Tell Her I Love Her

Sneaking around the alleyways has been surprisingly fun. If "fun" meant that you could die at any moment and lose the ones you care about most: Jungkook, Yuri, Jimin, and Tae. They're the only four people you have left in your life, and now you're being hunted for it.

A heavy sigh passes your chapped lips. Jungkook is next to you, holding both you and Yuri's hands. It's cute that he's so protective, but right now, you don't have time to admire that. Escaping comes first.

The airport isn't too much farther. In fact, you can see it from your position. Tae's in the lead. Something's off about him. You think you know what. Jungkook said Tae's in love with you. Neither Jimin nor Tae denied those claims. Tae deflected, but Jimin seemed closer to agreeing than disagreeing.

If Tae likes you, does that change anything? Not for you, you'll still see Tae as a friend and you wouldn't want to make that awkward, but what about him?

Ugh, not the time.

You hit your head to snap yourself out of it. Today, escaping is the priority. You can worry about the details later.

"Do you think they're waiting for us?" Yuri asks.

"If I were a betting man, I'd say yes," Jimin replies, eyeing the airport that's right across the street.

"What do we do exactly?" you ask.

"There's a private jet waiting for us. We'll find out where when we get inside." Jimin pauses to turn to you. "Most likely in the front end of the closest runway. They'll want us to get there as quickly and painlessly as possible."

You nod, following them across the street. The crowd doesn't even glance in your direction, thank the lord. When you make it to the front doors, you're not surprised to see they're locked.

Tae's quick to grab his phone. "Same number, right?"

Jimin nods, most likely referring to the number they had to call while getting ready to make the trek here. With that confirmed, Taehyung makes the call.

After less than ten seconds of conversation, the door opens, and a woman stands there.

"Everyone evacuated and we have security monitoring the outside," she explains. "Should be a straight shot from here to the jet. More security should join you on the way. The first jet, there's a pilot waiting inside with even more guards. There haven't been any proble-"

'Bam!'

You yelp, Tae holding you in place as the woman falls over with blood pouring out of her head.

Yuri cries, Jungkook pulling her into his arms and making sure to be ready to take bullets. Tae's doing the same for you while Jimin returns fire.

"We have company! We're outnumbered!" Jimin yells.

Taehyung grunts and whips his phone back out. "I'll call the police!"

Together, the group of you run down the side of the enormous airport, slipping through to the even larger parking lot.

"We can go through the back entrance," Jimin says.

Tae stays in front of you as he describes the situation to the local authorities. You're sure they're at least somewhat aware of your situation. After all, the witness protection program is in connection with this place.

Soon enough, Tae's hanging up. Just in time too. Jimin opens the door, checking inside and keeping his pistol raised.

"Tae, watch our backs," Jimin commands. Tae's quick to do so.

Everyone goes in, hearing the static of walkie talkies and English being thrown around.

"Check the roof, you never know what they might have up their sleeves," a male voice says.

"What are they saying?" Jungkook asks in a whisper.

All five of you are ducked behind the nearest wall, Jimin checking to make sure he has enough ammo. He doesn't. Neither does Tae.

"They're starting their search," you tell him, Yuri and Jungkook nodding in understanding.

"We can't take them in a fight, not until the police get here," Jimin admits, "but the plane is that way. We can't sneak past them."

"Then how do we do this? Wait for backup?" Jungkook offers.

"Normally I'd yell yes to that, but this is a bit special," Jimin says as he kneels. The rest of you follow his lead. "Jungkook, do you know the airport well?"

Jungkook nods. "I like to think so. It's hard to forget the layout of where the big planes are."

Jimin takes out his spare to give to Jungkook, which results in Tae glaring at him.

"Sorry Tae, but he knows this airport, what if something happens to one of us?" he asks.

"I know the airport," you say. Everyone instantly turns to you. "Tae had me study it in case of emergency."

Jimin still hands his spare over to Jungkook, who's about as shocked as the rest of you.

"Jimin, what the hell man?" Tae asks.

"Keep your voice down, Tae," Jimin interrupts. "Watch the wall, make sure no one catches us. They're bound to find us eventually, I mean really, what idiots don't check the back exit? Here's the thing: the odds are, we're not all getting out of this. And by all of us, I mean me."

Right away you grab his arm. Raven. That's the first thought that comes to mind. The woman he's supposed to marry. Then your mind and heart stabs with pain at the thought of him gone.

"Jimin," Tae warns, "we're all getting out of here. Don't even think about it."

"There are two options," Jimin explains as if Tae hadn't spoken. "We either wait here like sitting ducks and get our asses handed to us, or we go do something about this."

Tae sniffles and steps away from the wall, taking Jimin's hand. "I'll do it. If you mean we need a distraction, then I'll do it."

"We can all get out of here. We should wait!" Jungkook whisper-yells.

Jimin sighs. "The police will take five minutes to get here and-"

"Search the back. Make sure we have no stowaways. They're not on the streets, they had to go somewhere," a man says.

"See?" Jimin mumbles, clicking off the safety to his pistol. "We have no time to argue about this."

He reaches into his pocket with his free hand, grunting until he pulls out a box. He drops it in your hand. You gasp at the sensation, peering at the small box in surprise.

"Give this to her," he whispers.

"Jimin-"

"Tell her Jimin Junior is an absolutely terrible name," he says with a laugh, tears filling his eyes.

"Jimin!" Tae insists, grabbing his friend by the arm.

"Tae, I love you, but there's over two dozen of them and four and a half of us. We need a distraction. They're about to come here, now come on! Go! I don't want to die in vane!"

Jimin pushes Tae off, the younger one crying right away.

"No, please, no..." Tae pleads, grabbing at Jimin again.

"No time to argue. Get the others to safety, and get them there now!"

Right before a hostile can step out and reveal your positions, Jimin tackles him to the ground and stabs him in the chest, the man gagging on his own blood. Unfortunately, despite Jimin not using his gun, the other men are alerted to your presence.

"Shoot them! Leave the L/n alive!" another man calls out.

"Run!" Jimin yells, taking the guard's pistol and firing away with both his and the guard's. Tae sobs while taking the three of you away, sprinting in the other direction.

They predict it, and ahead there are two guards waiting. Jimin shoots them both before they can shoot you. Gunfire bounces around the room, screams and cries sounding off with them. Tae sees the back door, about to push through when Jimin shrieks. Tae whips around, noticing his best friend losing his fight. Jimin ducks behind cover, shot in the thigh. Jimin sees Tae's hesitation and shakes his head, motioning for them to run.

"Taehyung, goodbye, my friend. Y/n, tell Raven I love her!" Jimin yells.

You sniffle and nod right as gunfire comes your way, Jimin attempting to cover you but it's nearly impossible. There's way too many of them. How the hell did they get here? Then, you see the piles of bodies of airport security and your heart pangs. They must have broken in and took out everyone they saw. Now Jimin is part of that pile.

Tae pushes everyone through the door and closes it, locking it before taking off down the hall.

"What if Jimin lives?! He needs to get through!" you protest, Tae ignoring your comment. "Tae-"

"He's gone, Y/n!" Tae interrupts in a shout, abruptly whipping around to you. "He's gone and there's nothing we can do about it!"

The tears streaming down his face makes you soften, but it's too late.

"I'm so-"

"Save it. Jimin's right. We can't let him die in vain. The exit is nearby, but we still have another room to go through."

You turn and see the door at the end of the hall, Tae leading the way to it in a hurry. More gunfire. More screams, one of them Jimin's. Your body shivers at the ear-shattering shriek.

Why? Why Jimin? The pain hits you full force, and that's when you see it in your mind's eye. Him cuddling you at night. Him holding you close and telling you he'd be your best friend for life. His pretty eyes sparkling around alcohol and food. Him. Park Jimin. Your best friend.

He's gone.

And you only knew him for a few months. But Tae... oh no, what is he thinking right now? Based on his trembling hands, you know he's not good.

Tae swings open the door, not showing any signs of being able to function right now. Jungkook notices the same thing you do. The younger man steps closer to Tae and places a hand on the shuddering man's shoulder.

"Let me," Jungkook whispers. It's like with those two words, Tae breaks. He covers his mouth and muffles his cries, tears falling out of his eyes.

"Jimin," Taehyung murmurs.

Jungkook sighs and gives Tae's shoulder a small squeeze of comfort, not that it does much.

Regardless, your group rushes out, sirens faintly heard. Now you're in the main lobby. You gulp as you step in, the enormous room almost scaring you. Yuri's surprisingly quiet, instead deciding to let the adults handle the situation.

You wipe your tears with the back of your hand, Tae closing and locking the door behind you despite his rough condition.

"Where do we go?" you ask, glancing at the giant windows that show you the outside. The runway. The private jet, it's right out there.

Tae grabs a chair, throwing it through the window. "This way," he replies in his cracking voice.

Your lips sink into a frown as Jungkook helps you out, the remaining four of you filled to the brim with despair, but also with adrenaline. Although you want to mourn Jimin, you know you have to make his sacrifice count.

"We're almost there," Tae mumbles, pointing to the plane. "Pray the pilot's alright, I don't know how to fly."

You slip the box Jimin gave you into your pocket and check your weapon, Jungkook mimicking you.

Taehyung heaves. "The plane's right he... oh fuck me."

The group of you slow to a stop, and you glance around at the bins of cargo littering the vicinity. They can be used as quick cover, which you're surely about to need. You peek at what Tae sees, and you stiffen.

They're here. They're all right here.

Over a dozen enemies are standing right in front of the plane, waiting for you...
