Chapter 3
After some walking they reached the Mad Hatter's house, it was on the outskirts of the city. The whole way Tamaki told him more about the others. Mitsuki loved going to the tea parties the Hatter threw and enjoyed hearing tales. While Riku mainly just slept most of the time, still he tried his best to show up to the tea parties.
"I have a spare room, so you can have that" Tamaki said, leading him into the house. "Let me know if you need anything. Also, I'm stupid, so you need to tell me how you're feeling, got it?"
"Right..but please don't call yourself stupid.."
"Yeah yeah" he waved his hand dismissively. "I'm going to eat some pudding. I don't have anything spicy though so maybe you can go buy some stuff"
"I don't have money though" he pointed out.
Sighing, Tamaki signaled him to stay while he left the room to retrieve something. When he came back he was holding a small bag. "Here, this should be enough" he handed the bag to him. Opening it he could saw it contained some gold coins. "Thank you, anything I don't use I'll give back to you" Sogo smiled.
Tamaki nodded, also telling him to just follow the path back and not to stray off. That way he wouldn't get lost. Once he was given instructions of where he could buy some spicy things he headed off. He didn't plan on exploring much alone, it was probably better to have one of the others with him to ensure he found his way safely.
. . .
"Ehh? A new visitor in our world?"
"The March Hare claimed that he was merely just someone they knew who refused to leave their home for a while. But it was obvious they were lying seeing how quickly the defended him" Gaku said.
The three trump soldiers has gone to the Black King, Momo, to tell him about Sogo. Momo just swayed his leg a bit while leaning against his hand. "Why don't we find out more about this new guest, Sogo" he smiled. "I'm sure Darling must of met him by now, so it's only fair we get to know him too right?"
"But they might try to keep him away from us" Ryuu pointed out.
"Mm..Just try to find a time when he's alone. Or maybe the Doremouse knows something, he's the one they trust with information isn't he?"
Tenn smiled slightly when he heard mention of Riku. It wasn't a secret among the four that Tenn liked the Doremouse. Unfortunately, Riku seemed oblivious toward this, probably due to how drowsy he was everytime he tried talking to him. Though they didn't know if he liked him because of love toward him or because he enjoyed messing with him.
"Then let's get going. We'll report back once we gain more information" Tenn said.
After that they were dismissed. There wasn't a doubt in their minds that Tenn was just going to go right to the option of talking to Riku.
. . .
It took him a few minutes to locate the place Tamaki had told him about. He got lost a few times but since the people in the city we're nice they pointed him in the right direction. The small shop sold various of things, but the items he focused on was the bottles of hot sauces. He wanted to buy all of them since he loved spicy things. But he didn't have enough money to so just a few bottles would suffice. Buying the hottest hot sauce he could afford, he smiled holding the bottles. He had some money left so he'd just give it back to Tamaki.
Suddenly he felt someone lean again his back, looking behind him he saw Riku. "Riku-kun?" The Doremouse just mumbled in reply. Balancing the bottles and the small bag of money, he lead Riku over to a bench. "Weren't you brought home?"
"I saw you *yawn* pass by..so I decided to talk to you.." he replied. He rubbed his eyes a bit before waking up. "I'll try to stay awake so we can have a proper conversation!" he looked determined to stay awake just to talk to him.
"Haha, it's okay if you start to drift off. I understand you're tired sometimes" he pat Riku on the head.
"Yeah..But I want to work on staying awake! Ah, by the way, what's the with the bottles?" Looking curiously to the bottles before looking up to Sogo.
"Hot sauce, it's the hottest mind I could afford. I have a high tolerance for spicy things"
"Ooh, I don't like spicy foods. Too hot. It's amazing you can tolerate the burning!" Riku said, looking at him, his eyes were beaming in amazement.
"I can cook other things that aren't spicy. I'll ask Tamaki-kun if I can make some food to bring to your next tea party for you to try"
"Really? Thank you, Sogo-san! I look forward to it!"
He chuckled, the Doremouse was kind of cute, plus while he was actually awake he seemed quite energetic. Hopefully he could manage to stay awake more often. Perhaps he could help him find ways to do so.
"Oh and since you're not from Wonderland, where are you from?" he asked, it seems he was curious as well. Not that he minded.
"Japan. I followed a strange boy to a tree and fell down I think a rabbit hole. I ended up in a strange room full of doors.."
"Ooh, you followed the White Rabbit! He tends to be in a rush..the place you first discovered was the Room of Doors. The forest was Tulgey Woods, it's seemingly endless, it's easy to get lost if you don't know your way" he explained.
"I see..Thank you for telling me a bit about the places I've been too. Also if you don't mind me asking, why do you three have so many tea parties?"
"Because it's fun. Though sometimes to celebrate our unbirthdays"
Sogo chuckled, "Is the next tea party to celebrate the King's unbirthday then?" Riku nodded happily. So it was a party any day for them, he wondered what they did for their actual birthdays.
They spoke more about where Sogo was from, doing his best to explain everything. Sometimes he had to go more into detail since Wonderland didn't have a lot of things the normal world had. Mainly technology, Riku found it really confusing. After some time though he stood up saying he should head back before Tamaki got worried.
The Dormouse waved goodbye and hoped they could spend more time together soon. He wanted to know more about Sogo and the world he came from. As soon as Sogo was out of sight he yawned, deciding on if he should go home to sleep or just lay down on the bench and do so. Though his bed might be more comfortable than a bench. Rubbing his eyes sleepily he looked around and watched as people walked by.
