Despite the snow and the cold wind, a new day started at Konoha. The sun was rising, getting rid of the darkness to caress the Hokage's faces carved in the mountains. The silence of the night was broken by the small amount of animation in the still sleeping village.
However, at the Hyuuga compound, Hinata was already awake or rather, she hadn't slept, doing her heir obligations all the while staying at her father's side.
Now sitting on the wooden patio, legs over the edge, hands on her lap, she was enjoying her break, breathing in the fresh air, quietly looking at the small Japanese garden bathing in the daylight; bamboos and leaves were bending under the wind, the moss and rocks were wet because of the morning snow and the stream and koi were making the water lilies dance.
Next to her, two cups of tea and Hanabi focusing on peeling and cutting some apples.
What a relief, her baby sister was ok.
It had been two days since the three most important members of the Huyga clan came back home, heavily injured but alive.
Thank Kami-sama, Sakura had been very efficient before their return to Konoha. Hinata will be forever grateful to her for having heal Hanabi while, with Naruto, they were facing Toneri, trying to bring him back to his senses.
Unfortunately, he was stubborn and Naruto had to fight him. She had been worried for him. Especially when, true to himself, he'd jumped to help Toneri who had lost control.
She put a hand over her chest, trying to loosen the anxiety knot between her lungs.
He could've been expulsed far away because of the explosion. He could've run out of chakra. He could've been hurt, or worst since the kages wanted to destroy the moon rather than putting everyone's lives at risk.
They had nearly ran out of time.
Fortunately, Kurama had step up and they had avoided a disaster. Everything was back to normal, the mission was over and... it's at that moment the love of her life took her hand!
A very familiar wave of heat grew from the nape of her neck to climb to her cheeks, turning them lightly red. This december was one of the coldest and even thought she was outside, she didn't feel the frozen air bite her skin because of her burning love eating her alive, slowly, painfully, pleasantly.
Playing with her fingers, she shook her head.
It wasn't their hands intertwined together, creating a natural and right feeling, that was worrying her. Naruto unconsciously became really tactile with her after the war. No, what was coming back in her mind again and again was the next thing they did...
They had kissed!
Instantly, she felt conscious of her lips, of their shape, of their movements, of the tickilling moving across them, itching her.
Oh! Was it why everyone had stared at her at the village's gate? Was it possible, between her radiant complexion and sparkling eyes, to read on her face, on the curve of her mouth: 'Uzumaki Naruto kissed me!'?
No, of course, nothing was visible.
Still, she continued to feel his burning lips on hers as if he'd marked them forever and ever. And in a way, he did since it was her first kiss.
Her hands cupped her mouth as if she wanted to hide it. Yes, she managed to overcome her shyness for a lot of things, but this; Naruto touching her so intimately and with so much passion, was beyond everything she even wish for, overwhelming her with a huge and uncontrollable joy.
She recalled the way he'd asked her to hold him, his strong arms tightly wrapped around her legs and torso. The way he'd brought her close to him, caressing the line of her jaw, the nape of her neck, her cheeks with his fingers, not wanting to be pull apart from her. The way he'd looked at her, the stars in the sky above them winkling in his blue eyes. The way he'd said her name in a quiet yet meaningful tone.
"Hinata..."
That very same tone he'd used to confess his feelings, low and warm and soft and... fond... He loves me.
Every time she thought about it, reality struck her like thunder and pleasant shivers went through her whole body. She felt so light. She was sure that if the heavy blanket wasn't keeping her on the ground right now, she would be flying far away.
Far away from here.
Flying to Naruto.
She then remembered why she couldn't be with him right now.
She straightened, cumbed her dark long hair with her fingers to calm herself down.
Her agitation was going against the Hyuuga's morality.
But, despite all her efforts to think about something else, her body was shivering of contentment as her heart was loudly hitting her chest and several waves of heat were overrunning her from her face to the tip of her ears.
Naruto had kissed her!
He loved her, she loved him, they were in love with each other.
Never had she been this happy!
Never had she felt so in peace with herself, not doubting reality, walking with a silly look by his side, still with her rough petite hand in his large and strong yet so soft hand, coming back home together, safe and sound.
Unfortunately, back at Konoha, their little bubble of joy had rapidly exploded when Kou came, looking for her and Hanabi. Both girls had to be next to their father. His condition had dramatically changed since Sasuke had brought him back to the village.
Again, her stomach pleasantly squeezed when she recalled Naruto not happy to let her hand go. That same hand she had on her lips, that same lips he had kissed-
"Onee-sama is thinking about Naruto-san?"
Hanabi's teasing whisper was like an explosion to her ears, making her jump and getting her out of her daydream. Her hand then fell on her lap, leaving her lips which were making her live these memories, these sensations again and again.
Two pairs of Byakugan met and as always, it seemed Hanabi could clearly see all she was trying to hide. Hinata then looked away, tightening the heavy blanket around her shoulders.
But who was she trying to trick? Her little sister knew her so well.
She first wanted to give a negative answer to that rhetorical question, but thinking about it again, she didn't see why she had to hide the truth.
Her love wasn't unrequited anymore, she wasn't trouble for Naruto anymore!
However, she couldn't not forget that they promised nothing to each other. Since they let go of their hands, him for reporting to Kakashi and her for going back to Hiashi, they hadn't seen each other. As a matter of fact, the Hyuuga were confined within the compound, kages' orders, while the moon was going back into its original place.
Usually, Hinata wasn't keen to see Naruto - just knowing he's ok, he's happy was enough for her - but lately, she found herself wondering what he was doing. Is he thinking about me? Because she was thinking about him before being called out by a Hyuuga and feeling guilty to not focus on her task.
Like now, she was daydreaming instead of thinking about the clan business.
She looked up and nodded, using the small amount of self-confidence she had in herself to answer. "Yes..." she still was speaking softly. "But maybe it's not seemly-"
"Not seemly?" Hanabi repeated as she stopped peeling. "But, what were you thinking about onee-sama?"
Hinata grew pale then violently blushed, her eyes wide open.
"N-Not i-in that way, Hanabi! I-I meant I should be worried about otou-sama or about the clan or about you, but instead, I-I..."
"You have your head in the clouds with 'Naruto-kun'."
At her sister's teasing, she pouted before realising she was talking about their kiss as well. She hid her face lightly painted with embarrassment between her hands. Naruto-kun's too extra!
"You yearn for a glimpse of him, there's nothing wrong about that." Hanabi said more seriously. "By the way, I think it's ridiculous we have to stay here while Konoha... Wait, no. While the whole world has gone back to live a normal life since everything's over."
"They just try to protect the Byakugan while otou-sama is getting better."
"Bullshit..."
"Hanabi!"
"...the clan's fine, I'm fine, otou-sama's fine." she kept talking, ignoring Hinata. "You'll see. As soon as he wakes up, he'll be bossy again and he'll give orders from his bed. You shouldn't be here, onee-sama. If you want to see Naruto-san, you can. Why do you have to set back, surrounding by old codgers, even though you helped save the Earth too?"
Quietly, Hinata tried to find a answer which will show she was responsible, but a small voice saying Hanabi wasn't wrong was louder than her thoughts.
"Hanabi's right, Hanabi's right, Hanabi's right-"
She giggled, gently pushing her little sister who came closer to whisper these words to her ear.
"Y-You really mean what you said?"
"Of course I do! You've proved numerous time you're selfless. Today, it's your turn to be selfish." Hanabi nudged her. "Plus, Naruto-san came several times at the gate, asking to see you."
"R-Really?!"
So, he was thinking about her.
Her heart started to throb against her rib cage again, threatening to bust out of her chest. She had to stay calm, she should be rational, but... what Hanabi was offering was so tempting!
"I-It means, I have to sneak out?" she whispered, fidgeting her fingers.
"Let me take care of this, ok? But before you go see your boyfriend, you should take a shower. I don't want to be mean, but you stink."
"Hanabi!" Hinata exclaimed with a more open laught than earlier.
Now, she was excited to surprise Naruto.

It was much more later in the day when Hinata sneaked out of the compound to be able to go to the center of the village.
Once again, Hanabi was right.
She felt much better, more comfortable, in her clean civil clothes. Her hair was shining under the sun and her pale eyes weren't hidden behind the tired expression she had on earlier. Each step she made was echoing in her heart, the time bomb, beating in her chest as the distance between her and Naruto's flat was decreasing.
She was radiating with so much joy that, despite her precautions, she felt several gazes on her once she reached Konoha's main street.
She hadn't expected to be noticed. For the shy, discret and soft speaking Hyuuga she was, it was a strange feeling to be the center of the attention.
The last time it happened to her, she was young, vulnerable because of her Byuakugan...
Instinctively, she looked down, uncomfortable, hiding her pupiless eyes behind her fringe.
Hyuugas aren't supposed to go out, she recalled.
However, she noticed the gazes weren't subject to critic or to blame.
Several children pulled on their parents' arms to lead their attention towards what they were pointing at. In other words, at her. Because of their rudeness, the children were scolded, but as soon as their eyes looked at her again, Hinata saw they kept grinning at her with their red cheeks and their eyes sparkling with... admiration?
"Why do you have to set back, surrounding by old codgers, even though you helped save the Earth too?"
Gradually, as Hanabi's words were ringing in her head and gazes were more and more insistent, a knot of different feelings overwhelmed her and she didn't know what to do with it.
Embarrassed, she started to torture her fingers again as she kept walking.
Was she allowed to feel proud about herself? She did so little during their moon mission. She even cast a chill between Naruto and herself by accepting to join the enemy. Yes, her partnership with Toneri was fake, but it had impacted the rest of the team. Was she allowed to receive what seemed to be praises from Konoha's inhabitants?
"Pardon me, miss."
As her doubts were disappearing from her mind, Hinata looked up and found herself face to face with a man. Or rather, a shinobi from the Land of Demons according to his headband. Slightly bended and hands joined before him, he had an embarrassed smile on his lips.
"I'm really sorry to bother you, but I'm looking for the Hokage tower. The two shinobi at the village's entrance explained to me how to get there, but I believe I'm lost."
"Oh, you'll see, you're not too far away." She answered with a smile. "Can you see the red building?" She asked, pointing at the opposite direction. "Well, it's your destination. You just have to turn right in this street then keep going straight and you'll see the tower's entrance."
"Oh thank you, thank you very much." The man repeated, bowing in respect. "Have a good day."
Hinata kept smiling as he went back to the group of shinobi wearing the same headband as him who had stopped in front of a jeweller's stands. Some of them were bodyguards, but the others were carrying a sedan chair.
Her conversation partner came close to it. "It's that way, priestess."
Hearing the visitor's title, Hinata wanted to join and offer the group to escort them to Kakashi, but her little sister's words were ringing in her ears again.
"Above all, don't waste time. As soon as you're outside, you go find Naruto-san and don't let his fangirls impress you! Remember what you want."
She wanted to see Naruto.
*****
Hello everybody!
Welcome to my first fanfiction.
Nothing will be perfect but I'm kind of really happy to write a story about my favourite characters. I'm going to do my best to make them as true to themselves as possible.
I'm not very confident with English, but I'm trying to improve. Therefore except a lot of editing. Going back on my chapters is one of my flaws.
Also if you don't understand what I wrote feel free to ask me and I'll try to explain it to you and then I'll write the part of the story again.
Be careful, if you're going to read this because there's grammar mistakes and all kind of mistakes. Sorry in advance.
I hope you'll enjoy the story and thank you for reading :)
