Chapter 11
Waking up in Tamaki's arms, he would of been happy, but he wasn't. Today he had to tell him their time together was ending.
So there he was, laying in bed with Tamaki sleeping peacefully next to him. His arms were still wrapped around Sogo. He seemed so excited to spend more time with him that day, but it'd never happen now.
His heart ached in his chest, trying to think of a way to tell him the truth without hurting him. Who was he kidding? Either way he'd hurt Tamaki.
"Tamaki-kun.." he whispered, shaking him lightly. All he got was a groan in reply as Tamaki turned, facing his back toward Sogo. "Wake up...We need to talk"
"Just a few more minutes"
Sighing he muttered an 'okay' before getting up. Maybe this would give him some time to think. As well as make some food for their last breakfast together. The more he thought about it though..the more he had to control himself to not break down.
To say he felt sad about having to leave would be an understatement. Of course he could just stay like Tamaki suggested. But those words always came back, 'you don't belong here', it was the only thing reminding him that he just had to go home. Wonderland would always be in his memories. Along with all the time he spent with everyone.
He didn't know when but while he was cooking the food he had started crying, not realizing until he had set the food on the table. Leaning against the table he just let himself cry. Minutes past by and all he did was cry the entire time, shaking and trying to keep himself quiet.
"Don't cry So-chan.." Tamaki said, wrapping his arms around Sogo.
He froze. No words could come out. All he could do was stand there as Tamaki looked at him worriedly. Why did he have to wake up at a time like this?
"Calm down, come on let's sit and you can tell me what's wrong"
He let Tamaki lead him over to the couch and hold him close. They sat there for a bit so Sogo could calm down. The entire time Tamaki whispered to him to calm down, that he was there and not to worry. Once he settled down, it was time to have the conversation he had dreaded.
"So what's the matter?"
"..I..Iori-kun found a way for me to return home...I can leave at anytime..So today...." he muttered.
"You're leaving..? Today?" he could hear his voice crack. "Can't we spend a few more days together?!" He'd do anything to have Sogo stay even a few days more.
"If we did..I might never want to leave. I'm sorry for deciding this without telling you.."
"I can't convince you to change your mind can I?"
"No, though I wouldn't stop you from trying. It's time to say goodbye I guess" Sogo replied with a sad smile.
"So-chan since today is our last day together, I want to tell you something" grabbing Sogo's hands. "I really like you! But I won't try to make you stay, I want you to be happy so I'll just have to let you go.."
Staring at him, trying to process everything. Did Tamaki just confess to him?
"T-Tamaki-kun.." His face was probably visibly flushed, but he didn't care. "To be honest, I feel the same. But.."
"I know, don't worry" he replied, quickly leaning over and kissing him. "I still..love you.."
Blushing and looking away Sogo spoke up, "A-Anyways I told Iori-kun to let the others know what's going on and he said to meet where I first came to Wonderland. Should we eat before we go?"
"I don't feel like eating. So let's just head over to the meeting point, So-chan"
Nodding, the two stood up, holding hands as they left to meet up with the others. It was a quiet walk, neither daring to utter a word. They felt like if they did, then they'd change their minds about letting each others go.
After a few minutes they arrived at the place Sogo first discovered when he came to Wonderland. The room with many doors. Maybe they had the shrink potion and growing cake so he'd be able to enter the room again.
"Sogo-san..are you really leaving..?" Riku asked with a yawn.
"What about all the tea parties you'll miss! We haven't celebrated your unbirthday yet either!" Mitsuki exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, but I think it's time I finally go home, I'm going to miss you all.."
"Please remember us!" Ryuu said. He was holding Gaku's hand at the time while Tenn was holding Riku. As usual the Dormouse looked like he would fall asleep any moment.
Yamato and Nagi were talking to Mitsuki about something, all he could hear was 'tea party' and how much they'd miss him. He didn't see Momo and Yuki there, so they were probably to busy with their duties to come.
"You noticed the kings aren't here right? Don't worry, they send their best wishes on your safe return to your world. Now, are you ready?" Iori asked, holding his hand out to Sogo.
"Yeah.." taking his hand, they walked to the small door, drinking the potion to get through and then eating the cake to return to normal size.
There was no going back now, he made his choice. He just hoped the others wouldn't forget about him and had good lives, even without him there. Who would of thought just spending a few days in a different world would end up like this. Making friends, spending time together and making memories..only to have to separate after such a short amount of time.
He stayed close to Iori as he brought him back to his own world. Honestly he didn't remember what happened during that time, just that he crawled out of the rabbit hole he had fallen into.
Sitting a few inches away from the hole, he dusted off his clothes, no longer in a dress but back in his original outfit. It was strange being in normal clothes again, he had adjusted to wearing the dress. Not that he would start wearing dresses now.
Also, it seems as if no time had passed at. Taking out his phone it read the same time it was when he fell into Wonderland. Time really did act different between their worlds. He doubted he'll ever understand how things worked between their worlds.
Standing up, he looked back to the rabbit hole and smiled. "I'll miss you..everyone" With that said, he began making his way home. He didn't remember what his original plan was before he chased after Iori. It didn't matter anymore. He just wanted to go home now.
