A new year is the perfect time for new beginnings. Many people see the new year as a blank page. A fresh start. But often, we find that as each year spills into the next, our lives remain unchanged. Our resolutions end up forgotten, and we come to the new year as the same person we were the previous year.

This new year presents you with the perfect opportunity to turn over a new leaf. To drop some bad habits and pick up some good ones. Don't dwell on your past mistakes when you have the opportunity to start over.

The figurative heart is our entire internal self—the seat of our emotions, character, desires, passions, attitude, beliefs, thoughts. It is who we really are. Real change starts from the heart.

Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.

King James version says "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind"

The only thing that can truly change you is a new heart—a renewed mind.
