"Who's phone is ringing?"
"The only person who would leave their phone in the car out of sheer stupidity, Jonathan." Ryan didn't even bother looking up from his phone, casually scrolling through Twitter.
"Are you insulting Bryce?! How dare you- oh. Oh. You mean me. Okay, alright, I see how it is. Man, you guys are mean to me."
Bryce laughed, shaking his head gently.
Ryan hushed him, gesturing towards Jonathan who had picked up his phone, and was staring down at the screen. It occurs to Ryan that, if anything, Jonathan looks confused.
"What, is it the wrong number or something? You look lost." Bryce had an eyebrow raised, leaning over the seat to look over Jon's shoulder.
"Yeah. I dunno who this is." Jon stuffed his phone into his pocket, then leaned back into his seat.
"What if it's important, though? Like, what if the president is calling to send you on a mission?" Ryan chuckled at Bryce's questions.
"Yeah, because the president would have a reason to call him, of all people."
Jon huffed, turning his back to Ryan. "Shuch up! You're bullying me! Just take Bryce home so we can go to school!"
"Oh, yeah. You... You're just missing school, Bryce? I forgot you don't live here." Ryan nodded to himself as he began to drive.
"Kinda? I, uh, I'm moving to Georgia. We're just stopping by here for a few weeks until everything's ready at the new house."
"Wait, you're moving to Georgia? Holy fuck, that's so far away compared to your old place!" Jonathan was twisted in his seat, staring back at Bryce with wide eyes.
"Yeah! I-I told you this already!"
"Oh. You did." Jon laughs, making the others laugh along with him.
.
"Dude, you know that number that called me this morning? Yeah, well, whoever it is kept callin' me! Like, what d'ya want with me, huh? I ain't got nothing but my teddy bear." Jonathan flopped onto the couch, staring at the ceiling.
"Yeah, I think they called me too. It's creepy." Ryan flipped through the channels, trying to settle on something to watch.
"Whoever this fucker is, he also left a voicemail. Should I listen to it?" Jon shoved his phone into Ryan's face, showing the notification to him.
You have 1 voicemail. [2:14 pm]
"Well. That's creepy, yeah. Totally normal."
Jon nodded his head. "It's probably some creepy forty year old man! But- heh, you wanna see what this guy wants?"
Ryan laughed. "What, we're gonna listen to it and probably laugh at how weird this is? What if it's for some drug deal and the guy got the wrong number?"
"Then they'll be after our asses, too! Well, mostly mine, I mean, but..." Jon paused for a second, before shaking his head. "I 'unno. I'm gonna press play."
There was a small moment of silence, before a voice came through. A voice, mind you, that neither of them ever expected to hear.
"Jon? You motherfuckers won't pick up. Not even Bryce! He always picks up. Well, I guess that shit doesn't matter right now. Can- can y'all do me a favor? There's a-"
The message cut off as Jon dropped his phone onto the floor, eyes wide and face pale. He turned to face Ryan, a panicked look on his face.
"I thought Luke was gone?"
