Separation

"What do you mean it's fine?! It's obviously not fine!" Morgan exclaims as she paces the room of Will and Aaron's dorm again.

Will is now sitting on the couch next to Aaron, who are both watching Morgan pace in front of them now. Will has his elbows on his knees and Aaron has his book on his head, almost falling asleep. Jay stands there, watching Morgan confused, leaning against the door.

Jay had walked into the room with news that Heather couldn't be found and Claire more recently disappeared as well. All three of the boys tried to get Morgan to calm down, but as expected, had no luck in doing so.

"This is as bad as that one time I stole my dad's elixirs... I thought it was apple juice!" Morgan rubs the back of her neck.

Will chuckles at Morgan. Jay gets pushed forward by the door suddenly, and falls forwards, flat on his face. Jay groans and Mal, Ben, Evie, and Carlos burst through the door. Carlos starts immediately laughing at Jay, as Jay gets up on his own, rubbing his nose as he finally stands up.

"Shut up," Jay mutters to Carlos as he punches him in the arm.

Evie, in turn, swats both of them in the arm, getting them both to shut up. Evie turns to Morgan and frowns. Mal walks through holding the distorted, green and purple teapot that Heather had previously used.

"What's happened?! Did you find them?" Morgan demands as she crosses her arms across her chest. "I've been scared to the Queen's castle and back! You took so long!"

Will narrows his eyes at the teapot as he stands up and takes it from Mal. He turns to Morgan and holds it up in front of her. Morgan's eyes widen as she immediately recognizes it. Will gets curious and takes the lid off of the teapot, dispersing the awful aroma from the teapot. Everyone, except Morgan, starts coughing and pinching their noses to try and mask the smell.

"I swear, I am going to be sick," Mal mutters.

"I cannot puke! This is a new shirt!" Evie complains, examining her shirt in the mirror standing next to her.

Aaron stands up abruptly, his book that was on his head falling to the ground. He was now extremely alert from getting such a whiff of the awful scent. Morgan places the lid back onto the teapot and looks extremely concerned.

"What is it, Mads?" Will questions as Morgan sits down on the ground with her legs crossed. She held the teacup in her lap and she stared at it, sulking.

"My dad made this for The Queen forever ago. It was to make the reality into the wonder-ality, is what her told me," Morgan smiled a bit at the thought.

Mal sits on the ground across from her and sits up on her knees, "English please?"

Morgan looks up at Mal and turns from sulking to dead serious, "It's a Shapeshifting Tea. It can turn anyone who sips from it into anything they desire. The effects could be limitless."

"A shapeshifting tea? So a potion?" Carlos questions, leaning up against the table.

Ben shakes his head, "Why on Earth would they need it?"

Will has a moment of realization, "To get to Wonderland."

Everyone's heads turn from Morgan to Will.

Will shakes his head and puts a hand to his neck, leaning back against the couch. He says, mostly to himself, "Claire wanted to save her mother. Heather was coaxing her to do it, lead her on. If they both planned it, they could use the tea to get back to Wonderland by changing into something that could fly. If they used the limo they would be noticed. This was the only way they could get to Wonderland going unnoticed"

Aaron chuckles then coughs, trying to be serious again, "Um, sorry... But why would Heather want to go back to Wonderland--"

Aaron stops talking abruptly as he tilts his head, looking towards the window. Everyone looks at Aaron, expecting him to finish his thought, but receive nothing. Evie turns and looks out the window to see exactly what Aaron was looking at.

"Um, guys..." Evie speaks up as they all turn to see what the two were so distracted by.

In the window sill, a large white owl with a red heart on both it's wings sat, with a rolled up parchment of paper tied to it's thin leg. Ben walks over to the window and opens it slowly, the owl flies in and lands in front of Morgan, expectantly. Morgan looks concerned and unties the parchment of paper and unfolds it to form a whole letter. The owl gets up and flies to the window sill and waits there again.

Morgan starts reading the letter in her head and the group looks at her expectantly. Morgan darts her eyes up to see them all looking at her, realizing she was suppose to read it out loud. "Oh sorry..." Morgan says as she looks back down at the letter and reads,

"Kitten,

As some may say in Auradon, the Cheshire's out of the bag here in Wonderland. The Queen is hatching a plan to detach herself from any form of communication with Auradon. I am unsure how she might launch this maddening plan, but she will. Don't come for me. You and your friends must stay in Auradon where you are free and safe. The Queen will do whatever she can to try and get her pawns back onto her chess board, so whatever you do, do not come for us. Our riddling minds may think alike, whereas to come and rescue us, but trust my riddles when I express that this is not something you can unriddle on your own...

Do not forget the solutions to your problems hide within the lines. Unriddle what you must, but do not try to unriddle the Queen.

I love you, my kitten. Be safe.

With maddness,

Cheshire"

The wonders' hearts were in their throats as they realized what this really meant.

"I knew there was something unsettling about that letter... It just didn't seem like something Cheshire would even think!" Will says, putting his head in his hands and lowering them so they would be nearly at his knees.

Aaron sat on the couch, biting on the cover of his book, looking as if he was going to be sick. Morgan sat in silence, staring at the coffee table in fear, nearly crumpling up the letter in her shaking hands. Carlos walks over and puts a hand on her shoulder, reassuringly. Mal rushes over to her and swipes the letter out of Morgan's hands, reading the letter to herself once over again.

It seemed Ben and Morgan had switched roles, since he was the one now pacing the room nervously. He kept muttering, 'My dad is going to kill me.' Evie clung onto Jay's arm, almost giving him bruises she was squeezing his arm so hard. Jay took one for the team, handling Evie's nervous state.

This was very bad news...

"She's gone..." Morgan said softly. Mal looked towards her, keeping her angry expression.

"No. I won't have it," Mal grumbled.

Will sat back up and stared at the empty coffee cup on the table. "Heather was her first pawn, Claire was her second, we are the other three of eight. If Cheshire was speaking figuratively and realistically, that is. Heather was the Queen's backup to get Claire to go to Wonderland. To get all of us to go--"

Mal cuts him off by saying, "We have to go. We have to get Claire back."

Will raises an eyebrow at Mal. He continues, "Mal, it was a trap. If we go, we may not ever come back. Like Cheshire said, she's planning to cut off all communication with Auradon. We'll be walking right into her clutches."

"Doesn't matter. We'll find a way to get her back we can--"

"Mal's right, Will. You know that," Morgan pipes in, cutting Mal off.

Will looks towards Morgan, shocked, "Mads, you know what happens when someone tries to leave Wonderland. She goes berserk!" Will tries to argue, but is evidently arguing with his own thoughts.

"We've left before but I can't guarantee that either of you are right. However, I am with Morgan on this one. We've done it before, we can do it again," Aaron says, finally speaking up.

Will goes silent, looking down at his hands. Will shakes his head, chuckling to himself, "Alright let's head out then."

"Great, let's go find Heather the flippin' feather and put her in time out for taking Claire to Wonderland," Aaron smirks as he stands up, brushing his shirt out so the wrinkles disappear. No one reacts to his attempt to be funny.

Will stands up and crosses his arms, "Aaron, no. You have to stay here."

Aaron's mouth drops open as he comprehends what Will just told him, "Why?!"

"I am going, and so is Morgan. If we take you with us, that will give the Queen the opportunity to sever Wonderland from Auradon since she'll get all her subjects back. We can't give her the satisfaction." Will frowns at Aaron.

Carlos offers Morgan a hand and helps her off the ground. Jay walks up and stands behind Will, preparing for a fist fight... even though he was preparing for a fight from Aaron, which was highly unlikely.

Evie sneaks in from behind Jay and offers up her own thoughts by saying, "You are the son of her greatest enemy! She would never get the satisfaction if she didn't have you! Am I right?" Evie smiles.

"Well you aren't wrong. Maybe just a tad bit mad," Ben chuckles.

Evie smiles lightly, but threateningly, at Ben and says, "What I mean is that Aaron might stop the Queen's plans completely if she doesn't have him."

Morgan nods, agreeing with Evie. She mentions that Aaron must be a vital part of the Queen's plans if she has gone through all this trouble to get all of us.

"Him and Claire both," Jay grumbles.

Will shrugs, "It makes sense that she would go after Claire first. She is the daughter of Cheshire Cat, the one person in Wonderland besides the White Queen that the citizens might follow into a fight. She's a very powerful person up there, if I remember correctly."

Aaron shakes his head and sits back down on the bed. "If I am not going, then who else is going to go? That leaves only three of you while five of us are here. No one else can handle the magic or paths of Wonderland except for Mal and us. Why can't we just go with the smart decision and bring me?"

Everyone looks around at each other, realizing that Aaron was right. Will, Morgan, Claire, and Aaron all knew the streets of Wonderland as well as possible, and could navigate around the magic that they might come across. Wonderland was a crazy place, and was obviously unfit for a number of people standing in the room. Mal knew what she was doing with her spell book, so she was a chance they were willing to take in bringing to Wonderland. However, they were baffled by who offered to attend the journey with them.

"I'll go," the voice rings from the center of the room.

Morgan looks next to her, to see Carlos raising his hand high in the air. Jay nearly starts dying laughing, but instead coughs into his hand to stop himself. Mal crosses her arms looking at Carlos skeptically as Aaron puts a hand over his forehead and eyes and starts shaking his head again.

"Why?" Will continues, "Literally, why?"

Carlos shrugs and says, "There are a bunch of people in Wonderland that can turn into dogs right? I can not only speak dog, but I can also manage my way around with my Tourney skills!"

Jay has to take a deep breath in order to keep his laughs in. Will opens his mouth to argue with Aaron, but Morgan speaks first.

"Ok."

Will closes his mouth abruptly, looking at Morgan as if she had turned into a teapot. Aaron jerks upwards and gestures his arm towards Carlos, seeming to say it all with his expression. It looked as if he was trying to say a range of things from "Seriously?" to "This is stupid."

Morgan shrugs, "What? We have to get this over with it and leave by the end of tea time! We have to get Claire back."

Aaron starts to argue, but Will stands up and looks towards Aaron, seemingly finalizing the decision. Whatever look he gave Aaron nearly broke his heart, but the VKs were unaware of whatever he had done since he was facing away from them. Aaron sighs and puts his arm down and completes the decision by saying, "Go get our Cat back."

With that, everyone rushes out of the room and Mal already has her spell book in her hand.

The group stops as they get to the edge of the beach, presumably right below the entrance of the floating island of Wonderland. By now, there were no clouds in the sky and only the dark of night and the bottom tip of the island could be seen in the distance. A swirling dirt and grass tip sank far above the sea and looked as if it was as far away as the Isle of the Lost, which was also visible from their distance.

The Isle was dimly lighted with only a few purple and red lights providing enough light to see it. The children stood looking at it from afar and thought about their childhood on the Isle. As bad as it was, they somehow still missed their parents. The Wonderland kids on the other hand looked towards the Isle and thought of how they wanted to visit it and cause some mischief. Morgan seemed to be the only one not distracted by the ghosts of the Isle.

"So how are we going to get from down here to up there?" Morgan wonders.

Mal turns to Morgan and looks up at the dirt tip sticking out from the sky. "I have an idea."

Mal brings her fingers up to her mouth and she blows on them, making a faint whistle that was high enough to pierce their ears if it was any louder. Carlos takes his hand and rubs his ear, acting as if he was a dog that had heard the high pitched noise. They stood there for a few moments in silence until they saw a thin red and purple object flying towards them in the sky. The object seemed to have golden thistles on the corners and was flapping in the wind like a parchment of paper. As soon as it came close enough to the children, they knew immediately what it was.

"Is that Aladdin's magic carpet?" Aaron asks.

The corners of Mal's lips turn upwards and she nods to Aaron.

The magic carpet soars towards them and stops in front of Mal, hovering just above the ground. Will reaches out and puts his hand on the carpet, and it ripples like water at his touch and Will takes his hand away and chuckles.

"You want us to ride on this?" Will quirks an eyebrow at Mal.

Morgan walks up and stands next to Will and asks him, "Why not?"

"Well, it seems... flimsy."

Mal rolls her eyes, "Woman up, rabbit. We'll be fine. Just don't fall off."

Carlos' mouth drops open as he starts pestering Mal about being able to fall off the carpet. Will and Morgan both walk over to Aaron who had his arms crossed angrily and standing in the back of the group.

Will puts a hand on his shoulder and Aaron sighs and looks up at them.

"Don't abandon me, you hear? You both and Claire have to come back," Aaron says almost in a whisper.

Will chuckles to himself. "We would never leave you, bud."

"Besides, we can't be a full group without our book caterpillar!" Morgan adds with a smile.

Aaron looks at her confused for a moment then laughs. "Oh you mean book worm."

Morgan frowns and brings her hand up to her chin, thinking. Then, Morgan shakes her head and confirms her answer by saying, "No, I'm pretty sure it's book caterpillar."

Aaron smacks his hand on his forehead and continues to laugh at Morgan. Morgan gives Aaron a hug and walks back over to the others around the carpet after saying a quick goodbye. Will puts a hand on Aaron's shoulder and frowns, "Don't go anywhere."

Aaron frowns and nods. Will smirks and puts a hand on the top of Aaron's head and ruffles his hair around so it looks like a bird's nest. Will walks away and does a small wave as he walks away.

"Will!" Aaron yells back.

"See ya, mate!" Will yells back as he climbs on the carpet behind Carlos and Morgan just behind him. Mal gets on the front and waves to the others.

Ben announces to them like a proper king, "Bring Claire back and stay safe. No matter what you face up there, I have faith that you will make it through. Good luck."

"Bye Ben!" Carlos smiles like a little kid and waves goodbye, "Someone feed Dude for me!"

Mal laughs and shoots off on the magic carpet and they soar up to the infamous Wonderland. They hope they will return to their friends, and they hope that with them they'll bring Claire back.

Now they need a little bit more than hope, however.
