My Brothers
You were both there
To pick me up when I fell.
How I knew with my secrets
No one you would tell.
We went places
That people can only dream.
And we truly went there
Or at least how real it seemed.
To the moon and back
And even to the stars.
We caught fish and dogs
And put lightening bugs in jars.
We laughed until it hurt
And we couldn't do it anymore.
How, on our friendship
No matter the strain, did you close doors.
Always a smile
Even when you are really covering a frown.
How, no matter your problems,
You never let me fall down.
How grateful I am
For our friendship and trust.
How it has helped me greatly
And is needed so much.
Thanks again
My dear sweet brothers
And know in our relationship
We will always need each other.
Always here for you
Like you are here for me.
I swear that for eternity
Best friends we will always be.
Can you tell how much her brothers meant to her? She adored both of them so much. Her admiration started as a little girl and never wavered, right up until her death. She had a very different relationship with each of them, but each of them meant the world to her. As their mother I always loved to watch the three of them interact with each other, as children and as adults.
I remember one particular Easter Sunday when we were all together (they were all grown). I was filled with so much pride watching them laughing and having such a good time together. I got teary eyed thinking, "Wow, I actually had a part in creating three such beautifully, awesome human beings!"
