Bad things, happen to good people.



December, 24th, 1997.
A young family arrives home, from a long journey, spending Christmas with their friends. Their young daughter is still wide awake. 
The father begins to light the fire, as the mother tends to her child. All is quiet... all is well snowflake filling the cold night air.

They couldn't have known what awaited them in the darkness.. what had been lurking in the forest.  They never stood a chance, both watching as their daughter cooed in aw at the lights. They didn't see it coming, before it was to late Its teeth bared as it crept in from the open door, monstrous growls escaping its teeth.

With one quick lunge the beast latched onto the mother back claws scratching, blood pooled to the floor as she dropped her body to the floor protecting her child whos wails of fear shrieked like a banshee through the night.  Hatchet in hand the father tried... oh did he try... to save his wife, swing after swing it only enraged the beast.

As her parents laid still, the crimson liquid seeping from there wounds the child try to wake them, begging them for help. As the beast stalked forward she stumbled back, crawling under the tree. The beasts golden orbs locked with her ocean pools,  and for a moment the child saw a hint of humanity as the beast sat letting out a painful howl into the night.
