Them

Files soar everywhere, the pair snickering as they enter the office. One of many offices to search.

"Search the chief's office," the woman says.

The man nods, scurrying off to perform his task. She oversees the chaos, observing her goons rifle through every drawer of every desk in sight. It's beautiful.

"Ma'am, we've found nothing so far," one of her goons admits, scratching at the back of his neck.

"It may take more than one department," she replies dismissively. He's quick to relax at her soft tone. "No need to fret. Not yet, anyway. Get back to work."

He almost bows, going to his squad and directing them. Hopefully they'll find something small. Anything.

Her husband comes rushing back over. "We have a live one."

Without questioning him, they go up to the chief's office and saunter in, eyeing the heaving man on the ground. She almost smiles but manages to bite it back. That's not what she needs right now. She needs to stay focused. Despite how fun this is, her life is on the line. Normally they wouldn't do front line shit like this, but their daughter left them with no other option.

She kneels in front of the man. "What's your name?"

He holds the gunshot wound on his stomach, coughing up blood. "William."

She nods and observes his wound. "Ouch. I told them to disarm the chief, not kill him. You know, you might be able to live if we get you blood fast enough."

"Why would you care?" he asks as he spits out a mixture of saliva and blood.

She forces a friendly smile. "Because the less death, the better. You see us as savages, we see us as business people. A different kind, sure, but business nonetheless."

William shakes his head with defiance in his blue eyes. "Your business is murdering people."

"Only those who don't listen," she whispers, motioning to him.

William scoffs. "Do whatever you want to me. I don't know what you want, and even if I did, I wouldn't give it to you."

"Y/n L/n," she says. "Where is she?"

"What? I have no idea who that is. Maybe you got the wrong place. Wouldn't surprise me, most crazy bitches like you-"

Her husband punches the man, William gagging on his own blood for a moment. When he whips back around, he practically hisses at them.

"I have no idea who she is! Happy?"

"Not really," she replies with a sigh. "I was hoping to spare you." No she wasn't. "But now, it has to be like this. Execute him, I'll be waiting outside."

He does a polite nod while William rages, his eyes darting around for anything that can help him. The look on his face when he realizes he's going to die is priceless. It makes her smirk as she walks out the door. A bang is heard shortly after.

Her husband comes back out to join her side, shaking his head in the process. "I hoped today would be a good one," he murmurs. She mimics his actions, making a 'tsk' noise with her tongue.

"She learned from the best. I doubt she would've gone to a department close to us. It might take us time to find it, but we have time." She's not sure if she's trying to reassure him or herself.

"This kind of project will take a while. We can't just go around attacking random precincts and hoping for the best. We need a plan, like going undercover."

She gazes up at the ceiling, clenching her hands into fists. "That bitch could have jeopardized our whole operation. I don't care if we go down, I'll kill her with my bare hands."

"And I'll be right next to you," he insists, "but we need to do this right, or else we won't be able to punish her or keep our business. We should at least be able to do one."

Her anger fades away like dust, her eyes falling back down on him. "You're right. Let's go find our daughter."

And with that, Y/n's parents leave the station to find more leads...

"So, do you think they make out with each other?" Jungkook whisper-asks.

The laughter coming from the living room makes your heart melt with happiness. Gosh, they're so cute together, aren't they? You peek in and see Tae and Jimin on the couch all cuddled up. They have a white fuzzy blanket around the two of them, a bowl of popcorn resting on their tangled legs.

"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they've fucked before," you reply with a shrug as you depart the room.

Jungkook smiles and nods in agreement. "They're closer than us and we're dating."

"To be fair, they grew up together. In Italy of all places."

He hums. "Even then, they seem close. I've seen childhood friends that aren't even a fraction of what Hans and Jae are. Childhood friends doesn't always mean what you'd think."

You peer up at him. "Experience?"

"Nah, Yuri though. She had this friend she grew up with, but only a year ago, said friend turned out to be a real bitch. Told all of Yuri's secrets, was gossiping behind her back, hanging out with her less... I had to hold her while she cried."

"Jesus," you mumble.

Jungkook sighs. "Sometimes I forget she's only seventeen. She's still a kid. Hell, I'm still a kid. I'm a kid raising a kid. Insane how that works huh?"

You agree and guide him to your bedroom. "How is she, by the way? I can't imagine it's easy, growing up with a debt and without parents."

Jungkook huffs and sits on your bed, taking off his shoes. "She's been better, but also worse. I can tell she's trying to hold back for my sake." He chuckles. "Poor girl is always hiding her real thoughts to make sure I'm okay. She's the kind of person I wish I was."

"And the kind of person you are," you reassure, sitting next to him and placing your hand over his, "you're a damn security guard protecting people. People like me."

He softly smiles, but you can tell it's a bit forced. "I'm protecting a small wait staff from angry customers. I don't think I'm rewriting the world order or anything."

You chuckle, shaking him off. "Kookie, don't worry so much about it. You don't need to save the world to be a good person. Being good to a small group is enough. You have human decency, something a lot of people don't have these days. Thank you for being you. Please stop beating yourself up over things you can't control. Yuri and you are two very different people, but you're still kind and caring. You're good, genuine people worth fighting for. And I know I'll fight for you if I have to."

Jungkook kisses your forehead, pulling you up onto his lap. You wrap your arms around his shoulders and give him a smile.

"Will you trust me?" you ask.

"Only if you give me a kiss."

You do as he says and press your lips on his. The kisses between you and him are either soft and sweet, or rough and passionate. This one is the former.

The delicacy he brings into the kiss almost leaves you winded. He has this way of kissing you that makes you feel like you're on top of the world. Well, technically you're sitting on Jungkook. If you wanted to be cheesy, you can say you're sitting on top of your world right now. Funny how quick the time has gone, right? You go from being scolded by Jimin and Tae to not form connections, now here you are, falling in love with a bunny boy.

When you part, he lets out a breath and places his hand on your cheek.

"Okay," he confirms in a hushed tone. "I'll believe you."

"I said trust, Koo."

He chuckles and pecks your lips. "That too."

The two of you lay down together, your hands going for each other right away. He holds you close, his forehead coming down to press on yours.

"Can I be honest?" he asks, and you hum. "I feel like something's going to happen to us, Ami."

He has a sheepish smile on his face. A smile that he probably hopes is comforting you despite what he's saying. It doesn't work. You're too paranoid to let it.

"I feel like something on the outside is going to come in and tear us apart. And the worst part is, I feel like it has something to do with my parents," he says.

Or mine is what you want to say, but you bite that part back.

"Koo, no matter what happens, we have two smoking hot guys on our side that are really good at kicking ass. Not to mention two angry women and a trained bodyguard. We'll be okay."

Jungkook agrees, pecking your lips one more time for good measure. "Thank you for reassuring my paranoid ass."

"It's a fat paranoid ass. Give yourself some credit, Mr. Jeon. You do your squats."

"I hope you're into pain since I'm about to slap your ass for that comment," he says.

You laugh, shoving him back a bit.

"Oh come on, get on all fours, baby."

You sigh. "You're so damn lucky you're hot and have abs, otherwise this relationship wouldn't have lasted."

"Not even the bunny smile?" he says in a whine, pouting like a baby.

Okay, he's adorable. Very adorable.

You boop his nose with yours. "The bunny smile is pretty cute too, but I love your personality more. The way you want to cherish and protect me, the laughter you have that fills a whole room, the perfectionist side of you... everything. I truly, deeply care about you, Mr. Jeon. I hope I show that enough. You deserve to have someone who's willing to show you how special you are."

He places his hands on your cheeks and shoots you that famous bunny smile.

"Amira?" he asks, and you nod. "I should be saying that to you."

For the rest of the day, you and Jungkook cuddle, whispering sweet nothing's to one another and trying not to think about the future.

But there's one problem with that: the future is coming soon. And it's coming to destroy you and everything you love.
