I prefer to think of some people as trash cans. Not that they are in any way trashy, for in fact they are quite the opposite. No, they are the unspoken ones who willingly, without saying a word, accept all of your trash. Your secrets, your shame, your endless stories of hopelessness and pain, the things you cannot bare to hold on to any longer.

And all the while, not once do they ask you to stop. Why? Because they care about you. They don't want you to keep your burdens retained because in that moment, your life and your joy means more to them than their own.

If you'll notice, it is rather rare to see a garbage can empty. This is because, even if you don't have anything to give, they themselves are filled with their own trash, their own burdens of shame, guilt, stress, and regret.

I tell you these things in hopes that your eyes will be opened to the people who truly matter.

And yes, I mean the trashy people.
