Painfully Honest Love
Confiding in me
The feelings you feel
Confessing your love
Explaining it's real.
You look in my eyes
And tell me it's true.
My heart skips a beat
All because of you.
You told me how
Deep in love you are
How you know it's right
No bad signs so far.
You told me of love
You told me what your feelings were
But you didn't speak of me
You only loved her.
Friendship is ours
Friendship of many ways
Dreaming it was more
I begin to drift and daze.
In love with
The words which you choose
Hurt by them too
My heart is now bruised.
Why can you not feel
That way for me?
Guess I will listen,
Close my eyes and dream.
This poem and the next are for a young man who was a very good friend of Nichole's brothers. He was probably about three maybe four years older than her. She had the worlds biggest crush on him. She was a freshman at this time. I really liked this young man, he was a true gentlemen.
He and Nichole became very close friends but never crossed the line. He said he loved her but as a close friend not a girlfriend. He was very honest with her and told her he could take advantage of her feelings, but said he could never hurt her like that. I still see this young man from time to time and I like him very much, he grew up to be a good man.
She of course was crushed but they remained very good friends up until the time of her death. She confided in him sometimes about the one that mistreated her, I guess there are things you can tell a friend that your just not comfortable telling a parent. She really did love him, as deeply as you can at that age, but it was very gently unrequited. A mother can only wish, yes?
