It wasn't until after Edelweiss had tucked all her new clothing into her expanded trunk did she go to get her books, she wanted more then just the course books on her list.

She had a thought after filling an entire library shelves worth of books into her trunk, that she would like to have a companion to take with her to school. She new she could get either a cat, rat, owl, or toad, but she had always had a soft spot for snakes. They weren't very good at conversation when they were babies but they tended to grow smarter when surrounded by a smart environment. Besides, she already had a beautiful snowy owl named Hedwig that her father had given her for her birthday.

After browsing for Snakes as if she was looking for a new scarf, Edelweiss left the store with a Atherid Hispida, or better known as the Bush Viper.

The scales and eyes of this snake complimented if not completely matched Edelweiss' gem like eyes, but were she had a spider web of silver, the beautiful viper had a ring of gold.

Edelweiss decided to name the newborn baby snake, Nuka.
