Chapter Six: Highly Doubt
(It's adorable how freaked out you guys got. Don't worry, I'm not planning on abandoning this book anytime soon. Just suffering a little writer's block, is all ❤)
Will's POV
The city hasn't been.. all bad. It proved to be a lot more tiring to stay in wolf form then I had thought. Every so often I couldn't help but have enough and shift back when I was certain none of Nico's friends would catch me. Just to stretch myself out a bit before returning to wolf form.
It has became quite clear the others were somewhat afriad of me. Even that Reyna girl, who I wouldn't be suprised if she was a werewolf herself and just smelled mortal because she's been around mortals for too long. But no, that would be impossible. Werewolves can tell each other apart from mortals. Either it's scent or just a gut feeling. I've never heard of a werewolf being disguised as a mortal and succeeding, but it could happen. Who knows.
One thing that confused me the most was cars. How the hell do they work? You just.. go inside and they take you places? They were clearly alive. They made noises when they were angry and their eyes could glow in the dark. Their butts opened up and you could put things in them and they smelled utterly horrible. And they were loud. So loud. And obviously dangerous, seeing how fast they run. How did humans manage to tame them? They sat obediently outside their houses, waiting for them. Humans even made little houses for them! I still can't wrap my mind around it, and don't think I want to.
One thing Nico really wants to do is go outside. And I don't quite like that. There's too many humans walking around and they normally scream or flash lights at me when I pass by. No respect in this place. And Nico gets pissed when I try and chase them away. I don't know what he wants from me anymore..
One human in a car that wore some for of hat that flashed red and blue came up to us, asking where my "leash" and "collar" was. I had no idea what he was talking about, and didn't quite like him. He gave off this.. not Alpha vibe.. but.. some kind of vibe. He definitely held some sort of power. Not higher than me, that's for sure. I was going to snap at him too, but Nico tugged at the fur of my neck, apologizing to him (apparently his name was "Officer", but I have no idea how Nico even knew that), and we just went back to Percy's place.
How'd you his name?
What do you mean? I didn't.
Yes you did. His name was Officer. It had to be if that's what you called him.
For whatever reason, Nico started laughing. I stood there, completely confused until Nico finally managed to catch his breath. He shook his head, still grinning.
Will, that was a police man. They're.. I don't know, kinda like the scouts that patrol the territory. Calling them "Officer" is a sign of respect.
I stared at him for a moment before giving a small huff, laying down in an exhausted manner. Nope. Still don't get it.
Nico sat down and ran his fingers down my shoulders and back. "You'll get used to it. Don't worry."
I groaned softly, rolling onto my side.
I highly doubt I ever will...
