This is going to be a long one folks

As I rested my cheek into the palm of my hand I watched closely as my boss Mr Jung shook hands with his fellow esteemed work colleagues.
"Your starring again"
Pulling me out of my daydream I swivelled around on my black office chair to come face to face with my work colleague and close friend Seonghwa. Looking into his eyes a smirk crept onto his delicate face, his eyes scanning back and forth between Mr Jung and myself.
"I-I wasn't" I fought, my hands trembling in the centre of my lap. My grey pencil skirt showing off my freshly painted nail polish.
Sighing softly Seonghwa placed down his pen, his attention was now fully on me. "This is the fourth time today y/n and it's only 11am." As a small pout formed on my lips my gaze began to wonder from Seonghwa's eyes.
Hearing the occasional ringing of phones, printers being scanned and people placing down their coffee cups made me perk up.
Upon hearing footsteps I turned myself back sound so I was facing my laptop.
"Y/n!"
Looking up I was met with the love of my life, someone whom I've had a crush on since the day I started working within the newspaper business. Someone whom I craved to see everyday.
My boss Jung Wooyoung.
"Yes Sir?" I asked sweetly, a scoff coming from behind me indicating that Seonghwa had caught onto my flustered reply to our boss.
"Have you finished your column I set you to write? I need it by this afternoon so I can send it off to publishing ready for tomorrow's headlines."
Scrambling around I frantically searched for my printed papers I had, only to find they weren't in sight. "Having trouble y/n?" Mr Jung asked sternly causing my red cheeks to intensify, hands now sweating.
"I-I yes Sir, just having t-trouble-"
"Ahem"
Hearing a sudden voice I looked up to see Seonghwa with my column in his hands. The feeling of great relief flew off my shoulders as I took them from his hands, "thank you hwa, what would I do without you?" I grinned earning a sweet smile from him.
As I turned back to Mr Jung his jaw was clenching tightly, frowning at his expression I held out my column. "F-found it" I exhaled.
Looking down he inspected the slightly white crumbled pieces of paper.
As his glare lifted to my eyes I gulped hard. As my lips parted he pushed the papers back into my chest, "Sir-" "re-type this up, this is a disgrace. I can't hand these crumbled up papers to publishing. Don't you realise I have a professional image to uphold?"
Being taken back by his sudden outburst my arm fell, papers still in my grip. "Half an hour y/n, re type this mess and bring it to my office." Nodding highly I sat back into my chair, "and as for you Seonghwa" Mr Jung called grasping the males attention, "I shall expect your column at the start of next week."
"Yes Sir" Seonghwa replied before watching Mr Jung walk away in his stride, neck held high.
"In all my time I've never seen him speak that way towards you, he's usually very-" Seonghwa thought for a moment "sweet towards you." Looking across I shrugged my shoulders, "he might just be having a bad day."
As we both looked up we saw Mr Jung standing by his office laughing happily with his secretary.
"Having a bad day huh?" Seonghwa asked again before turning back and typing up his column.
Placing down my papers I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. Sizzling my laptops mouse I brought up a word document ready to re-type my column- which I didn't previously save.
•
Standing from my chair I checked upon Seonghwa to see him deep in thought as he typed up his column. His column about a recent wedding that had taken place in our downtown church.
Heading for the printers I stood aside patiently as I watched my column being printed, only this time it wasn't crumbled up.
Watching the world below from the 20th floor I took a moment for myself. I have worked in this newspaper company for 5 years now, I was 17 when I started and I am now 22.
As I heard the printer come to a holt I turned back and retrieved my papers. Inspecting them with a satisfied smile I headed for Mr Jung's office.
Taking a deep breath I knocked on the door and waited to be called through. As the door abruptly opened I was met with the man himself.
"Ah y/n" he welcomed, looking down to his Rolex watch he hummed in satisfaction. "On time, that's what I like to see." As I walked in I felt his eyes watching me closely.
"Re-typed and printed out just how you like it" I stated with confidence as I placed them onto his desk, blinking mildly I thought upon my sudden speech, I was confident for once.
"Thank you very much y/n. You don't know how much I appreciate this. As he took a seat he loosened his black tie. Standing on the opposite side of his desk I twiddled my thumbs as he read through my column. "Wow" he spoke in astonishment.
"You really know a way with your words y/n." He spoke without letting his eyes remove themselves from the black font on the paper. "This is amazing, one of the best columns I read. Where did you get the inspiration to write like this?" I shrugged my shoulders softly, "just comes from the heart."
Raising his eyebrows he stood to his feet, "This will be perfect for the headlines tomorrow, you should be proud of yourself y/n." "Thank you Sir" I granted as I headed for the door. Watching him open it before me he stood close, our faces just inches away from one another. "Well onto the next wedding search" he chuckled. "Yes, onto the next." I replied before leaving his office for the day.
3pm
As I closed my laptop for the final time I heard commotion from ahead of me. "What's going on?" Seonghwa asked as he also caught onto the loud voices coming from Mr Jung's office.
Looking at him concern he continued to button up his coat. "It's his father"
Both looking over our shoulders we were greeted with his secretary Mr Choi, a sweet red haired male with glasses. "How do you know?" Seonghwa asked with a whisper, "because I had to show his father where his office was- oh-I'm sorry I shouldn't be talking about this matter with other colleagues."
Quickly grabbing his coffee cup he made his way toward his office. Turning back to Seonghwa we stood in concern, "I'm sure everything will be fine y/n, now let's go you've got a date remember?" He smirked earning a hard yawn from myself.
"Yeah a date only because my father forced me to go on one."
Throwing my coat over my shoulders I grabbed my essentials and left the office with Seonghwa in tow.

Once I returned home my mother welcomed me with a warm smile, a smile no one could ever be mad at. "Welcome home love" she greeted. "Good day at work?" she asked as I followed her into the kitchen.
"Yes it was good. Mr Jung is going to publish my column tomorrow for the newspaper." My mothers eyes widened in happiness, "the wedding you wrote about?" I nodded, "well congratulations" she smiled before placing a kiss onto my temple. "Thanks mum"
"Did I hear my daughters column will be on tomorrow's newspaper?" My fathers happy voice was heard way before making his appearance in the room. "Yes isn't that exciting?" My mother replied. "Great news. Now off you go to change poppet, your date is in a new hours."
As my smile faded I looked over to my mother who had the same facial expression, she rightly knew how much I didn't want to go on this date.
Grabbing my bag I walked past them and headed up to my room. "Ah there's the annoying human" my older brother Hongjoong welcomed as he ruffled up my hair. "Ah nice to see you too Joong, now get off me" I shouted as I swatted his hand away.
"Oh someone's a bit grouchy, what your column didn't make the news?" He asked with a sad expression. "Oh it did." I replied with a smirk before nudging his shoulder and walking to my room. "Wait your column is going on the newspaper?" he asked franticly only to have my wooden door being slammed shut in his face.
7pm
As I looked at my reflection in the mirror my bedroom door slowly opened up, my mother making an appearance. "Hi darling" she greeted as she stood beside me. Looking down to the ground she rested her hand onto my shoulder, "I'm sorry about this date tonight."
I rolled my eyes in frustration. "I know how you much don't want to be here right now." She paused, "I know how you feel about Mr Jung but you need to get back out there."
Removing her hand from my arm I walked over to my desk to collect my bag. "Yeah getting back out there in my own time- I don't want to go on this stupid date. I want to find a relationship on my own." Seeing her smile fade I closed my eyes in agitation. "I'm sorry" I apologised once I realised how loud I had raised my voice.
"Y/n" my father called from the bottom of the stairs, "are you ready?"
Taking one last look at my mother I walked past her and headed for my father who was waiting by the front door, his car keys in his hands.
"You look lovely, now let's go" his hopeful smile shone as he walked to the car, whereas mine was no where to be found.
Once we parked up I removed my seatbelt and got out from the car. "I'm sure Justin will drop you off home later on so no rush" my father spoke as I walked away from his car. Without looking back or waving him goodbye I entered the restaurant.
"Good evening, how can I help you?" A young female asked with a welcoming smile, "I-I there's a table booked under the name Kim." Scanning her papers she grabbed two menus and offered me to follow her.
Once I saw the table in sight Justin was no where to be seen, "the other hasn't turned up yet but your more then welcome to order a drink while you wait."
"Just tap water please" I asked with a smile. Nodding her head she made her way over to the bar in the far corner of the restaurant.
Removing my jacket I began to scan the menu for my desired meal.
"One water for you" the waitress smiled as she placed it down in front of me. "Thank you."
Turning my wrist I checked the time, Justin was 10 minutes late...
Wooyoung's POV:
"Wooyoung what's wrong?" My younger brother, Kyungmin asked in worry, "nothing" I replied in hope he would simply shrug it off, but he didn't.
"He's just had a rough day at work, but it's all going to be sorted won't it son?" My father intervened with a stern tone in his voice. "Yes it will" I fought as I looked into his eyes.
"Anyway" my mother called taking myself and my father out of our hard stares against one another. "Has everyone chosen what they are going to have for dinner?" Hearing a satisfied hum from Kyungmin I couldn't help but notice a young woman sitting alone.
Leaning closer to Kyungmin I caught glimpse with her very familiar face, it was y/n.
"What are you doing?" Kyungmin scoffed when he noticed how close I was getting. Pulling myself back I coughed dryly, "I-I was just looking at your menu" "why? You have your own" Kyungmin argued.
Taking a sip of my soft drink I kept close eye on y/n.
As she constantly checked her watch I frowned to myself, was she waiting for a date?
The sad look in her eye made me feel awful, I just wanted to go over and sit with her but I couldn't...
As she grabbed her jacket she threw down some money and left the restaurant.
As my eyes lingered onto a set of roses in the centre of the room a bright smile formed onto my lips.
I'm going to make tomorrow the best day for her.
The following day
With my head hung low I made my way over to my desk, I didn't want to be here
As I placed my bag down someone's hands wrapped themselves around my shoulders, "how was the date?"
That was then I broke down. Falling frontward Seonghwa held onto my weak body, guiding itself onto my chair. "Why does this always happen to me Hwa? I'm so fed up of this" I cried. Lifting his hand he wiped away my falling tears, "I don't know darling, There's plenty more fish in the sea."
Quickly placing down his coat he helped me remove myself out of mine. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked as he wheeled his chair close. "Well-"
"Delivery for y/n."
Upon seeing a bright bouquet of roses a piece of my broken heart had moulded. Taking the flowers from the florists hands Seonghwa set them down on my desk. "Who are they from?" I asked as Seonghwa began to search for a note. "I don't know, there's no note."
As he searched the room he came eye to eye with someone who had been waiting for this delivery all morning. Reviving a wink he smiled discreetly before sitting back down on his chair.
"Well their beautiful anyway" I complimented before smelling the flowers.
•
"Y/n, y/n, y/n. Look" Seonghwa called as he ran towards me, "Your column is on the newspaper." Taking it from his hands I read it through my work, a proud smile forming in my face.
"One latte for y/n"
Lifting my head I was met with one of the baristas from the cafe on the 10th floor. "Oh I didn't order-" "enjoy" the young female winked before walking away.
Taking the warm cup in my hands I read the words "enjoy" which was written on the inner part of the lid.
"Well someone's got the hots for you today" Seonghwa teased earning a scoff from me, "y-yeah sure." Taking a small sip I placed it down and continued with my wedding search.
After a while of brainstorming Mr Choi approached my desk. "Mr Jung would like to see you in his office, follow me please." Turning off my laptop I quickly followed him to my requested destination.
"He's waiting inside for you" he bluntly stated before turning around and walking away.
As my fist came in contact with the door it slowly opened up. Tilting my head I hesitantly made my way in, "Mr Jung" I called softly as I closed the door behind me.
"I really hope you like the flowers"
Looking across I saw Mr Jung with a single Rose in his hands, the same rose from the bouquet I was given this morning. "And the latte too, I always see you ordering it on your morning break, but this morning you i didn't see there."
Feeling the hairs in my arms rise all the puzzle pieces came together, "it was you?" I asked in disbelief.
Nodding slowly he walked toward me. Placing the Rose into my hands he took a breath, "I saw you last night in the restaurant, I gathered your date bailed so I send you all those gifts to make you smile."
I was speechless...Literally. With no words wanting to escape my lips I wrapped my arms around Mr Jung's neck and hugged him tightly. As tears escaped my eyes a small "thank you" soon left my mouth.
Pulling me close his arms snacked around my waist, "you're welcome y/n, I hope I've made it all worth while?"
"You have indeed, I cannot thank you enough."
"Does this mean a date may be on the cards?" He asked with smirk, "oh definitely."
