I took a little journey to the unknown
The steep mountain hill was eerily quiet and the trees that littered the grounds swayed in the midnight breeze that cooled down the humid summer air. One arrow shot through the sky, landing on a tree stump, millimeters away from an exhausted boy's hand, which was resting there as he tried to catch his breath from his helpless flee attempt.
The bright yellow eyes burned through the darkness, reflecting the moon that gazed down from the sky, the moon that gave the poor human reckless power. Another arrow whistled through the air, before it now hit the boy in the shoulder. A moan of pain was heard, mingling together with an angry growl. The boy grabbed ahold of the arrow and snapped it in half.
"There he is!"
A boy of merely sixteen years old, who went by the name of Jeon Jungkoook, got up at the voices and tried to locate the direction from where they stemmed. He couldn't wait too long. Another arrow was pulled, the bow cracking underneath the pressure, and then the cord snapped as it fired.
He jumped to the side and began running, hoping to whatever deity out there that he wouldn't run right into the hunters' grasp. Another arrow hit the tree beside him, and one flew right over his head, the sharp arrowhead plunging into the earth. Jungkook could hear the dogs behind him, and knew they were sent after him in a futile attempt to stop him.
These hunters thought they needed to stop him from killing, to stop the dangerous monster from living on beside humanity. In reality, these hunters were the dangerous creatures. Jungkook had never intentionally hurt anyone, in wolf form he meant, and so these hunters were really just hunting the wrong person.
He came on to a clearing and froze, his feet stuttering at the realization that a man was awaiting him. The smooth barrel of a shotgun aimed straight at Jungkook's head. The barrel was only a few feet away and the moon's light was reflected in its metallic exterior. The man smirked, and got out a bright yellow bullet before he threw it to the ground, letting the neon color mesmerize the werewolf.
Jungkook didn't know what it was, but he got a bad feeling about the color, as if the bullet itself was taunting him with death. Jungkook was sure he wouldn't die by a mere bullet. But these were skilled hunters, they wouldn't just hunt with mere bullets.
The dogs that were after him howled, the sound piercing through the air. Their growls and roars messed with his head, and the sound of their paws got closer and closer. Jungkook was aware he wouldn't have long until the other hunters would arrive as well.
The hunter cocked his gun and grinned, "You'll make a nice prized possession on my trophy wall."
The gunshot was fired and resonated through the air, though the bullet didn't hit its intended target.
Jungkook had held his gasp, eyes squeezed shut and hands balled, nails digging into his palm, preparing for a painful and slow death.
When he opened his eyes, still waiting for the pain to explode across his torso he was met with a broad muscled back. The figure in front of him was holding the bullet in between his fingers, as if he had caught it mid-air, and then crushed it into his palm.
"The alpha", the man lowered his gun, eyes widening with amazement, "It's been awhile since we've seen you. Did you come for your beta?"
Jungkook frowned, his head tilting in confusion automatically, but the figure in front of him kept quiet and only neared the other man before letting out a deep roar that seemed to stem from deep within. Jungkook's knees wobbled at the anger of the voice and his legs felt like giving away to such power.
"Run, boy."
Jungkook's feet were glued to the ground, and his brain took a moment to process the demand. Then the figure looked back, red eyes ablaze and scent demanding, and Jungkook started running for his life. He heard the dogs come into the clearing, the roar of a powerful creature, and then shots being fired.
Jungkook didn't know what had happened. But he was sure he owed that person his life.

"Jungkook."
The boy looked up at the other male, who had been circling the tree he was chained to. "What?"
"It's been one year and still, I have to chain you against a tree during the full moon", the guy said with a furrowed forehead "Does this make me a bad alpha?"
The boy watched the man halt in front of him, his white hair reflected in the light of the full moon. Namjoon was Jungkook's saviour a year ago, and had become somewhat of a mentor-like figure for the young beta. He was a pureblood alpha, four years older, and he'd become a source of guidance for the younger. Without Namjoon he would have never learned how to control his urges. And without Namjoon his head would have been serving as a trophy on some sick man's wall.
Jungkook snorted, "I think it has less to do with you, and more to do with me."
"I feel bad having to chain you to some poor tree each time though", Namjoon frowned and he took a step closer to inspect the restraints, concerned. "Are you alright, pup? Are the chains too tight?"
The alpha's hands trailed lower to check the chains, their bodies closing in. The soft touch felt almost strange in the tense situation, then again, the full moon was always a time like this. Namjoon always tried to be kind, tried to stay soft, but Jungkook didn't need that when he was changing. He needed control, or someone to help him control his hunger.
Namjoon felt the other squirm. A growl then rippled through the air.
"Too loose", Jungkook replied, his canines growing against his will, "Better make sure I won't escape."
Namjoon chuckled, but the hand that came up to Jungkook's chest was harsh when it pushed the beta against the tree. "Easy there pup. Wouldn't want you to face off against an alpha now."
Jungkook bared his teeth, eyes gaining their yellow glow, though he knew not to challenge an alpha, his alpha.
Jungkook hadn't been bitten by Namjoon, so he wasn't his actual beta, but he had been adopted by Namjoon into his pack - though Namjoon's pack only consisted of Jungkook at the moment.
Alphas were stronger with a pack, and betas were stronger when they had an alpha. After Namjoon had saved Jungkook from his demise, he had found the poor boy by the river, spent and hurt by the chase. Sixteen-year-old Jungkook had only just been bitten, and it had been his second full moon when the hunters had found him.
Seventeen year old Jungkook was part of a pack now. The advice and lessons from Namjoon, who'd been born as a werewolf, was helping him to gain control over his powers and learn how to evade the hunters.
Jungkook dropped his head, his chest heaving from the power surging through his veins. His control was slipping with the second like a cord being pulled from his grasp, his fingers unable to hold on for much longer. He knew the moon was playing tricks with his head, and when he glanced just underneath his fringe at the alpha, he saw the male as unbothered as ever.
"I don't understand. How are you so calm right now? It affects you as well right?" His own heartbeat was growing so loud that it overpowered every other sound that he should've heard. It was always like this, his heart acting up, his fingers twitching with the need to pull every living thing apart with his bare hands.
A groan of pain slipped through his lips as his claws started growing, ripping his skin apart. A soft hand, so gentle, touched the side of his neck, and Namjoon slipped even closer, his nose now scenting the other. The beta flinched at the sudden tenderness, in the midst of the chaos that was his mind. He squirmed and trembled underneath the man's dominance, the wolfish side of him afraid that his alpha would sink his teeth into him. Eventually his human side gave in, head dropping down in surrender as he snuggled up to his alpha and mentor
"I was born like this Kook. I've been trained by my parents since I was a toddler. In werewolf terms you are a toddler now, so no whining about me being fine at full moons. This is about you now." Namjoon's voice was calm and collected, as if his voice wanted to show how in control he was of his wolf during the full moon. As the alpha he always tried reassuring his beta how things would get better, but Jungkook was aware that each full moon took a bit of will power from Namjoon as well. It was a struggle for each wolf, pure blooded or not.
Jungkook knew the answer to his next question since he had asked Namjoon this often enough but he tried another time. "Namjoon, will there ever be others?" Namjoon sighed, way too familiar with this line of conversation.
"Jungkook-"
"So I won't be lonely stuck to this tree?" Jungkook whined and he tried pouting, even when the canines hurt his mouth.
Namjoon took a step back, his hand still resting on the boy's neck to comfort him. "We've talked about this before, cub."
"I know you won't change anyone, but what if we run into another werewolf?" Jungkook begged, "Will you help them just like you helped me?"
"I don't know", the alpha let his hand drop now, "Besides, you won't be stuck to this tree for that long. Soon, you'll be able to control your shift."
Jungkook presented him with a look that spoke more words than he could say, "That wasn't a real answer."
The alpha raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're going to be able to share your alpha with others?"
Namjoon was aware Jungkook wanted a bigger pack. Not because he didn't enjoy the presence and attention of his alpha. He loved the attention that was solely focused on him, but he didn't want to suffer through these nights alone. Nights when the moon was full, and his control weak.
"Of course!"
Namjoon cracked a smile, watching the excited puppy.
