We snuck out and into the night—menot realizing that tunnels lead all the way to just outside of mykingdom.

"We're almost there, pet.." Zanesaid, holding me close to him as we watched Eugene and Chuck bedragged by some of our pack members, "I am sure your...they won'tbe happy."

"I hear they're just waiting to die,"someone said, "I am sorry for the bluntness, but that's what iscirculating."

I felt nothing—I felt absolutelyNOTHING for the two people I called my parents.

I missed Maggie.

I missed my real mother.

"I know.." Zane squeezed my hand,linking me, "I know you do.."

"They're not going to budge,"I toldhim, "They'll never be sorry for what they've done."

Zane agreed, "No, they won't be. I amsure they're going to die today, pet. My condolences to,-"

"I was never happy—but I recallChuck and he made me happy," I let a tear roll down my cheek, "ButI thought—I thought..I don't remember..."

"You were little," Zane said,"Sometimes things can be erased from our minds as we age."

We eventually made it to the outskirtsof Crimson Fae.

I didn't want to be here—I didn'twant her to be here, but this was something we had to do.

"I know where they are," Zeldawhispered, "We've kept people down there before."

The men spoke ill of my mate's parents,but I cared not.

She trembled alongside me, but kept hercomposure just the same.

"We can kill them—leave them here,it's up to you."

"I need this and so does Chuck."

I didn't like her willingness to be soforgiving of Chuck, but he was her twin.

"Fine," I said, "But you are notgoing to be alone with any of them."

"Even though I can go super, scaryhybrid?"

I smiled, "Even then. I won't let youdie and I won't let this pup die—and I will be damned if they hurtyou anymore than they have."

She kissed me on the cheek, "Thenlet's do this together."

I stood in front of them as Liam heldup Chuck and someone tossed Eugene against the wall.

They looked pathetic—and that theywere.

"Tell me why you've done this."

No answer—not even a glance my way.

"You're dead anyway," I told them,"Might as well go out with some honor."

"And why should we?" Mother—myfake mother—asked, "Why?"

"Lani.."

"No!" Lani screamed at my father,"You have done this to us—to these bastard children of yours."

Father shook his head, "What do youwant?"

"What do we want?" Chuck piped up,"What's rightfully ours!"

"I didn't say you could speak!"Zane slapped him across the face, "Shut the fuck up."

"Your mother was a whore and yourfather couldn't keep it in his pants!" Lani yelped, "We didn'twant you and your mother was getting in the way of ME! I banished thebitch and I needed the two of you to help build alliances with thekingdom, but his dumb ass left and we killed her—couldn't findCharles..."

Chuck tried to lunge at her, but Zaneheld her back.

"You do know this is going to be yourlast day in this world, yes?"I asked.

"Whatever you want to do," Fatherscoffed, "You won't do it, though. You've always been weak."
