Pawser Bingham works as an agent for the British Intelligence Services MI5. Pawser's days are spent idling away his time in the services library admiring the luscious chief librarian Lucy Fangle and trying to forget his wife is having an affair with the local butcher and pie maker extraordinaire Nobby Slowhand. Pawser dislikes Nobby and for no apparent reason Nobby's demonic horse Mephistopheles has acquired a distinct animosity toward Pawser.

When Pawser's oddball team of agents stumble on a pile of cash during a raid on a local forgers premises, Pawser's life is turned upside down. He finds himself dealing with crazed Irish criminals, ruthless politicians and a search for a high level mole within the services.....be prepared for poor behaviour, farcical amorous encounters  and a tangled plot featuring some very odd characters indeed!
