CASSIDY WALKED INTO THE WOLVES HOUSE. "you're sure you can get hamish and lilith on board?" questioned jack making randall nod, "oh, yeah. absolutely, no problem. and if they say no i'll make cass ask. lilith can rarely say no to her."
cassidy nodded slightly, knowing it was true as randall began to yell, "hamish! lilith!" hamish suddenly appeared, "great job, randall."
cassidy gasped a bit, "geezus you need to wear a bell." lilith appeared from the other side of the room, "i thought for sure you were going to help him run."
cassidy pointed at lilith, "you need a bell too!"
jack glared at randall, "you double-crossing bastard." cassidy looked at jack, "why am i not a double crosser?"
jack ignored her.
randall put his arms out, "everyone calm down. no ones killing anyone." lilith glared at randall, "we agreed. best out of three. you lost, he dies."
randall looked at lilith, "jack landed his first kill. big bad magic." hamish glared at jack as lilith spoke up again, "bullshit."
"jack, tell them. tell them how you heard the ringing and transformed into silverback and took down your professor who was weaponized by bad magic." egged randall making jack look around, "that... that happened."
cassidy looked at randall confused and mouthed, "when?" randall gave her a look and she knew they were just lying.
"that's straight-up champion shit. and pretty impressive, considering he hasn't even been trained." explained randall before lilith looked jack up and down, "doesn't change the fact that he's been doing bad magic."
jack looked at lilith, "that was a mistake." "and he's very sorry." finished randall before lilith shot something else at jack, "you're a mistake."
"we need to discuss this alone." bossed hamish making lilith look at him, "what are we gonna do about dick leak here? we can't just let him go."
cassidy raised her hand, "am i apart of the we? or are you guys gonna shun me out too." randall wrapped an arm around cassidys shoulders, "you're in the we."
cassidy smiled at the boy as hamish concluded, "liliths right." quickly he grabbed jacks arms, with the help of lilith, and began pulling him down towards the basement.
"randall!" exclaimed jack making randall sigh, "guys!" cassidy and randall quickly followed after the other three.
lilith pushed jack down the bottom two stairs, "don't do anything weird."
"like lock somebody in your basement while you debate whether or not to kill them?" questioned jack as cassidy looked around the room at all the books.
cassidy turned to the wolves, "on second thought, i'll stay down here and keep dickwad company! you three go plot your murder."
randall looked at her, "you sure?" cassidy smiled at the boy, "yeah i'm good down here you three have fun."
they all nodded before hamish looked at jack, "yeah, like that." hamish and lilith both left while randall leaned against the door with a sigh.
"lie to them about what happened. that was your plan?" questioned jack before randall shook his head, "it's not lying. it's... optimistic expectation."
"i never said clarke was "weaponized by bad magic." fought jack making randall shrug, "you never said he wasn't. look, it's going to be okay. i promise." randall shoved jack further into the room before continuing, "it's gonna take a couple hours."
he quickly slammed the door before directing his voice to cassidy, "and cass, if you what out just yell and one of us will let you back up!"
cassidy smiled, "got it!" she went back to looking at all the stuff in the basement while jack just looked at her.
IT HAD BEEN A FEW HOURS AND CASSIDY WASNT EVEN BORED. she had found some old books on the knights and found them quite interesting.
after a bit jack had stopped trying to make conversation and began reading some books he found lying around.
the knights suddenly walked in after a while and looked at the two before hamish began, "hey! this isn't a library."
"i was doing some research." explained jack. cassidy just looked up, "just to be clear, i started reading and he only began because i was ignoring his constant need of attention."
jack looked at cassidy, "i wouldn't have started reading if i didn't have a reason." lilith looked at jack, "who doesn't want to spend their last day alive reading some old book?"
"your reliquary is almost as good as the orders." stated jack and cassidy nodded in agreement as she continued to read her fourth book.
"reliquary?" questioned hamish. cassidy quickly responded without even looking up, "your collection of magic stuff."
"that's not ours." stated lilith as randall pointed at the objects, "this is magical contraband. confiscated by the knights over the centuries."
"don't you know that's how everyone gets their stuff over time? you guys aren't the only magic item collectors." informed cassidy as she flipped her page.
"think of this as an evidence locker." advised hamish before jacks face scrunched up, "well, then you might wanna do a better job of securing it. some of this stuff is pretty valuable."
"it's in the basement of a house with three werewolves. i think it's fine." excused lilith making jack look at her, "have you ever read any of this stuff?"
"of course not. we fight bad magic. we don't preform it." explained lilith making jack stand, "that's too bad. you might learn something. do you know why you eat victims hearts?"
randall put his hand to his head, "dude, how many times do i have to tell you? tradition." jack shook his head, "no. cassidy was right. you do it to stop the path of the magic. okay "if you don't eat the heart, the magic continues on its way, following the necessary path to preform thy practitioners bidding."
the wolves all looked at each other, "well, fuck me." cassidy glared at randall, "i told you that a few hours ago dumbass." randall shrugged, "i kinda thought your whole answer of reading made it false, oops."
"there's a lot in here about the hides and their champions. greybeard is the fearless one." explained jack.
"sounds about right." smirked randall making cassidy subliminally smile.
"tundra, most cunning." continued jack as hamish glared at him, "midnight is the reckless one-"
"we call him "cannon fodder."
"-i guess that makes you, timber, a loner." lilith looked at jack, "you got a problem with an independent wolf?"
"not at all. and then there's ember, who seems to be some sort of peacemaker. but here's the thing about silverback. he's the most powerful." explained jack, which seemed to set something off in hamish,
"you're saying you want to be in charge?"
jack shook his head, "no, thanks. but we do want the same thing. look, you guys want to take down bad magic. i want to take down a bad magician. i'm proposing an alliance."
lilith nodded towards jack, "who's your bad guy?" cassidy nodded, finally looking up, "yeah i wanna know too."
jack looked between the girls, "edward coventry. he's the leader of the order, and he's... responsible for my mothers death." that answer definitely shocked cassidy.
lilith shook her head, "we don't do revenge." jack snapped back, "yeah, you just kill people at random."
"i'll kill you."
"thank you for proving my point. guys, we can help each other. i mean think about it! this could work like how your relationship with cassidy works yet i'll try and dig if you also help me out!" explained jack before randall stood up.
"he should've had a choice. we didn't give him one."
hamish shook his head a bit from side to side before looking at jack, "we'll try an alliance." jack nodded a bit before lilith added, "for now."
randall did a little dance, "let's get to work, rookie."
