Chapter One: Waking Up.
"Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her, but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child. Once she gave her a little riding hood of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else; so she was always called 'Little Red Riding Hood.'"
My eyes snapped open and I jerked up while things tried to pull me back, gasping for air I looked at the room around me in confusion before I started to panic.
Shaking I looked around myself, my eyes make contact with a shocked girl as the heart monitor went haywire.
We stared at each other for a moment before she jumped out of her chair, the book making a loud thud against the floor as she ran out of the room. Looking around the room some more I pulled the blanket off of myself - only to realize I was connected by wires.
"Holy crap." I looked up to see a shocked brown haired woman in a nurse uniform staring at me, she shakes herself and hurried over to me, "I need you to lie back down honey." she gently puts her hands on my shoulders and tried to push me down.
"I need some help in here!" she yells as I laid down after staring at her weirdly, she starts checking me - making me think this was either her first with a patient or she's just a natural freaky outy person.
Suddenly doctor's swarmed around the bed and a torch was pointed in my eyes, "Sweetie, can you tell me your name?"
"I'm Caitlin - I - where's my friends?!" I heard the heart monitor start to go up and the doctor's tried to calm me down.
"You've been in a house fire, Caitlin, don't-"
"Fire?" I paused in confusion.
"Yes, you and your family were in a fire-"
"What, no, I was-"
"You've been in a coma for the past six years-"
"She doesn't need to hear that!" a nurse spat at the doctor, "The poor girl just woke up!"
"What about my family?" confusion still wrapped around me as I stared at the fretting over me, I swear I was in an earth quake with my best friends.
"Caitlin Hale, you need to calm down." a doctor orders and I froze, my last name isn't Hale.
What the hell is going on.
~
"You don't remember anything?" a policeman asks me and I sat on the bed, still stunned and in shock.
"No sir." I stared up at him, "Err, my family, sir?"
"What?" he breaks his concentration away from writing in his notepad and looks at me.
"My family, the doctors said there was one member of my family still alive."
He went silent, staring at me, "Your brother, Derek Hale."
"Oh... where is he?"
"He's currently a missing person, as well as a person wanted for questioning about some cases that has happened recently."
What the hell kind of family do I have in this weird ass universe exactly?
"I - um..." I frowned, staring at the thin blankets that were over my bottom half of my body, "When will I get out of here?"
"The doctor's said you seem very healthy, all they need to do is a few more tests and you can leave-"
"And where will I go?" I asked.
He blinks at me, "I haven't thought of that..." he mumbles to himself, "Well, I'll have to get back to you on that one. I'll be back tomorrow."
"Bye." I folded my hands in my lap as I stared at the wall in front of me, wondering what was going on.
"Hello." my eyes snapped over to the brown haired nurse from before.
"Hi."
"I'm Melissa McCall."
"I'm Caitlin Hale... apparently." I muttered the last part to myself and she moves to my side and stares down at me.
"How are you doing?"
"I'm doing well, how are you?" I asked her, feeling a tad bit awkward.
"I'm good." she smiles at me, "How are you feeling?"
"I feel weird." I answered honestly, causing her to laugh, but then she just stared at me.
Awkwardly I laid in the bed, waiting for her to say something.
"What's your favorite color?"
"Red."
"Favorite animal?"
"Chameleon." I answered her quick fire of questions, and suddenly I realized it was silent. Blinking I looked over to see the nice woman fast asleep in the chair beside my bed, staring at her I sighed and sunk into the bed.
My names isn't Caitlin Hale. My name is Caitlin Brooks.
I'm sixteen, I wasn't in a house fire but an earth quake and I'm not from America, I'm from Australia.
So what the bloody hell is going on here.
[A/N Chapter will become longer, I promise :)]
