♥Who could that be♥
"Be busy loving you life and have no time for anger, regret or fear"
"Wait who ordered the muffins and hot chocolate?" I yelled across the cafe.
An angry woman who looked like she was in her late twenties stood up angrily and barged over to the counter where I was.
I put on a fake smile knowing that she was going to rant how dirty the table was or something like that.
"I ordered this AN HOUR ago!" She yelled snatching the hot chocolate out of my hand. She took a sip and rolled her eyes "and it's cold, some five start place this is" she said sarcastically.
I've had enough of this place it really stinks too and I'm starting to think it's attracting rats.
"Listen here lady, I'm sorry you didn't expect some Butler to come with this place to clean your feet whilst you sip your tea like the queen. But I work my butt off here day and night whilst your stuffing your chipmunk face with a muffin." I blabberd in her face.
She tried to stop me but I just kept on blabbering and complaing like the child I was "so take your drink and take this muffin that's probably expired, and leave" I demanded.
I heard someone clear their throat and I sighed in disappointment knowing who it already was. I turned around with a fake smile on my face. "Greg!" I yelled in fake excitement.
Greg was my boss, and I think he kinda hates me... Greg pointed to the kitchen and groaned.
I walked in the kitchen with Greg's footsteps behind me. I turned around to see his furious face.
"At least I put her in her place" I said killing the silence, I noticed that his knuckles went white from clenching his fist too hard, and gritted teeth to try and remain silent.
"Kelsey I've never met a person who can't do ANYTHING RIGHT!" He yelled at me and my face getting sprayed with spit.
"Ok Greg I'm sorry give me one more chance?" I wailed, he thought for a while then rolled his eyes and left.
I guess that's a yes?
I went back to the counter to see more people added to the queue some look impatient and some looked like they were about to collpase any minute if they didn't get their coffee done and dusted.
I smiled at a teenaged girl who had a bright smile on her face.
"Hi please can I have a hot chocolate with whip cream on top and chocolate sprinkles and two Christmas donuts?" She asked politely. I nodded and went over to the manchine that made the hot chocolate and got her donuts out of the heater. I put it in a paper white bag and got her hot chocolate.
"Name?" I asked her whilst looking for a marker.
"Nicole" she replied.
"Okay and how do you spell that?" I asked. Ok I know how to spell nicole but there could be diffrent ways that it could be spelt.and people get angry if you miss out a stupid letter or something like that.
"Seriously? Just spell it how you think it's spelt" she said.
I rolled my eyes and wrote "KNEE-COLE" on the cup in big fancy writing and gave it to her in annoyance. "But thats not how-" but before she could finish her sentence my watch started beeping meaning I can go home, I let out a sigh of relief when I took off my apron.
I looked at the time on the clock and it was 8:23pm...
Yes, I know it's a little sad a 19 year old girl is working whilst it's Christmas day. But honestly it doesn't bug me, it's gets a little lonely in Hollingworth. It's a pretty small town and a shitty one too.
I moved here when it was almost my 18th birthday, me and my parents would always argue and my little brother Mike would always run away and crash at his friends house.
I don't blame him, my parents always arguing about how poor we're getting until one day they all started blaming it all on me and Mike.
I ran away here to Hollingsworth, and surprisingly I got a small comfy home. Then I got a job here at Greg's Coffee Shop. Which was named after Greg's grandfather.
I honestly had to thank my bestest friend Anna, who is now successfully following her dream to be a fashion illustrator in New York.
Then there's me.....in England.
I got my coat and put my hood up since it was lightly snowing outside. It's been 2 and a half years since I haven't spent Christmas with my family. They probably think I'm dead or completely forgot about me.
I put in my earphones and the volume up as loud as possible. I started listening to Ariana Grande then BTS.
I finally got home and immediately took off my boots which were now aching my feet and belly flopped on the couch.
"Ugh" I groaned.
I looked around my house, it was quite empty. I think I'm the only neighbour who hasn't decorated, I got up and went to my storage room.
I searched and searched for anything chrismassy but nothing.
*SMASH*
I froze then slowly turned around. Glass scattered everywhere, and next to the shattered glass was a picture of me and Anna and a group of drunk girls.
I laughed at the photo, this was when me and Anna went clubbing for the first time and we met these strangers named: Daniela,Grace,Elise,Fiona and Shannon.
I think they're all in jail now....
I picked up the glass piece by piece trying to not cut my self with the Sharp glass.
*DING DONG*
The doorbell made me jump and made me cut my finger. "Shit" I muttered under my breath. My finger started slowly bleeding and the idiot that made me cut my self kept ringing the doorbell like crazy.
I ran over to the door almost slipping in my fluffy socks. I opened the door in annoyance "sorry I don't have time for Christmas carols" I said without looking at the person and closing the door.
Then their foot nudged the door way and I heard them whimper. Ouch. "But I thought jingle bells was your favourite?" A familiar voice said.
A cheesy smile appeared on my face and I swung the door widely open and attacked with them with a bear hug.
She was beautiful.
She was amazing.
She was warm.
Did that sound too weird?
"You're here! You're breathing!" I blabberd.
She laughed, "c'mon let's go inside I'm freezing my butt off"....
I hope you enjoyed my story it was probably cringey but whatever. English is also not my mother tounge French is 😂hope you enjoyed. Make someone happy this Christmas.
