I wanted to watch her crawl away.

I wanted to hunt her down,but I knew she'd be back.

Everyone knew about the engagement.

That didn't make a lot of sense to me, but we had mates and that made no sense to me, either.

Nevertheless, I sensed her fear, but something else--something more than fear.

Wanting, longing, a desire to be free.

Free like her arch enemies--the wolves.

She'd be back and then..

Then, I would make my move.

I couldn't believe I'd gotten that close to the alpha and he wasn't even...completely cruel.
