumu was staring at.
Eventually he as well, stopped and got pulled in a trance.
No, not because of Y/n.
But because of the male with you.
His eyes softened as his shoulders relaxed, just taking in Suna's side profile and how he was silent as you talked to him. Every move he makes sends him nervousness.
Atsumu scoffed and kicked the water bottle up, it hitting Osamu's face.
"Look who's caught in a trance now. You and your little crush on Suna," Atsumu sighed and jogged to where Kita was standing.
Osamu spared a last look at you and Suna before following his twin.
You frowned when he looked away and continued to drink the water bottle you had given him.
"Suna.... work with me here. I just need to know what's bothering you lately," You silently inhaled, "B-Because I'm your... manager and all—"
"Well, manager. You leaving me alone will prevent me from having a migraine. I'd prefer that, please," He coldly said and turned to look at you in the eyes.
Suna stopped breathing when he saw the hurt in your eyes.
He looked away before he could falter at the sight of it.
Your eyes, almost everyone loves it.
Expressive, heart felt, glistening, sparkling, magical. Open.
Though it has downsides, and the two of those are: You are easily vulnerable to read, and you're going to have a hard time lying when needed. Because your eyes says it all.
And that's what can be slightly dangerous for anyone as well. Your eyes when it flashes hurt— makes anyone who sees it feel like it's all their fault without you meaning to let it happen.
That's what Suna is experiencing right now.
But he won't let that control him.
I need to get away fast. But I can't.... move.
He gulped as he felt your presence disappear.
.....No, wait.... Don't actually leave me.
Y/n, I..
Tsk.
"This is why I hate people getting involved with me," He muttered and stood up, walking away and skipping what's left for practice.
You just stared from afar secretly. You wanted to help him, you really do. But your fear of being pushed away remains dominant. The thought of someone shutting you out, the thought of him shutting you out. The whole thought of him revoking your attachment and connection when you pushed to try and help him.
And it's hard to fight, even when it comes to Suna.
