Luke sighed to himself, rolling over in the shitty motel bed.

Why had he thought this was a good idea, again?

Oh, right. Because he was a fucking idiot, that's why.

Luke's phone buzzes, but he pays no mind to it. It was probably Tyler or Brock, anyways. They could wait until the morning, when Luke wasn't a grumpy, sleepy, hotheaded little shit.

He turns off the lamp, then tugs the thin, worn blanket over himself as he closes his eyes.

It's no use, though, because whoever was calling him refused to give up until they had whatever it was that they wanted. So with an aggravated groan, and a small, quiet string of curses, Luke pulls himself out of bed and goes to his phone charging on the dresser.

Luke frowned, feeling a bit of guilt bubble up inside him. He turned his back to his phone, deciding to leave the messages for the morning.

That was, though, until Luke saw the text that came next.
