Even with his wife's presence next to him, Naruto had not had a good night's sleep because of his chaotic thoughts invading his mind. He knew the only way to calm them was to speak to her. Together they would think about the problem and find a solution.

Oddly, though he hadn't done anything bad, he wasn't feeling proud to tell her. He was afraid to disappoint her, afraid she believed he was going back on his words.

His hand lost itself in her hair and it's his caresses that woke Hinata up. Blinking, she found his blue eyes, deeper than usual, facing her "Na... Naruto-kun?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."

She gently caressed his whiskered cheeks, then his skin's folds caused by his frown. She felt that something was bothering him when he opened his mouth several times before keping close for good.

"Is there something wrong?" Her soft voice encouraged him.

"Well... it's... uh", even with the knot in his throat, he swallowed, looked at her and sighed before rolling his back to speak. "I was asked to be on this mission because Kakashi-sensei... no, actually it's the council of the Daimyo... Yes it's them... the council chose me to become the Nanadaime Hokage."

Taken aback, Hinata rose on her elbows to see Naruto's face. "Oh! Naruto-kun... It's amazing! I'm so happy for you-" She stopped when she saw Naruto's teeth biting his lip. "What's wrong?"

"I think I'll ask them to report the nomination or maybe, I think I simply won't accept it..."

Once again surprised, Hinata blinked several times. Had she heard him correctly? "But... but why? Naruto-"

"I saw you Hinata." he was now looking at her.

"I...I still don't understand..."

"As soon as I arrived yesterday, I saw your tired face. Then while we were having dinner, you nearly fell asleep, twice. In the bathroom, I saw you touch your forehead. Since Boruto's birth, I've only taken short missions so it's been a while since I was gone for so long. You had to take care of the children alone and I know damn well they're not easy everyday. I had promised to you that we'd be parents together. So I'll ask to reporte the nomination. At least until Himawari goes to the academy. You won't have the kids all day anymore so it'll be easier. And if they refuse... Well I'm ready to take the risk-"

Stopping his monologue with her lips on his, it was Naruto's turn to not understand what was happening. "Naruto-kun, I don't allow you to give up on your dream."

"And I won't allow you to give up on yours either." Not expecting this answer, she remained quiet. "You did your best all your life to become a ninja, to follow your own path. I refuse to force you to drop everything and to stay at home."

"You're wrong, Naruto-kun." she murmured with a smile. "Ever since we have our children, I had a new dream; I want to take care of my family. You're a part of my family and I love you. I don't want you to live with regrets because you missed your chance to achieve your dream. You have to accept. For me, for Boruto and Himawari who are looking up to you, but also for yourself."

Their hearts echoed each other when she cupped his face to force him to look at her in the eye.

"You can't give up now."

Because he was overthinking, everything started to spin around Naruto. He had been scared to disappoint Hinata by asking her to stay at home, but it was in fact the opposite. He felt that if he let go, she would be even more disappointed in him because she wanted him to be happy.

Overwhelmed by his emotions, he hugged her tight in his arms, his head against her neck. "Hinata, thank you."

She smiled against his hair, hugging him too. "I'm so proud of you, Naruto-kun."

Then, right at this moment, their bedroom door opened and a blonde head appeared, getting their attention. "Boruto! What are you doing here?" Hinata asked.

"We wanted to see if you guys were awake, and if tou-chan wasn't messing with kaa-chan." Boruto said, looking at his dad.

"Me?!"

"And also because I'm a bit hungry!" Himawari's head appeared too.

"Hima! You're on my feet."

"Because you don't leave me any space."

"You could've asked. I would've moved a bit. And you were supposed to follow the plan."

After moving back from Naruto, Hinata moved the blanket away in front of the two pairs of blue eyes watching her without turning a hair before having Naruto's permission to come

No need to say it twice. The two children ran to their parents and climbed onto the bed, overexcited. While Boruto bounced on the mattress, Himawari hugged her father who, already tired by the agitation, caught his son's collar, forcing him to lie down next to his mother who squeezed him with her arms. The little blonde started to wiggle, shouting that he wasn't a baby anymore.

"You don't want to stay with me?" Hinata asked with a sad voice.

"Of course, I want to stay with you, kaa-chan." Boruto quickly said and wrapped his arms around her.

Next to him, Naruto and Himawari laughed quietly, knowing Hinata's strategy. Once they were all comfortable, they pulled the blanket over their bodies, making them closer to each other a bit more.

"Don't squeeze me!" Boruto shouted.

"Stop, onii-chan." Himawari demanded, laughing and squeezing him even more. "We all know you're happy to be here."

Blushing at his sister's words, Boruto became quieter and even smiled as his parents laughed.

Snuggled into each other, Naruto searched for Hinata's hand above the blanket and when they brushed against each other, she looked at him with love in her eyes.

Feeling at peace in his heart, Naruto realised that he would've never thought he would've lived this type of happy moment. He would've never thought he could've found love and let alone, had children. But now he had both, thanks to Hinata who had always believed in him.

I won't say "see you for an other translation" because this one took a lot out of me and I don't think I'll do that even again haha. At least not with this horrible English I have to improve it, and then, I'll think about translate one of my books. I might even come back on this one to correct all the bad mistakes I made.
