His body felt heavy. That was the only way he could describe the feeling. Like even if he wanted to move any of his limbs right now, he probably wouldn't be able to very easily. They all seem to weigh over three tons each at the moment.
He could see light from behind his eyelids, making it so all he sees is red. But it's bright, so he turns his head away from where it's coming from. Even simply turning his head hurts, makes him feel dizzy.
He has no idea how long he's been out for, but he's to the point where he doesn't care to be awake anymore. He just wants to sleep.
But more sleep was proving to be impossible as his senses forced him to come to.
It started with the sound of joyful birds chirping in the distance, which was actually quite peaceful at first. Then, a consistent light knocking could be heard. It sounded as though a branch was lightly brushing against a window as it swayed in the wind.
Wait, am I inside somewhere? Wooyoung startled at the idea, but he still refused to open his eyes, choosing to rely on his other awakening senses instead. He was too afraid to see where he was.
Wooyoung could hear voices, but they seemed far away, or perhaps behind a closed door. He tried to listen to the sound of their voices. He wondered what they were saying and if their voices were recognizable.
He was scared that it was the alpha's... but this place felt different than the old shack. He reached down, letting his fingers gently caress the surface that he rested on. It was soft. He felt clean cotton sheets beneath his fingertips. Now that he's noticing, he seems to be in a bed, nicer than the hospital beds they were given at the facility, and way better than the old, dirty mattress at the alpha shack.
He sniffed the air a few times. The lack of mildew, smoke, and dust in the air also confirmed that he hadn't been brought back to the alphas' hiding spot. The air here was cleaner. The Omega could breathe clearer. Though, it wasn't the sterile hospital smell like the facility either. This was comfortable, but he couldn't place it. It was totally unrecognizable with a touch of vanilla.
What happened to me? A million different possibilities started to spiral through Wooyoung's head, making him feel even more dizzy. Good thing he was already laying down.
Finally, the curiosity got the best of him. The young Omega slowly peeked his eyes open, blinking them a few times as they adjusted to the light. The Omega let his eyes wander around the room, taking in every detail without moving his head too much.
The light he had been seeing only comes from a small window on the left-hand side of the room, covered by a sheer, white curtain. There is, in fact, a small branch hitting against it.
The room was petite with a small ensuite bathroom with only a sink and a toilet. There weren't many things taking up the small space. He laid in a full-sized bed, covered in white sheets and a beige and white striped comforter. Beside the bed sat a small wooden table with a desk lamp on top of it. A wooden fold-out chair, decorated with a fluffy pillow, was in the corner of the room, and across from the window on the other wall sat a small dresser.
Even with minimal belongings inside, the space still felt lived-in. This was someone's home and someone's room, or so it appeared.
Wooyoung tried to recall what had happened just before he had blacked out, but his mind was completely blank. He can't remember what had happened. He only remembers running. It was dark and cold and-
A gentle knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. Wooyoung wasn't sure what he should do. He had no idea who was at the door. Should he pretend to be asleep?
Before he could make a decision, the door was slowly pushed open, as though the person behind it was trying to make little sound. "Oh! You're awake!" A low, but kind, voice called in a whisper.
With Wooyoung's recent experiences, he couldn't help but duck underneath the covers, pulling the thick blanket over his head. He whimpered as he felt a sharp pain in his right wrist from the movement.
Only now did he realize that his wrist was wrapped in bandages, but he vaguely remembers injuring it.
"Please, be careful!" The intruder worried, shuffling toward the bed. But this might be their home, so really he might be the intruder.
Wooyoung could feel a dip in the bed, meaning the visitor had sat beside him. "It's okay... you don't have to be afraid. I promise."
"I don't believe you!" Wooyoung shouted, pushing himself further away from where the stranger sat. He was nearing the edge of the bed, but he didn't care. "Get away!"
"Okay, okay. Here..." the stranger maintained a calm voice, "I'll move over here, okay? It's okay."
Wooyoung felt the person move from the bed, so he slowly peeked his eyes over the blanket. He watched as the stranger set a glass of water on the bedside table and moved toward the chair in the corner.
The smell of vanilla blasted throughout the room. The wolf must be trying to calm him with his pheromones. The scent made Wooyoung realize...
He's an Omega too.
Now that Wooyoung can get a good look at the stranger, his whole physique resembles that of an Omega. From his petite shoulders and slim arms, to his thin waist and smooth skin. The Omega had soft and extraordinarily beautiful facial features. His birthmark was his only "imperfection" but the mark only made him even more attractive. It was charming really.
"Is this okay? With me over here?" The Omega asked. His voice was low compared to the few other Omegas Wooyoung has met.
Wooyoung nodded his head cautiously, afraid to take his eyes off of him.
"I brought you some water," he pointed toward the side table. "You must be really thirsty."
At that, Wooyoung realized that he is absolutely parched. His mouth feels incredibly dry, and his throat is scratchy. But still, Wooyoung didn't want to immediately trust this person.
"I promise that it's just water," the wolf in the corner spoke up. He was aware of Wooyoung's hesitation. "I'm not trying to poison you."
Carefully, Wooyoung picked up the glass in a shaky hand, bringing the clear liquid to his nostrils and sniffing it a few times. It didn't smell out of the ordinary. He brought the glass down to his lips only accepting a tiny sip before deciding that it's okay. He downed over half of the glass in a few gulps.
The other Omega grinned at the scene. His smile was kind. "What's your name?" He asked once Wooyoung set the glass back down.
Wooyoung just shook his head in response. He can't trust anyone, not even a seemingly kind Omega. How can he be sure that this isn't some sort of scheme to lure him in? This Omega is probably a prisoner here too, so he can't trust him.
"Okay. You don't have to speak to me yet. I understand." The male sighed before standing up. "Just get some rest, okay? I'll be back here in a little bit to bring you some food and more water."
Wooyoung just watched the other Omega headed toward the door. "I'm Yeosang by the way!" He flashed a wide grin before exiting the room and latching the door behind him.
Did he just lock the door!? Wooyoung cursed. He knew that there must be something off about this place. He knew they must be keeping him held captive here.
Wooyoung threw the covers off of his body causing goosebumps to rise on his skin from the sudden temperature change. He hopped out of the bed only to realize just how weak he really was. Just standing hurt his legs to the point that they shook. He tried taking a step but a jolt of pain went up his backside, causing him to tumble down to the carpeted floor.
He'd probably be covered in rug burns if it wasn't for the soft linen pants and cotton t-shirt he was wearing.
Wooyoung's eyes widened at the thought of someone unknown dressing him while unconscious. His skin appeared cleaner too, so they must've washed him. He shook his head and went back to his objective. Escaping.
He shuffled across the floor, being cautious of his injured wrist, toward the bedroom door. He reached up to test his theory and it was true. The door was locked, and he'd imagine that there were probably wolves guarding behind the door.
The only other option he had was the window. He crept to the window, pulling himself up enough to see that he's thankfully on a ground floor. And from what little he can see, no one is guarding outside here. He tugged upward on the base of the window, only to begrudgingly realize that it was locked as well.
Of course the window was locked too.
By this point, Wooyoung had used what little energy he had left. There was no point in trying anymore for right now. He was exhausted.
He struggled to pull himself back into the comfy bed and let sleep take over him.

Yeosang remained true to his words. A couple hours later, the Omega returned with a tray of food and another tall glass of water.
Wooyoung had awoken by the sound of the door unlatching. With heavy eyes, he silently watched as the, who appeared to be, slightly older Omega neatly placed a plate of meat and vegetables on the side table. There was a second plate on the tray, which made Wooyoung realize that the other had intended on staying.
"Mind if I eat a meal with you?" Yeosang beamed.
Reluctantly, Wooyoung nodded his head once, knowing that the older would stay even if he had said no.
At first, Wooyoung wanted to refuse to partake in any of the food, but the smell wafting through the room and the way Yeosang ate the meal so deliciously made him salivate. His stomach rumbled, completely betraying him.
So he caved, bringing the plate to his lap and digging in. After the first bite, the Omega knew he wouldn't be able to stop. He was starving.
"Be careful. You don't want to give yourself a stomach ache." Yeosang pointed out with a mouthful of food.
The two continued to eat silently, which Wooyoung was grateful for. He was glad that the older didn't try to engage in any more conversation with him. When they were both finished, Yeosang retrieved their dishes and bid Wooyoung a goodnight.
This became an every day routine for them. Yeosang would stop by at least three times a day just to eat his meals with Wooyoung. There was never much conversation, just a comfortable silence. Sometimes Yeosang would start some minimal chit-chat, talking about something funny that had happened to him or about the weather.
He's learned some things about Yeosang and this place just from listening too. Apparently there are four other wolves that live in this house with Yeosang, including his biological older brother who happens to be the Alpha. He also learned that Yeosang is expecting, which explained his interesting scent.
Wooyoung appreciated how Yeosang never pushed him to speak. Somehow, it made Wooyoung want to trust the other Omega more. And the more time they spent together, the more Wooyoung realized he was actually starting to enjoy Yeosang's visits.
After a couple of weeks, while Yeosang calmly ate his oatmeal for breakfast, he finally had the courage to say. "Wooyoung."
Yeosang looked up with widened eyes at the younger. He's only heard the weak Omega's voice once during their first meeting. "W-what?" He was taken a bit off guard.
"My name... is Wooyoung."
Yeosang's face morphed from one of shock to one of pure joy, his smile stretching from ear to ear. "It's an honor, Wooyoung."

Sorry if this chapter is a little slower. It was kind of a necessary filler chapter. I want Wooyoung to be slowly introduced to everyone. I'm not sure if this chapter turned out exactly how I wanted, but I hope you all like it!
Please let me know what you all think! I feel like I've been struggling lately 😅
