Holiday-3

DO YOU GUYS LIKE THE NEW COVER! I personally like it better. I have to change the name too now though. (New name will be The moon and the star)

Be prepared for the many POV changes in this chapter. I hope you guys enjoy it, even if it is kind of rushed.

Remus' POV,

The next few days went by with a new feeling hanging between the two boys. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was just... different. Almost like they were more comfortable with each other, closer in some weird way.

Remus felt his chest tighten. It was nice. He had Sirius all to him self, as selfish as it is, he liked it. They spent their evenings chatting while the young Black practiced for quidditch and he watched, offering tips and sometimes joking around with random commentary. In the mornings they's often just lye in bed, speaking in quiet words about how they wished James and Peter were there or how pretty the sunrise was.

The topic of Sirius' abuse wasn't brought up often but when it was it was only for a short period. Remus tried his best to comfort his favorite bloke, giving him advice, making him cocoa, sometimes just listening and wrapping him in his arms when he started to cry.

Remus noticed Sirius' little flinches more now that he knew where the came from. Every time he saw it happen he would note down what it was he did that scared Sirius and would try to be wary of that action from then on.

Other than that, life was blissful. He caught himself on many occasions just staring at Sirius for long periods of time. It wasn't his fault his grey eyes looked so nice in the evening sun, or that he had to look so damn adorable with his hair pulled back into a ponytail.

Of course, all goods things came to an end as the day Remus had been dreading came upon them. The full moon.

He was glad he'd at least have Sirius with him but he couldn't help but fear how much worse things would be without the rest of his buddies. Besides, if it was just him and Sirius what if he hurt Padfoot and no one would be there to help him. What then?

"Remus?" Madame Pomphrey peeked her head though the door. She attempted a sad smile as her eyes met Remus'. "Darlin' if you could come with me."

He solemnly nodded and got up from his bed. His gaze caught a glance a Sirius who was sitting in his own bed. The long haired boy gave him a gesture that to anyone else would look like an encouraging thumbs up, but to Remus it was a promise; a promise he'd be there.

The taller boy sighed and prepared himself for the long night ahead.

It'll be over soon, he told himself. Soon. Just one night.

Remus held his head a little higher for in a few hours he would have no control. He would be a monster.

Sirius' POV,

In the form of Padfoot, Sirius crept through hogsmead in the cold dead of the night. He rather take the tunnel under the whomping willow but without Peter and his smaller rat form, he couldn't reach the knot in the wood without risking injury. Nevertheless, he knew of a loose board in the shrieking shack that he could easily get in through.

He ducked as he slid through the pliable board. He whinnied as the deafening howls of his friend could be heard from deeper in the long since abandoned house. He turned around a corner and in the center of the room, there he was. Moony.

The werewolf stared at him and an understanding seemed to pass between them. Friend, not foe. The wolf howled, and not out of pain this time. Happily, Padfoot barked back and the night carried on.

It was almost the same as every other full moon, the wolf and the dog running in circles around the room, playing and wrestling. It was as good as it could get for the horrible reality that the form of the wolf hurt Remus.

Slowly, the sun started to peak out from the horizon. At this point, both the wolf and dog were curled up on the ground together, soft snores coming from the both of them. Padfoot awoke to the howls of pain from his friend.

Moony whimpered and cried out as he painfully shifted back into Remus. Sirius stared in shock at the new scars and reopened old ones pooring blood from Remus' back. He crept forward as Remus withered on he ground, half howl half screams erupting from his throat.

It hurt Sirius to see his friend, the love of his life in so much agony. Something tightened in his chest as he reached his paw out to Remus, hoping he could do something for comfort. Normally by then James would have dragged Sirius away but his best mate wasn't there then to keep him from sitting down next to Remus, getting closer than he should.

"Arghh!" Remus cried out as his hand jerked, his long nails not yet retracted clashing with Sirius skin, tearing it. Sirius yelped and quickly jumped away. Upon examining the wound he saw blood was staining Padfoots fur.

I should leave, he though, knowing it was the best option. But what if he needs me? What if-

The jingling of keys unlocked the padlock on the shacks door could be picked up on Padfoots sensitive ears. Madame Pomphrey.

Sirius made up his mind, deciding the infirmary woman would take care of Remus. He ran out of the shack but not without one last glance back at the boy lying in ruins on the floor. The broken boy, his blood spilling across the wood floor. So strong. His strong Remus.

-:-

Sirius sat by Remus' bed side, waiting for the boy to wake.

It was half way through the next day and his anxiety still had not calmed down. He needed Remus to wake up soon so he could make sure he was alright. He needed to tell him so many things. He needed to be certain his friend was safe.

Over the hours that Sirius had sat by his loves side he had heard many things he probably shouldn't have. Small whispers from whatever nightmare. He knew Remus dealt with insecurities about his furry problem but the way he was muttering in his sleep made Sirius worry more than normal.

"Monster," Remus mumbled causing Sirius to grip the hand of his he was holding tighter. "Monster. I'm a monster."

Sirius layed his head on Remus' shoulder. He wished he could do something about his nightmare but he had to let him sleep, he needed to recover. "Remus," he whispered, "Remus I'm here. Wake up, please. It's okay."

"Siri..." Remus groaned and his eye's fluttered as he stirred in the bed.

Sirius gasped and squeezed his hand. "Remus!"

"Ow," he clamped his free hand over his ear that Sirius had just yelled in. His eyes snapped open. Remus scanned the room in what looked like panic. He smiled as his gaze landed on Sirius, the longer haired boys heart tightened.

"Hi," Remus spoke.

Sirius wanted to tackle him in a hug but refrained knowing it probably wouldn't be very good for his injuries. Instead he settled for simply whispering a short, "Morning Moons," in return.

The taller boy groaned as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He handed the boy a glass of water and watched him gulp down the entire thing before taking it from him again and going to fill it up again at the sink two beds down.

"Does it hurt?" he asked as he turned on the tap, the cold water chilling his hands through the glass.

Remus hummed. "Hm, sort of. Just as much as usual I guess."

"Sorry mate," he muttered and started walking back to him. He held the cup out to him. "Drink. You need more water to stay hydrated."

The recovering werewolf reached forward to take the glass when he halted to a stop, his eyes trained on a spot an Sirius' arm. "What's that."

The young Black studied the fear growing in his friends eyes. He glanced down at the scratch from the night before that Remus was so distracted by. Oh no.

"It's fine, really. Don't worry about i-" Sirius started but was rudely cut off.

"It's from me, isn't it?" He whispered. When he didn't answer the Lupin looked up, his eyes full of anger. No, not anger. Fright. "It's from me! I-I... I hurt you!"

"No, no, no. Remus, I got in the way and-"

"Don't make excuses to make me feel better!" He screamed and scrambled a little farther away from him on the infirmary bed. "I don't care whether it was an accident or on purpose! It's still my fault! I'm still a monster!"

Sirius felt helpless when he saw the tears starting to pool in Remus' eyes. He felt his heart ache, and not in a good way.

He hated seeing Remus so broken. He wanted to show him how much he though of him, he wanted the boy to know he was important to so many people.

"Remus!" He grabbed his face and forced him to look him in the eye. "Listen to me."

The wolf boy gulped and stared at Sirius. The Black felt nervous, more nervous than he'd felt in his entire life. He was really going to do this. Oh Merlin.

"Moony, I don't hate you," he admitted. "I could never hate you. I don't care about some dumb scratch on my arm. I care about you. I really really care about you Rem. I... I love you."

His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to say, "Sirius I-"

"No," he cut him off. "Listen, I'm not finished. You, Moony, are one of the most amazing people in the world. You bring joy to not just my world but to everyone around you. You are not a monster. I wouldn't love a monster and I love you. I love you and not as a friend Remus."

The other boy could do nothing but gape at him. His nerves were on fire as he panicked about how he would react to the confession. Why wasn't he saying anything? Did he do something wrong? Oh Merlin, he should not have said any of that.

Out of nowhere he was engulfed in Remus' arms, his face being pressed against the taller boys chest. He could hear sniffling coming from him as he brought his arms up to hug him. The two sat there for what felt like hours, just clinging to each other and staining their cloths with tears holding to many emotions to possible understand and make sense of.

It was Remus who first pulled away from the embrace as he brought his sleeve up to wipe the tears from the corners of his eyes. "Y-you- I don't- how?" The sandy haired boy struggled to find the right words and Sirius had to bite back an endearing chuckle.

Sirius put his hand on his shoulder, bringing the other one up to cup his face. Remus leaned into the touch, a look of content flashing across his features. "I. Love. You." Sirius clarified. "There is no reason behind it, I just do. I love every damn thing about you Moony."

Remus let out an adorable little hiccup as he sniffled again. He closed his eyes and a faint smile spread across his mouth. "I love you too, Sirius."

And then they were kissing. It was only for a moment and Sirius isn't so sure who leaned in first but he does know, despite it being short, it was probably the best kiss he'd have for a long time. He breathed in Remus, loving his scent and his warmth. Loving everything.

They pulled away at the same time, bright smiles staining their expressions. Giggles erupted from the both of them and Sirius felt his chest tighten. This was perfect, for now at least. He could ask for no better friend- no, boyfriend. Just the thought made his smile grow ten times wider.

Remus pulled back the blanket of his bed. "Hop in."

He didn't hesitate as he crawled into bed with his new boyfriend. He didn't know what would happen next; how he would still have to face his trauma and Remus his own as well, but what he did know was that right then he couldn't have been happier, tucked into his boyfriends side as they slowly started to doze off to the sound of the others heartbeat. That was all he could think of as his eyes fell closed and he fell into the darkness of sleep, a smile grazing his lips and his heart warm.

That's it for this one shot. Greater than Shakespeare, right? Hehe, I know, this last chapter was rushed but that is a-okay!
