Little Butterfly
"This is the design" I spoke to my mum with a smile. Handing her a small photo I showed her the new tattoo I was planning to get in the upcoming weeks. Taking it from my hands she placed her glasses back onto her face and analysed it.
"Yes darling, it's nice. Where are you planning on having it done?" she asked as she handed the drawing back to me. "I'm thinking on my forearm next to grandads rose."
My mothers smile grew even wider. "Is it for Nana?" she asks to which I nod highly too. "Well in that case get it next to the rose but just remember--" "It's on your body for the rest of your life, I know" I said finishing her statement. "I just want you to like it that's all" she commented before turning her attention back to the chicken she was currently cooking in the frying pan.
"Mum it's for Nana, of course i will like it. Plus if I don't then I can always tell my artist to change it. She doesn't mind as most people tend to change their minds last minute anyway."
"I know, I've had my fair share of tattoos" she chuckles whilst looking down to her scattered sleeve. "Yes and you like them all am I correct?" I state. "I do therefore you have the tattoo wherever you want too darling" she smiles.
Few Weeks Later
Opening up the studios doors the small bell chimed loudly letting the artist know I had arrived.
"Good morning sweetie, how can I help you today?" A young girl welcomed as she approached me. The moment she caught my eye they opened further. Her appearance was very...strong.
Both of her arms were covered in tattoos along with a face full of piercings, she even stretchers in her ears which always made me cringe from within, but of course it's her body.
"Y-yes I have an appointment with Anna." I reply as I let the door close behind me.
Walking behind the counter she sizzled the computers mouse and brought up today's schedule.
Watching her eyes scan the screen I looked around the room in fascination.
The studio had recently had an entire revamp, Including fresh set of new decor, a new coat of light grey pint along with new seating areas.
"This new layout is really nice" I complimented as I turned back to the young girl. "Thank you" she smiled. "Y/n is it?" She asked looking up to me. "That's me" I answered.
"So unfortunately Anna has been taken sick early this morning. But don't worry her son Wooyoung will happily take her place and tattoo you today." My eyes widened, "I've never had a guy tattoo me before" I chuckled nervously. "Ah you shall not worry Wooyoung is a great artist, you're in great hands. My boyfriend is really good friends with him actually" she adds, settling my nerves.
Clicking on the mouse she reached over and grabbed a small black clipboard and two pieces of paper attached to it. "You obviously know the drill but if you could just take a few minutes to fill out these forms that would be great. In the mean time I will go and tell Wooyoung you're here."
Nodding in agreement I turned away and took a seat on the black sofa as the girl headed to the back of the studio.
•
After a few minutes the girl soon came back out into the waiting area. "All done?" she asks as she approaches me. Lifting the clipboard up she gently takes it from my hands. "Yes. Thank you" I smile.
"Wooyoung is just setting up so you're more then welcome to head down there as soon as your ready." She spoke as she took a seat at the desk, filing away my paperwork.
"Is he in Anna's room?" I ask as I stand to my feet, placing my bag over my shoulder.
"No, his room is just straight ahead and down a little set of stairs." Nodding in acceptance I thanked her one more time before heading to his room.
Once I reached the end of the hallway I walked down each step and knocked on the door.
"Come in" a males voice shouted from the opposite site.
Reaching down for the handle I twisted it to the side letting the door slowly open up. Stepping inside I was met with one of the most beautiful males I'd ever laid my eyes on.
For a moment time had frozen, I was drawn into his dark brown eyes which complimented his features so perfectly.
"Hi, I'm Wooyoung I'm Anna's son, your y/n right?"
His voice was deep and strong, something that I always found attractive in men.
As he spun around on his little black stool I regained myself before I was lost further into his eyes.
Quite literally
"Y-yes I am" I smiled. "It's very nice to meet you" he greeted. "My mum has spoken a lot about you." "All good things I hope" he nodded. "Very much, so if you'd just like to place your belongings on that chair we can get started." he spoke as he pointed to a chair nearby.
•
"So" he said wheeling himself close to me. "My mum said she gave you three designs to choose from, which one did you go for in the end?" "I went with this rose" I spoke as I showed him the drawing Anna drew for me a few weeks back.
He looked at his mothers work with satisfaction, "This is a really nice design, is there a meaning to it or did you just like the design?" he asked with a smile.
I fell silent, "It's for my Nana, she passed away a few months ago." Wooyoung's face softened "I'm very sorry to hear that." "It's ok" I whispered. "That's why I went for this design as it reminds me a lot of her."
Wooyoung smiled. "That's a lovely tribute. Well let me just go and get it printed and then we can see where you want it to be placed. Which" he paused as he looked over to me. "Where would you like it by the way?" he asked as he walked over to the printer.
I bit my lip. "I was thinking next to the rose." I replied pointing down to my forearm, tracing my fingers over the red rose Anna had done for me previously.
Collecting the printed design Wooyoung came back over and took a seat next to me. "Was the rose for your grandad by any chance?" he asked softly to which I nodded in sadness. "I'm sorry for both losses, it must have been hard" he adds as he placed the template right next to the butterfly.
"It was but me and my mum are getting through it. One day at a time."
•
"Ok. So are you ready?" Wooyoung asks as he dips the needle into the black ink. I nodded with a smile. "I'm ready" "Ok. Here we go" he adds as he begins to apply pressure to my skin.
Squeezing my eyes shut in pain I tried my hardest not to inhale too quickly. "You ok?" He asks as he pulls away, re-dipping the needle into the black ink.
"Y-yeah sorry it just hurts a little, kinda forgot what the pain was like" I chuckled. "It will, every tattoo does but I promise it will look amazing once it's all done." Smiling in hope I watched him get back to work.
Occasionally looking around the room at all the photos and designs hung on the wall I couldn't help but take small glances at Wooyoung
His face was full of concentration, his eyes were focused and his hand was nice and steady.
His dark hair rested just above his eyebrows and his lips were slightly open as he breathed in and out.
An hour later
"And we're all done." Wooyoung smiles contently as he pulls away from me, placing his tattoo gun down onto the trolly. "Do you want to check it out in the mirror?" he asks as he removes his black gloves, throwing them away in the bin.
Standing from the chair I headed over to the mirror, my smile immediately brightening. "Wow" my voice began to zizzle. "This looks amazing Wooyoung. Thank you so much." I compliment as I wipe my eyes which were brimming with tears.
"You are very welcome. It really suits you." He smiles as I head back over to the chair. "Let's get it wrapped up ok?" I nodded as he began to wrap some cling film around my forearm.
"There we go" he states as he finishes placing the last piece of sellotape onto the cling film. "Thank you once again" I smile as I look down to the fresh art on my arm.
"They'd be very proud of you" Wooyoung comments making me look up to him. "Both of my grandparents passed away when I was very young so I know how it feels to loose them." Pulling up his sleeve he showed me two turtle doves on his shoulder. "One is for my Nan and the other is for my grandpa."
Looking at the piece of art in his arm my heart softened. "Did your mum do these?" I asked. He nodded, "yes, they were one of my first tattoos actually." I grinned. "It's a beautiful piece" I complimented as he let his sleeve fall back down his arm.
"No matter where they are their always with you" he states making my lower lip quiver. Taking my hand he pulls me into a warm hug. "I know I've only just met you but I can sense you need a hug."
"Thank you Wooyoung" I grant as I pull away. Upon wiping my tears a sudden knock on the door made, taking us out of our gazes.
"Wooyoung, your next client is due in twenty minutes." A males deep voice called from the opposite side of the door. "I-I best get going" I whisper as I jump off the edge of the chair.
"Y-yeah" he replies as he watches me gather belongings.
As I opened the door Wooyoung looked down to me with a soft smile. "Just make sure to wash the tattoo twice a day and apply cream soon after. And most importantly not to itch it." I nodded. "Will do, thank you again Wooyoung." I reply as I leave the room, heading back up the tiny set of stairs.
My heart shattered as I began to head for the exit.
Why did I suddenly feel so lost?
"Would you like to book in for another appointment or will you give us a call when your ready for another?" The young girl from reception asks as I walk over to her.
"I'll give you a call when I'm ready." I smile.
"Ok, well you know where we are. Your tattoo looks wonderful by the way." She smiles. "Thank you, Wooyoung's done a great job."
"I told you so. Have a great rest of your day" the girl chimes as I begin to head for the door. "Thank you, and you" I reply as I open up the door, letting the bell chime once again.
Once I stepped out onto the street the breeze was light and cool. The air blew my hair out of my face and the rustling of the leaves ran along the pathway.
Adjusting my bag on my arm I began to walk down the street.
"Y/n" I frowned upon hearing my name. "Y/n wait up." Turning on my heel I saw Wooyoung running toward me.
"Wait up" he panted as he slowed down, his hands resting onto his thighs he caught his breath.
"Wooyoung, what on earth are you doing?" I laughed as I placed my hand onto his upper back.
"You forgot this" he pants as he hands me a small white piece of paper. "And you also forgot this" he adds as he stands tall. Smirking softly he places a small kiss onto my cheek.
"See you tonight my little butterfly" he whispers as he releases his grip, heading back to the studio.
Looking down I opened up the small crumbled piece of paper to read.
My shift finishes at 6pm
Dinner is on me
Wooyoung xx
Looking up to see his figure fading away in the distance a huge smile crept onto my lips.
'Then I shall meet you back here at 6pm' I spoke to myself as I began to head back home.
My little butterfly
