Chapter 2 - Needed Care

Error's POV

I sat at my desk while typing on the computer, taking occasional sips of coffee to keep me awake.

There was a short time of peace in the hospital, my colleagues and I were able to rest for a second.

Suddenly, I felt my chair move and weight against my leg. I looked down to see Molly rubbing her body against me. I knew she wanted attention.

I sighed before lowering my hand to her head and began to rub her fur.

She pushed my wheeled chair across the floor as she continued to lean against me. My friend, Linda, looked at me and laughed.

Linda: I wish I was in your position, Error.

Me: Which part? The dog part or the fact that I'm missing a leg part?

Linda: The dog part. I like having both of my legs.

I smiled. I was used to having a disability that now I just make fun of it.

After I had finally settled Molly. I rolled back to my desk to begin typing once more.

However my typing was interrupted when I heard a medical student run towards our desks. I looked up curiously with what he had to say.

Student: Marine is awake. He's totally freaking out.

Linda and I bursted out of our chairs and rushed towards Ink's room. With the fast pace that I used, I almost fell a couple of times.

We pushed open the door and I immediately saw Ink curled in a ball while having a panic attack. He was rocking back and forth to comfort himself. Linda went to assist him but I had the feeling that I should stop her.

Me: No. It would stress him out even more.

She stopped and stared at me. My mind thought quickly, trying to think of a solution. My eyes met Molly and then it hit me. I motioned to Ink and gave her a command.

Molly ran to the bed and jumped on it. This caused Ink looked up, seeing the dog. The presence from the canine seemed to calm him down.

He opened his arms before pulling Molly into a hug, burying himself into her fur and stroking her head.

The boxador licked his porcelain ink stained cheeks. I breathed out a sigh of relief before slowly approaching the awoken patient.

Ink's head jolted up to me. His eyes were dull white, they were emotionless and yet they held so much fear. Inky black tears had stained his attractive face.

I noticed his hands. There were cuts and injuries covering them. I kneeled down next to the bed but he hid himself in the fur of my dog.

There had to be another way to care for Ink without giving him anymore stress that he already had. I stood up and backed away.

Me: Stay Molly.

I stood at the corner of the room after asking the doctor to follow me.

Me: What do we do?

I whispered as quickly as I could.

Doctor: Well, clearly he's scared of everything that he sees. Sadly it might not be the best idea to keep him here.

He thought for a second and his eyes eventually lit up.

Doctor: You should be his personal medic. You can take care of him at your home. Besides, it's obvious that you're in love with him. You also have experience with the military.

Me: Indeed I am in love with Ink although, I served in the Air Force. That's different from the Marines.

Doctor: But you suffered from PTSD and you were able to recover from it. You can help him and work to earn his love at the same time.

I thought for a second, looking at the floor.

I would admit that Ink would be better living at my house but I wasn't sure about leaving him alone when I had to leave to do something.

Eventually a sigh was released from me as I rubbed my face.

'I'll do this...

Only for Ink
