Cleril
Basic but cute. I'm intentionally rating it higher because everybody hates on all the canon ships for no reason.
Everyone says that Peril is obsessive and Clay has no development, but obsession is one of the defining characteristics of a crush. Clay doesn't say anything because he's too awkward, I think, but he's definitely sincere. Plus, out of the relationship I definitely see Clay as the one who asks Peril out, not vice-versa.
I don't have too much to say about this one, so here's a mini shot of them ^^ (it's not so mini I never meant for this to happen- I like it though.)

Peril was tired. She didn't feel like studying, all she wanted was sleep. She sighed, and forced herself up. Urgh, I need dinner...
Dinner. Food. Clay. It's all her mind had allowed her to think about for the past week. It was seriously driving her bonkers.
Exiting her personal sleeping cave, she was reminded of how she was a 'danger to society'. She didn't really mind now. After she made friends with Turtle, she'd starting learning more about relationships, and since she considered her whole winglet her friends... she was quite a bit better off than before.
She finally reached the food cave. Of course, there was Clay, digging in to a cow. He noticed her, waved, and gestured for her to come sit with him. Her heart did a little flip, and she rushed over.
"Hey, Clay. How are you?" She asked. Be cool, be cool! Don't act too desperate!
"Oh, I'm great. This is the last cow, though. It's really sad." He pouted for a second, then ripped off a leg. "Do you want a piece? Y'know, since it's the last one...?"
She smiled too wide and too fast. Clearing her throat, she said, "Sure," and took the cow leg from him. Their talons brushed, and her heart did about ten cartwheels and a hand-stand.
Clay smiled shyly at her. "So, um... are you going to stop holding the cow leg in the air and start eating it?" He asked, looking into her eyes. She laughed, and then realized what he'd said.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that..." She brought the leg up to her mouth, taking a bite. "Mmmm. Cow." She was happy that she enjoyed the same things that Clay did.
Clay scratched his neck. "There's a festival this Sunday. Y'know, on the night out." She nodded. "I was wondering... do you maybe want to go with me?" This time her heart did a full-on gold-medal gymnastics routine.
"YES! I mean, um, sure, that seems fun." She blushed. "So like,... a date?" Clay nodded, a bit embarrassed but still looking her in the eye.
"Absolutely."

That Sunday night, Peril was happier than she'd been in a while. She and Clay had gone to the food section first. Clay's idea, but Peril was more than happy to go along with it. She hadn't eaten dinner yet.
They tried a new food called popcorn, and some RainWing had invented a "caramel apple", which was some sort of round fruit dipped in a sweet liquid that hardened into a shell. There were some with layers of chocolate on top of the caramel.
Then, they went to a play, and then there were a bunch of game booths set up. Clay wanted to win stuff for her, but Peril told him not to waste his money. "It'll just burn up anyway."
The last place of the night was this really cheesy restaurant, called "Lover's Lane." At first, she hadn't wanted to go in, but Clay convinced her. "Listen, it's going to be fun."
When they walked in, everything was pink. Heart garlands hung from the ceiling, and there were a bunch of pink chairs. An overly cheery RainWing said, "Welcome to Lover's Lane- where we guarantee you'll be like lovebirds before you leave." The RainWing was also all pink.
The two of them made their way over to a table. Peril almost sat down before she thought about the fact she might burn the chair. She looked at Clay, and he realized the problem immediately.
He walked up to the pink RainWing. "Excuse me, but do you have more, er... fireproof seating?" The pink RainWing looked puzzled, but then looking at Peril more closely, understanding crossed his face. "Right this way, sir." He led them out back, to a single pink stone table with two pink stone chairs.
He handed them both pink stone menus, and they ordered. The food was served soon, on pink stone plates with pink stone forks and knives. Clay was given a pink napkin, and their server, whose name was Beet, asked if Peril would like one as well. She declined. All the pink was making her eyes hurt.
They ate, and then Beet said, "Would you like to try our complimentary dessert? It's this thing called Ice Cream. Some IceWing invented it recently, as well as at least thirty different ways to eat it. We're offering it sundae style." Clay nodded, and the server whisked away their plates.
When the sundae was served, it was huge. Two metal straws (the server assured them they'd be Peril-resistant, as long as she gave it a minute or so to cool down between sips) were inserted into the sundae, which stood in a large pink stone glass. They started to drink it.
"Wow, this is really cold. But it's delicious." When the server came back, Clay asked what it was exactly, and Beet responded,
"It's some sort of frozen cows milk." Clay grinned.
"If it's that good, it's got to come from a cow," he said, and Peril laughed. Melted ice cream flew out of her nostrils, and they both laughed even harder.
They sat at the table, ordered a few drinks, and eventually they got to talking about romance at the academy.
"Anemone and Tamarin were blushing at each other during class today," Peril said.
"Starflight said Moon and Qibli were cuddling in the library again." Clay smiled.
"Oh, and I asked Turtle to help me read my scroll today, but he said he had a date with Kinkajou. They're so cute together, I didn't even get angry. Like, at all." Peril was rambling, when Clay grabbed her shoulder.
"You know all of these great couples we've been talking about? That's what I want to be. With you. Peril, will... will you be my girlfriend?" Clay looked at her so sincerely she had to take a second before she answered. A tear formed in her eye, and she hugged him over the table.
"Of course I will, Clay. To the moons and back."

Canon ships I'm going to start with a five out of ten, so taking that into consideration, here's my final score... I also really liked that sort—of mini shot, so...
8/10
