The castle was beautiful.

The sorting hat was a musical genius.

And Edelweiss thinks she just gave everyone in Hogwarts a literal heart attack when she was not only sorted into Slytherin, but her uniform changed designs as well.

Hermione ended up in Ravenclaw, Draco was unsurprisingly in Slytherin and Longbottom was in Hufflepuff. When the sorting hat had reached her Edelweiss could tell everyone had read the article from the Daily Prophet because they were all looking at her even when Professor McGonagall had called her new name.

It wasn't until after the hat had screamed out Slytherin that her uniform had changed and caused a rukus in the hall. Of course, Professor McGonagall sat her to the side and continued the sorting, the same reaction happened when Draco's uniform also changed to her Slytherin design and she was loving the looks that everyone was giving them. Her babies were gaining a good amount of attention.

Edelweiss unofficial debut as a designer was a success in her book, even if some of the teachers did look like they had swallowed lemons, the other looked almost excited by the commotion.

Both Edelweiss and Draco were pulled aside into a different room by an irate McGonagall, a pensive but curious Snape, a concerned Headmaster and an excited Flitwick. It was then that Edelweiss was questioned about the uniform changing, and when she made them aware of the school charter not specifying anything about changing the uniform, and then the fact that uniforms weren't even part of the charter as being mandatory. She felt appeased when Snape called her a Slytherin.

Edelweiss then saw a look pass over the Headmasters face and knew he was going to try to be petty and change the rules after she had already pointed it out to them, so she offered her designs to the school for a profit. When the adults around her gave her looks of reproach she reasoned that her designs were her talent and were going to be her trade, she wasn't going to give herself away for free cause that would be dumb business. They let it go when she offered discounts to those who wouldn't normally be able to offered the more expensive change in wardrobe.

After that it was all down to timing, Edelweiss had everyone contact Madam Malkins for the changes and even sent designs for the different years. The only one who seemed to have a problem with paying was the youngest Weasley who didn't think he should have to pay because of some made up friendship he thought he had with her. When she loudly reminded him of his FALSE accusations on the train he quieted down.
