"What's on your mind?"

"I feel like we're going to be in trouble."

"Not for a while," I told her, "They won't know you're here."

She looked relieved, but we needed to get out of the tunnels and back to the Den.

"We don't need a ceremony, but the oracles will bless us."

"Does that work? Is that all it takes?"

She looked very relieved that nothing else was going to happen as we freshened up and went back to our cottage.

"I am sorry I can't gather your things."

"I brought what I wanted to," she said, "Nothing else mattered to me."

He saw the terror in my eyes and smiled, "Don't you worry. You'll figure everything out, my pet."

I set up a little snack for us in his cottage as Zane did his Alpha duties, seeing people, making conference calls and setting up the evening's celebration.

"We're safe.." he said, reading my mind, "Have you tried to read mine?"

I shook my head, "I don't want to intrude."

He smiled, "So, you can?"

I nodded, "I can now."

"Don't worry about reading my mind, love," he said, "Some days I won't allow it—and you will learn to turn your link off."

I didn't understand any of that, but I trusted him.

"We're going to teach you all you need to know.."

A commotion could be heard outside as Craig rushed into the cottage, not bothering to knock.

"Her father is at the edge of the forest."

I gasped, but Zane waved him off.

"Let him be there," he said, "He won't know it's her."

Craig sighed, "Are we sure she's safe?"

"She is safe," Zane said, "I am sure you have men scouting."

"I do," Craig smiled at me, "My lady.."

I blushed, "Craig.."

Zane smiled, "Get your men home for the party tonight so the Den can pay their respects to their lead Luna."
