As it turns out, we were grounded. Grounded I tell you. Dad blew up when he found out we were at a party till that late. Luckily mom calmed him down or we would have been flogged.
Nedum was going back soon. I was in his room helping him pack up. We were almost done. "Here's your charger," I said.
"Thanks. We're done."
"Are you leaving now?"
"Nope. Day after tomorrow." I nodded. Tomorrow was our Confession Session. Mom and dad allowed us to go but we would come straight home and stay at home. Worse was that our bodyguards would be with us. Knowing those two, they'd bundle us straight home.
I sighed. Kaima's friends were here. I knocked on her door before entering. I covered my ears. The children were arguing. Luckily I knew their names. Idara was holding a boy's hand and she was defending him against her two friends, T and Inioluwa. Kaima was trying to be the mediator.
I looked at the boy whom Idara was holding. He was a new face; I didn't know his name. He was staring at the pair arguing with Idara and his eyes held mockery. But when he looked at her, they showed affection. I suppressed a cough. Hia. I could tell he and Idara were a couple. Fourteen-year-olds. JSS2 kids going to JSS3. As expected of Sofony High's students.
"Hey, what's with the commotion?" I asked. All the attention was directed at me.
"Sister, just go. You won't understand." Kaima rubbed her temples.
"Understand what?"
"You see, Idara and Caleb like each other. But Tatiana and Inioluwa don't want them to be together."
"Tell those two to stop. I love Caleb." I suppressed another cough. Love? How was she sure what she felt was love? And how did love feel?
I looked at Caleb. "Do you love her?"
"I do."
"He doesn't love her. He wants her money."
"Exactly. He's not worthy of our Idara. He's poor. He can't afford her." Caleb's eyes flashed slightly.
They disliked him because of money? That was no way to judge people. "Stop. There's still no difference. You're human. He's human. Don't judge with monetary value."
"But we're stating facts here. Look at Idara, she's the Petroleum minister's daughter. But him? He's nothing. Worthless trash. He has nothing." Caleb clenched and unclenched his fists. I felt bad for him.
"Enough! Stop hurting Caleb's feelings." Idara really liked this guy.
"It's for your own good. He can come back when he's worthy of you." Inioluwa said.
"Probably never." T snickered. The Caleb's guy probably had enough. He stood.
"What's going on?" Two hands wrapped around my waist and Buchi's head rested on my shoulders.
"Are you through?" He and his friends were having a dance practice to be presented tomorrow during Confession Session.
"No. Taking a break." I heard a squeal and looked at T who was staring at us with stars in her eyes.
"He's so cute!" She was gushing about Buchi. I rolled my eyes. "Hey, Jordan." She waved while batting eyelids. Buchi left me and walked towards her. He took her hands and kissed them before walking back to me. "Oh My Gosh!! He kissed me." She was fanning herself with her hands. "I could die here."
"Girl stop. That's my brother. It's awkward." Kaima said rubbing her temples.
"I don't care. Your brother is the second most handsome guy in my life." Second?
"Who's the first?" Buchi and I asked.
"Gerald here of course." She pinched Inioluwa's cheek. So he was the one. I saw Kaima frown before looking away. Jealousy? She then smiled.
"Of course, our Ini is the most handsome." She said. "Right?"
"Nope, Caleb is the most handsome being on earth."
"Idara!!!" I chuckled.
"Idara, I want to leave." Caleb got up. Idara followed him. When he crossed me I held his shoulder.
"Don't let their words get to you." He stared at me with those dark eyes before letting out a hum. He walked away.
"Thank you, Vivian," Idara said before following him.
"What happened?" Buchi asked as we walked out of Kaima's room.
"Nothing. Let's go dance."

"My confession is for a female teacher. One day, in my JSS1, my uniform tore because I was playing football during break. Most of my classmates can remember that day. I panicked and ran to my form teacher who was in the classroom. I told her.
But the lady scolded me harshly and told me to use my trousers that way or purchase a new one. I couldn't do so because the store wasn't open at that time. The woman walked out of the room leaving me to my wahala.
I don't know how many curses I muttered. I hated her at that moment. I had to use my blazer to hide the tear But it couldn't be hidden for long. During that break, someone spotted it and I became the object of laughter.
I had to stay in my classroom all through. When it was time for P.E, she told me to stay back. I complained. So many curses were at the tip of my tongue. But then she shut the door and said words that shocked me to my core. 'Take off your trouser.'"
"Hei." People exclaimed... Remove your trousers. Who was that teacher?
"I shouted and begged her not to rape me. God, I cried. Bit she brought out a needle and a spool of thread before giving me a wrapper. I understood her intention and was very grateful. She sewed that trouser back to perfection.
Ever since that day I've been watching out for her. Once in JSS2 when I failed Mr Akpan's English test woefully. Not surprising though." I laughed. Mr Akpan was the strict English teacher of the junior class. His tests were always the hardest because he brought questions from the areas we would likely not pay attention to during his lessons. "But she called me back and explained to me why I failed. She Scolded me so much that I was ashamed of myself. I argued with her. We disagreed a lot. Either she was scolding me or I was complaining about why she was such a horrible person. But she wasn't cruel.
She cared. Slowly I began to like her. No love her. Impossible between us cause there's quite an age gap. Ms Amos, I love you. Just know that. So as you'll be getting married soon, know there's a student of yours who loves you a lot." He blew a kiss to where the teachers were seated.
There was an applause. I saw the said teacher cover her face. This was the fifteenth confession. It seemed like Buchi and I would go soon. But after his confession, there was going to be a presentation. I was excited. It was Eben's break dancing troupe.
The stage darkened and all the lights were turned off. The song they were to use started playing. There was a bit of light on the stage. Glowing caps, glowing clothes and glowing shoes. Slowly the stage lit up.
And another one bites the dust
Oh why can I not conquer love
There were four dancers. Eben wasn't there. I couldn't help but admire the way their body moved flexibly in sync with the song. While wondering where Eben was, the stage darkened but became bright again. Eben was taking the lead. Cheers erupted everywhere.
I hooted a bit before clapping as I watched them. Their movements demonstrated the music a bit. I couldn't help but admire his flexibility as Eben pushed himself close to the ground while balancing on his feet. It was like he was hanging by a rope. I screamed in disbelief. I wasn't the only one. Then his partners made the action of pulling a rope and Eben lifted himself with each pull. There was no rope. No one was holding him. The song ended immediately and the hall darkened again.
There was applause again but another song started playing.
Set awon
One henessy twenty men geng
The stage lit up and Eben's group had disappeared. They had been replaced by my brother's. I was surprised. Double performance? Nice.
"So, how did I do?" I heard a whisper by my ear. I hugged Eben.
"You were amazing! Very amazing. " He chuckled.
"Thanks."
"So how did you balance your body on your feet?" He smiled but didn't answer my question. I looked at the stage where Buchi was just throwing dance moves to impress the crowd. Rhema was with him. Unlike the gentle flow of the earlier performance, this was vigorous. Everyone was moving to the rhythm of the music. Eben sat on a seat beside me after chasing the person who was there. I frowned.
"I paid for it. Promised him something." I nodded. Better.
"So, are you going to camp this summer?" I asked. Almost every summer since I had known Eben, he always went to this training camp. When he came back, he seemed to become stronger and more tanned. His biceps also became more prominent. Every time. We rarely spent summers together. Talking of biceps...
I looked at Eben's sleeve. It wasn't loose so his biceps was stuck against the material. I poked them. Once, twice, thrice...it was fun. His muscles were hard. "Stop it." He held my fingers. "I'm not going for camp this year. Staying in Nigeria."
"Great." I could spend time with him before I left. I sighed. I still felt guilty that I didn't tell him in time. My attention returned when Buchi walked off the stage with his geng amidst the applause. The confessions were to be continued. I looked for the person I gave my phone to help me record the event and collected it. I walked back to my seat.
"What are they doing here?" Eben asked and my eyes went to where his were. Up the stage walked three familiar faces. Aloysius and Nengi, both lead by Abundance. They walked majestically not minding the gazes. My blood ran cold.
"Abundance!!" Someone screamed. The girl sitting by my left. I recognised her as an exchange student from our rival school, Sofony High School. The schools exchanged five students each year. Those five didn't have to worry about fees or anything. The school settled them. Any student could be exchanged except prefects and scholarship students.
"Sin City!" Another said. S.H.S was also known as Sin City High School. The school was as immoral as fuck. There was nothing that didn't go on there. It wasn't even for the ears to hear.
"Haha, very funny." Abundance said dryly. "Pearl International and their rudeness. That's how you welcome a guest?" Ebenezer stood and I saw Davis stand too. They looked like soldiers ready to defend their country. The Head Girl stood too and I also had to stand. Following that, all the prefects stood. "Are you going for war? Davis, do you want to beat me?" Abundance asked sarcastically. He threw his head back and laughed. His eyes then went to the teachers. "Old man Dayo, you don't look happy to see me here do you?" No form of respect at all. Old man Dayo? Seriously?
"Abundance, who allowed you in here?"
"The principal of course. I asked for an audience today." He smirked and looked at the audience. At me. His smirk disappeared and he sighed. "I can feel that I'm not welcome here, but I have to be here. If I do not achieve my purpose, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
I offended someone. A girl. I did something really bad at our first meeting. Really really bad. I insulted her, more like assault. I can even see her guarded eyes as she looks at me." I looked downward immediately. "I know she sees me as a bad person. I won't deny it. I'm a bad person to do such to her." There was silence and I looked up. "Vivian, I apologise for what I did. I'm sorry." He was apologising? I looked down again to avoid his eyes. "Your brother punched some sense into me. I was in the wrong. I never should have done that to you. I never should have treated you that way. Please forgive me."
I could hear the sincerity in his voice. I felt Eben's gaze on me. "When did this happen?" I swallowed. How did he know I was the Vivian being addressed? How was he sure?
"Vivian, do you forgive me?" I held the hem of my top tightly refusing to look up. "Look at me, Vivian." Couldn't he have asked for forgiveness somewhere else? Not before this mass of people. "Vivian, I request you come up the stage." Oh no.
People started whispering. Eben held my shoulder. "Go. We'll talk about this later." I nodded before looking up. I walked to the stage. All eyes were on me.
" Vivian, do you forgive me?"
"Abundance, you insulted my dignity," I said. He lowered his head. "You treated me like a harlot."
" I'm sorry. Very sorry."
"I accept your apology. You have my forgiveness." I didn't see a need to keep bearing a grudge. We weren't even going to interact in the future. So, I'd rather forgive him now.
"Thank you." He clasped his palms together and bowed. "Thank you." I stared at his hair. He didn't have braids anymore his hair was just packed. I saw it reached his back. I refused to believe that it was his natural hair. "Pearl International, thanks for granting me an audience. Old man, see ya later." Be walked off the stage with his crew. There was a loud applause. I saw Nedum at the entrance smiling at me. I waved and he returned it.
I took the mic. "Buchi, I need you here," I said. I saw him run to the stage. "My brother and I have something to tell the school. My parents have already informed the management. So, we decided to let you know ourselves." Buchi stood beside me. "Tell them yourself."
"No, you tell them." My mouth twitched. I clicked my tongue on to the hearing of both of us. I glared at him and we both sighed.
"We won't be here next term." We announced and the hall was quiet.
"What do you mean?" A voice shouted.
"It means that this is our last year as students of Pearl International," Buchi said.
"We'll be leaving. Changing schools." Pin drop silence then...
"Why?"
"Please don't leave."
"Tell me you're lying."
"Why are you telling us now?"
"We'll miss you."
"Seniors don't go." I saw the faces of my schoolmates and felt sad. I looked at Eben's unreadable expression. That was real trouble.
"It's not our decision," Buchi said. "We have to leave. We're sorry."
I breathed in. "I'll miss you guys. I'll miss my friends. Probably an enemy." I looked at someone going by the name Bisola who was grinning from ear to ear. I'm sure she was happy that I was leaving. She even waved at me. Chi m. "I'll miss my best friend too."
Eben looked away. When I walked back to my seat, he was nowhere to be found. He only returned when it was time to hand our posts to the SS1 students who had been chosen. The ceremony was completed and Davis gave a speech as the Head Boy to brief them on the responsibilities they now had. He also told them to accept their responsibility wholeheartedly and treat it seriously.
After the whole ceremony, Buchi and I went home. Our bodyguards were waiting. "What did your friends say?" I asked Buchi.
"They're coming over tomorrow. What about you?"
"Eben won't speak to me for now." I wanted him to digest the news first.

☆Buchi
"Good day." I was surprised at Angel's cold greeting.
"Um, may I come in?" She nodded. After I entered she went to a room and came out shortly.
"My brother will be here soon." She left me wondering. Did I do anything bad to her?
"Good day." I looked up to see her elder brother. He was a thin, not very tall man. I was taller. But he's handsome. They had good looks. All of them. Angel and her sister were both beauties.
"Good day to you too." I stood from where I sat. "I'm Jordan. Jordan Igbokwe." I put out my hand.
"Collins." I cleared my throat. "I heard you wanted to see me about something." He gestured for me to sit.
"Yes. You are the one who manages your mom's business, right."
"Yes."
"What else do you do for a living."
"I am a salesperson when I'm at school. I work for those who temporarily need my help." He was a student. I nodded.
"I came to talk to you about an investment." He narrowed his eyes.
"An investment?" He asked calmly. I nodded in approval and agreement. He didn't even show surprise.
"Yes. Last time, I tasted your goods. I commend it. Very delicious. Satisfies my tastebuds. I took some home and my family also enjoying them. So I thought. I'll provide you with capital and a place so you will expand the businesses. You will do everything necessary. I'll be your regular customer. And I'll help spread the word."
"Capital."
"Five million." Still no shock, or surprise. Good.
"I'm sorry but we cannot accept that. It is way too much."
"Three?"
"Even a hundred thousand is okay sir. Please do not waste your money on people like ours. You have already been a great support to our family."
"It won't hurt. I'll also make a gain. The more the business expands, the more I gain."
"If we make a loss?"
"I have faith in you. You will not allow that business to crumble." He shut his eyes.
"I will think of it. I'm sorry but I have to go. I have errands to run." He stood. "Angel."
"Yes, brother?"
"Take care of our guest. I have things to do." Angel nodded and he left. Angel tried to ignore me again and walk away but I pulled her back.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You're asking that?"
"Yeah. You've been acting coldly to me. Did I do something wrong?"
"You're leaving. You didn't tell me." That was why?
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you." I apologized sincerely. I saw her eyes water. "Why do you want to cry?" I asked. She shut her eyes and looked away. Her ears were slightly red. I decided to tease her. "Is Angel going to miss me? Hmm?" I pulled her close. She stepped back a bit.
"Yes. A bit." I smiled and sat down while pulling her to sit on my lap.
"Only a bit?"
"Senior!" She tried to stand but I pulled her back. She squirmed and I held her waist.
"Stop it." My words came out hoarse. I was having a reaction from all her moving.
"This is not proper." She said fidgeting.
"What isn't? You on my lap."
"Yes."
"You don't like it?"
"I...erm..." Her ears were very red. I pinched her cheek.
"What? You like it but can't say?" I continued to tease her. "Or is my Angel shy?" It was after the words came out that I realized what I said. My Angel? I shrugged. It wasn't bad. I liked the sound of it.
"Senior."
"Jordan. Call me Jordan."
"Jordan."
"Good girl. So tell me why do dislike our position."
"Erm..."
"You don't like me?" She turned and was now facing her. I made her turn to face me fully. She stared at my face and I stared at hers. I started from her eyebrows down to her lips.
"Jordan." She bit her lips and chewed on them. Oh shit. Her expression rippled my heart.
"Yes?" I traced her lips with my thumb.
"I don't like you." I froze. I knew my expression was dark from the look on her face. She looked scared but I was hurt. She didn't like me. What's the use of being here.
"I'm sorry. I should be leaving." I said trying to conceal the hurt in my voice. I was very hurt because I had feelings for her, but I couldn't tell her because of our guardian-ward relationship. That was then. But she didn't like me. I sighed and tried to get up while holding her but she pushed me back. Her hands rested on my chest.
"Just listen to what I have to say Jordan." She rested her head on my chest.
"Tell me." I was willing to listen to her.
"I don't like you. It's true. But..." She raised her head and looked into my eyes. "I feel more than that. You know. More than a like. Even a like-like." Suddenly she breathed out and I realized she just confessed. She avoided my eyes. I made her look at me before I crashed my lips on hers.
"Do I need to express my feelings in words?" I asked as we panted for breath.
"I understand." She smiled. I kissed her again.
"What of your mum and Christine?" I murmured between her lips.
"They're at the shop."
"Great. Where's your room." She stared hard at me before getting up and leading me to her room. Immediately we got there, I shut the door and locked it behind us. "Angel," I kissed her and my hands slid under her top. I heard her moan. I stopped. This was too early but I was leaving. My chances of spending time with her were small. "Tell me what you want. Be honest with me. Be honest with yourself."
She closed her eyes them opened them resolutely. "Take me." That was my signal. In a matter of seconds, we were stripped of our clothes. I was only wearing a boxer while she was lying on the bed with her bra and panties. She was lying face down. I turned her to face me while climbing the bed. I removed the remaining clothing.
She was an early bloomer. Her body was developed though she was still smaller than the girls my age. I climbed over her and caressed her nipples which were hardened. She gasped. I leaned in and she put her hands around my waist and removed my boxers. I didn't know if she was experienced. She couldn't be though I wasn't sure. In my set, I knew girls who had lost their virginity at her age.
Her hands rubbed my erection a bit. I groaned at the sensation but stopped her. I positioned myself at her entrance and pushed in. She hissed and I pulled out only to be shocked by the blood on my member. I looked at her with wide eyes. It was her first time. I had mixed feelings. Joy and regret. I breathed in deeply before I continued. I had never done it with a virgin.
"Jordan?" I smiled at her and connected our lips. I was making her mine. I would take responsibility.
~
I stared at the bloodstain on the sheets and hugged her tightly. "I'm taking this," I told her. "As a reminder."
"Okay." Our bodies were close to each other and nothing was separating us. But I knew she was tired. I would have taken her again. I had the best fuck of my life. I enjoyed every moment with her. But something became clear to me.
It seemed like my days of fucking any girl I had an interest in were over. I was going to be a loyal man.
