CASSIDY LOOKED AT RANDALL, "DID YOU JUST ASK WHAT I THINK YOU ASKED?" he nodded, "yeah we'd have to check with lilith and hamish but if you wanna be more in the group than you are, than let's see what sticks."

cassidy didn't know what to say. on one hand, it sounded amazing to finally feel she belonged with her friends while on the other hand, she didn't know if she wanted that type of additional pressure.

one secret was already hard enough to hide.

randall noticed her inner conflict, "hey, if it isn't meant to be you'll stay the same super cool girl i know." cassidy smiled and nodded, "yeah okay, if the other two are okay with it i'll try."

randall quickly took her hand and pulled cassidy inside. he looked around for lilith and hamish before seeing them both in the living room.

randall dragged cassidy behind him before he stopped in front of lilith and hamish, making the two look at cassidy and randall suspiciously.

liliths eyes went to slits, "what did you two conspire?" cassidy gasped in fake shock, "woah that's a bold assumption. but also this time it was all randall's idea."

lilith and hamish turned their attention to randall making him a bit nervous, he played with cassidys hand behind his back, "well, cass and i were talking and i may have came up with the idea to have her go into the hide locker chamber and see if any other hide picks her...and before you say no, remember that she'd be way better protected and she already knows more about the knights than any of us so she can use her wisdom to help herself too."

the other two just stared at randall for a second.

"if she wants too!"

"no fucking way!"

randall's eyes grew big by the two very different answers and lilith glared at hamish, "what do you mean "if she wants too"? no! we aren't putting her in more danger than we've already put her in."

hamish looked at lilith, "maybe we should just see what she wants to do." lilith turned to cassidy fast, "okay fine. what do you want to do cassie?"

cassidy looked between everyone, randall giving her a thumbs up, lilith with an annoyed pout, and hamish looking calm.

"well if it's gonna cause problems-"

"cass, just tell us what you want. not what will make us happy."

cassidy nodded and took a deep breath, "i guess it could be cool... and i'd feel more apart of the team. so yeah, i'd want too."

randall smiled at cassidy and hamish smiled a bit too before standing up, "than let's go see."

cassidy stopped him, "wait. could we maybe do this tomorrow? i don't want to rush myself into anything this serious this fast." hamish nodded, "yeah, of course. just tell us when and either one of us or all of us will come with you."

cassidy smiled in thanks, her stomach dying of butterflies.

THE NEXT DAY, EARLY IN THE MORNING, CASSIDY GOT A SURPRISE TEXT FROM GABRIELLE. she was honestly really confused on what was so urgent that gabrielle of all people messaged her but cassidy made her way to the dorm she was meant to meet gabrielle at.

when she walked in, her eyes went wide at the silver glove gabrielle had in her hand. cassidy knew exactly what the glove was and was honestly scared that gabrielle had it.

"cassidy! hello! please take a seat." spoke gabrielle as she pointed towards the chair in front of her. cassidy was hesitant and gabrielle noticed it, "don't worry! it won't hurt as long as you tell me the truth."

cassidy sighed, already regretting even coming. she took her seat and gabrielle placed the glove on her shoulder, "you were helping us with the wolf hunt but randomly disappeared, why?"

"i went to lunch with my parents." lied cassidy and the glove began to burn, bad. she let out a small yell in pain and gabrielle sighed, "just tell me the truth and the pain will stop."

it kept going and getting worse the longer cassidy stayed quiet, blood began to fall from her eye. she couldn't take it, "i went to go check on a friend who was hurt!" the glove stopped burning and cassidy sighed in relief.

"good. next question, are you a werewolf?"

cassidy shook her head, "no. i'm not." the glove stayed still indicating she was telling the truth to gabrielle.

"you knew kyle pretty well, right?" questioned gabrielle and cassidy took a shaky breath in, "i wouldn't say-"

it began to burn again but this time way way worse, to were cassidy let out an actual scream in pain. "okay! yes i knew him well my freshman year!"

gabrielle smiled, "did anything ever... happen between you two?" cassidy shook her head, "no. he told people something did but he was lying."

gabrielle frowned when the glove stayed still, "okay last question, you're close with alyssa drake. do you remember them ever being close?"

cassidy wanted to lie but couldn't bear the pain, "they were for a little while they were together but after that they stopped spending time together as often."

gabrielle sighed, "okay, you're free to go i guess." gabrielle took the glove off cassidys shoulder and cassidy hurried out of the room.

she never thought she'd be so scared of an acolyte.

CASSIDY WALKED BACK INTO THE WOLVES HOUSE AFTER SHE CLEANED HERSELF UP. she was still shaken up by the experience and just wanted to be with her friends so she could forget.

when she walked through the front door, all heads turned and lilith looked at her, "why do you smell like blood? and... burning flesh?" cassidy shook her head, "it's nothing... you're probably just smelling things."

randall shook his head, "no i smell it too... what happened?" he quickly stood up and went over to cassidy. when he went to touch the shoulder gabrielle put the glove on, cassidy quickly moved away.

randall looked at her weird, "now i know you're hiding something." lilith rolled her eyes and stood up before walking over and pulling the shoulder part of cassidys shirt down to reveal a burn.

lilith looked at cassidy with an angry in her eyes, "who did this to you?" cassidy shook her head, "it was no-"

"cassidy don't even think about saying it was no one because obviously you didn't do this to yourself so i'd start talking if i were you before i make some other people talk for you." threatened lilith, who had a dangerous look in her eye cassidy knew not to test.

cassidy frowned, "it was just this glove... i've seen it at the order before and i've seen it used. gabrielle has it to question people but the thing is... it burns a part of your soul every time you lie. so, every time you lie the glove heats up hotter and hotter and it hurts like hell."

lilith turned to randall, "i'm about to murder a preppy bitch!" cassidy grabbed lilith shoulders, "no. i lied for a reason and you aren't going to make my lie worthless because you got mad. she knows i'm not a wolf and she thinks i went to help a friend when i disappeared but she didn't ask any of the super deep questions so i'm fine."

lilith shook her head, "and this is why she shouldn't become a wolf! the order is hunting her even before anything happens! it's a sign." randall looked at lilith with a sigh, "lilith we need to let cass decide what she wants to do and she already said she wants to wait to answer so stop trying to sway things."

lilith glared at him, "you just want her here because-"

"okay, lilith let's calm down." mediated hamish before lilith said something that would embarrass both cassidy and randall.

hamish turned to cassidy, "how about you just take the day off? you can relax in liliths room or your own and we can text you if something comes up, just heal a bit."

cassidy went to argue she was fine with randall cut in, "even if you're fine, please just do it to ease our minds."

cassidy nodded with a small sigh, "okay, bye then." she quickly headed back out the door, wishing they didn't push her away because all she needed was to not be alone.

gross i kinda made it sad at the end lol. and i know brandon was the first to be gloved in the actual show but since this is my fanfiction i'm changing it up so gabrielle gets her glove a bit earlier and wants to get answers from cassidy before anyone else.
