Chapter 4: Heading Out
"It's probably best we be heading out." 2B told Pascal.
"But you only just got here! Stay a little longer, the machines love you!" Pascal replied.
"Maybe a bit too much..." A2 mumbled as she watched 9S running from a group of machines. 2B shook her head.
"Sorry but we have to leave." She stated. Pascal looked down, then back at 2B.
"Where will you go?" He asked. A2 and 2B looked at each other.
"There's no specific destination in mind. We're searching for a new purpose." 2B said.
"And we'll go wherever we can to find it." A2 added. Pascal nodded.
"Well, ok. But be safe! And I hope you find your purpose soon, everyone here will be cheering you on!" He said. 2B smiled at him.
"Thank you." She then turned in a full 360, trying to find 9S. "Where did he go?" She wondered. A2 began to laugh out loud. She pointed to a machine's hut and 2B shifted her gaze there. 9S leaped out of the open window and a horde of machines came running out the door, following him.
"2B help!" He yelled as he ran towards her, jumping into her arms. He held onto her as if his life depended on it. A2 had to hold onto a tree in order to prevent herself from falling over with laughter.
"The mighty 9S, who fought and beat Adam, Eve and even me, running from a small group of machines!" She cried. If androids could blush, 9S would have been a tomato by now. He let go of 2B and stood on his own, looking at the dirt. The machines rushed him and tackled him to the ground.
"Ack!" He yelped as he went down. "Well, now you know why I was running!" He yelled at A2. 2B smiled and rolled her eyes. She grabbed 9S' hand and pulled him up.
"Sorry everyone, but this Android here is mine." She said. A few of the machines made disappointed sounds but they cleared out none the less.
"T-Thank you." 9S said quietly. 2B nodded.
"Shall we get going, then?" She asked. A2 have a thumbs up and waved to Pascal. He waved back as he watched them leave.
