Where do I go

When all doors are closed?

What happens when I realize

Each person's smile was posed?

Each so quick to say

Exactly what I want to hear.

I need a "friend"

And suddenly you appeared.

A light from the darkness

You did emerge.

I guess my prayers

God heard.

You give so much

And expect nothing in return.

My heart from your soft flame

Has been scorched and burned.

Now branded by you

And grateful for this.

You took feelings from me

I do not miss.

Thank you for all you are

And everything you do.

I believe what you say

Is honest and true.

Put your faith in me

The way I have in you,

And I will make you happy

And I will Love you.

Nichole truly believed she had the man of her dreams. Those closest to her could not completely share in her happiness. We saw the signs but she was happy for awhile. She had found someone to give her the attention she so desperately craved. Who knows, maybe in retrospect she knew. She wrote in the above poem that she was now branded by him.
