Namjoon's car turned off of Seesaw and back onto the main strip of road. Yoongi had turned on the radio which was playing some form of soft jazz on a station the salmon haired had never heard of before.

Baekhyun wouldn't have liked it. He would've wanted something loud, even at this time of night. Maybe he wanted it loud to block out his thoughts. His thoughts which were overrun by guilt and bad words.

Namjoon knew Baekhyun had been horribly guilty about everything he did, he just never took action by it. Maybe if he had, things would have been different. Of course they'd be different. What was Namjoon thinking? Baekhyun had lied and deceived and hurt and never once looked back on it and felt like he should do something about it. Never once let his guilty conscience speak and try and make a change because of what it had to say. Either that or it did speak and he just chose to bypass it. Ignoring it led to more guilt and more harm done. Addressing it hurt too much. Baekhyun was never one to admit when he was wrong. Therefore, he didn't. He let all that internal struggle swelter to the point that it did and by then it was an uncontrollable monster that had taken its toll on his conscience, exactly what he feared. He actually felt something for once. He felt sorry. Sorry for himself and what he had gotten himself into. Sorry for Namjoon for the position he had put the younger male in. Sorry for cheating and drinking. Sorry for putting the relationship he had once loved so much into an early grave. Sorry for falling in love with someone else.

And it all became too much to bear. He couldn't bear the amount of guilt he was feeling for, well, feeling. He wanted it all to go away and the only way that would happen is if he left all of this behind and started fresh. So he did. He left and ran to the arms of another and traveled away. Away where Namjoon had only hoped that Baekhyun had drowned out those useless guilty thoughts and was now a better version of his old self that no longer wished to go behind backs and deceive. He hoped Chanyeol had changed him. Oh, how he hoped.

Tonight was too full of repeated thoughts. Something must've struck that all too familiar cord with Namjoon and tortured him with his thoughts on what must've been going through Baekhyun's head that final week. That final week of a painful relationship that Namjoon had clung to like a balloon to hair. A week full of apologies that seemed empty at the time but now seemed so full of sorrow and guilt that it made Namjoon want to cry that he hadn't believed them when first spoken.

The salmon haired now understood that it wasn't him who changed Baekhyun into a somewhat better person as their relationship closed like he had previously thought. It wasn't his beggings and pleadings and sweet words of how the older could improve that made him say sorry and become less aggressive with his words. No, it had been Chanyeol. The younger, in comparison to Namjoon's ex by seven months, had made Baekhyun into a softer, kinder person and Namjoon was sure they both benefited off of it. Baekhyun became a better person and Chanyeol was happy with him and was probably better as a person, too, both things that Namjoon couldn't say he had done. It just hurt that a friend had been the one to derive happiness and a great person from the then ravenette's boyfriend.

"Namjoon?" Yoongi said, his eyes focused intently on the younger's face.

"Yeah?" Namjoon responded softly.

"I don't think it's the gang that's scaring Jungkook."

Namjoon furrowed his eyebrows, "Why not?"

"He only started acting weird after his apartment flooded and he moved back in with his parents. The guy threatened him before that and the flooding happened five days later. You know gangs. They take an opportunity rather than wait and there were plenty of opportunities, as bad as it, to gang up on him within those five days."

"True, but maybe they were watching and ensuring that they had a good route to catch him on and got him later."

"It's a gang, Namjoon. They aren't that tactical."

"You have a point." Namjoon sighed, "Who do you think it is, then?"

"Well," Yoongi said, "I'm not quite sure. I was hoping that we could piece it together right now."

"That sounds good. What are the things you've noticed about him that don't seem right?"

"Well, he had all this kids stuff and random objects in one of the drawers of his dresser when his apartment flooded. He was very protective of them and wouldn't tell me much."

"Things from when he was little?"

"Could've been, but they were all labeled with someone else's initials and before you suggest that he got them from Goodwill or yard sales, they all had the same initials and I doubt that you could buy that nice of a camera from a Goodwill or a yard sale and still have the same initials on them. Not to mention there was a 'J' in the last name place."

"You think that 'J' is for Jeon, don't you?"

"I think he lied to us about not having a sibling."

"Why would he lie to us about that?"

"Something must've happened. Something he doesn't like talking about and would rather avoid."

Namjoon hummed, letting a soft silence sweep through the car before saying, "On the note of weird things, have you noticed that he always stutters when his parents are brought up?"

"He does! I didn't think of that."

"Why did you look you so confused when he told us his address earlier?"

"Because he told me to drop him off at a parking lot that had to have been a mile or more away from his house after we'd cleared out his apartment. He told me that his street was just one or two buildings down."

"He didn't want you coming to his house."

"He didn't want me to see something."

"He never wants us to meet his family or go in his house either. You saw how he reacted when we offered to walk him to the door."

Yoongi remained silent. He must've been piecing things together in his head. Just like Namjoon was trying to do. All of this had a common link: Jungkook's family. There was definitely a sibling. There had to be one. The camera had been slightly old, but not old enough to have belonged to a grandparent or a parent. It could easily have been a Christmas or a birthday present for a young, aspiring photographer. Why did Jungkook have it if it was a siblings? Of course, they could've been old enough to buy their own new one, but isn't your first camera something special? And why did he flinch upon mention of his parents? It was he was scared of them. Like there was more there than the two boys could see. Stuff that went down within a house that they were never allowed to see.

Yoongi broke the silence with a scared, "Namjoon. Oh God."

"What is it?"

"We need to go back. We need to go back right now."

"Why?"

"Namjoon, it's his parents."
