Chapter 1

Wolves howled in the distance as Abigail sat in bed with her blanket over her head. Tiffany, Marie, Elizabeth and Nora did the same.

"So, who's going to tell a story first? Of course it has to be about this terrible piece of junk," Nora asked. The five girls looked around at each other and then back at Nora. There weren't many girls at the orphanage because it had just opened recently, there were other girls before them of course. On the other hand, the boy orphanage had opened a while ago. Marie opened her mouth to speak.

"Just remember, only two stories per night," warned Marie. The other girls nodded and looked as if they were thinking of what story to tell. Tiffany clapped her hands excitedly. The girls looked at her, waiting for her to say something.

Finally, Tiffany spoke. "I got a really good one," Tiffany said. "It's a myth that once spread to all the orphans here in this town. Here we go, once upon a time, there was a little girl named Olivia. Now, Olivia loved to go on trips to the park with her family. So one day, they decided to go there, but it took 20 minuets to get there. There was also a possible rain shower coming there way, but they still went," began Tiffany.

"When Olivia was in her car with her mom and dad, a deer ran in front of their car. Olivia's parents did not hit the deer, but they did hit a big oak tree and then their car flipped to its side!" Tiffany said scarily. All the girls shivered in fear and also wondered what will happen next.

"Come on Tiffany, continue the story!" Elizabeth shouted somewhat softly. The girls were waiting very patiently for Tiffany to continue. Abigail put her head under her covers, but still peaked out.

"Ok, ok, I'll finish," Tiffany said excitedly. " Then, Olivia's mom pushed Olivia out of the car through the opened window. Her parents couldn't fit though, but Olivia still tried to pull them out, but she wasn't strong enough. Soon, the police and ambulance came. The police took Olivia to their car, she was going to....... this exact orphanage!" Shouted Tiffany. All the girls gasped except Abigail. She was to scared to make a single sound.

Tiffany continued her scary story. "Olivia felt very scared as the car started to move, of course no on, and I mean NO ONE would ever want to go to an orphanage. I mean, you guys have had to watch Annie, am I right?" Tiffany flicked her orange curly hair to the back of her head. "Anyways, when she arrived, she met the owner; a horrible, disgusting and the rudest person ever! Olivia went upstairs to go to her new room. On her way up, she met some nice girls there. So, she thought that maybe her life wouldn't be that bad after all," Tiffany explained cheerfully.

As Tiffany got off track of the story, again, Abigail could hear wolves howling again. "What is up with those wolves"? She thought to herself. She looked out the window; everything was dark other than the streetlights. She thought she saw eyes looking strait up at her, but she thought that she was imagining it.

Finally, Tiffany got back on track and proceeded the story. "It then got dark out so Olivia and the girls went to bed. It was quiet out for a moment, but then she heard those darn wolves! Kind'a like the ones now. So anyways, she couldn't go to sleep at all that night. When she thought the night was over, it was only 12:00, exactly that time. Then, she heard something, while the others were asleep, she saw yellow eyes staring directly at her. After that, it snatched her up and took her away! No one's ever seen her sense that horrible night. Some say she died others say she lives with the wolves, or pumas, well something like that! The thing is, is that they never knew what took her, no evidence what-so-ever! The End!" Tiffany shouted as she waited for someone to go next.

"Um, why don't we sleep for the rest of the night. It's getting late, wow! It's almost midnight! That's when those 'ol monsters come out," teased Elizabeth. The others agreed softly as the said good night and went to sleep. Abigail on the other hand, couldn't go to sleep; it was almost midnight! What if the monsters came out and ate her alive or something! Abigail kept her blanket over her head as she tried to ignore her friend's silly story.

A couple minutes past, and Abigail only slept for what felt like a minute. She was so hyped up about Tiffany's story! Then, she heard something, almost like the door opening. Abigail tried to ignore it, but she couldn't, she had to look up. Then she saw it: big yellow eyes, messy fur, and a long-ish snout. It was that monster. Abigail was too frightened to make a sound or at least move; she just stood there, motionless, giving the beast a great chance of getting her.

The monster almost looked like a wolf, wait, that's because it was a wolf! Tiffany was right about the wolves! It walked closer and closer to Abigail not making a sound. Then, it finally made its move; it grabbed Abigail by the hood of her sweatshirt and jumped out the window into a tree. Abigail thought that she was going insane, I mean she was getting kidnapped by a wolf! It almost sounded like it was murmuring to itself as it balanced in the branches of the tree.

She tried to struggle free from her sweatshirt, but it was no use. The wolf seemed to have a very strong grip on her. Then it jumped out of the tree and onto the forest ground; that leap was as long as another wolf! The majestic being finally stopped and dropped Abigail on the ground. She wanted to move so bad, but it would probably lead to death, so she stayed still. The wolf howled and at a blink of an eye, several more wolves appeared. They made a circle around Abigail, she thought they did that so she wouldn't be able to escape. She knows she should be terrified right now, but she feels safe, almost as if she belongs there.

The kidnapping wolf stepped forward. It then sat down and it almost sound like it was clearing its throat. The other wolves made some other noises as if they were talking to each other.

"I'm sorry if if scared you young shifter," It said to Abigail forgivingly. Its voice sounded like a young mans voice, but a little lower. His voice was filled with confidence, Abigail could just feel it. Abigail shook her head suddenly, was she hearing words, from a wolf? She tried to back away, but she realized that he meant no harm.

"How, are you doing that? Th-the talking thing?" Abigail asked frighteningly. She stood up and looked at him in the eyes, they didn't look harmful in a way.

"Mythical beings can speak many languages, English is one of those many," He answered. "Let me introduce myself, I am Onix The Great, but you can call me Onix. My apologies," said Onix. Onix was a Grey Wolf, he was also in the stories that Abigail's family told her when she was younger. She stopped believing in that stuff years ago.

"Oh, Um, I'm Abi-"

"I know who you are Abigail. Your mother talked about you when she was pregnant. She was awfully excited. I knew your mother because of 1 reason, she was a shifter like you Abigail. She was also a Grey Wolf.

"Wait, I can turn into a wolf! COOL! But first, where are we?" Asked Abigail curiously. She look to her sides, there was nothing but trees and the other wolf shifters.

"Look behind you, young one," Onix said confidently. He looked at Abigail as turned her head and the rest of her body to where her back was facing.

Abigail looked behind herself quite quickly. "OH, MY, GOSH!" Shouted Abigail excitedly.
