Chapter 2:

"Hello? Cole to Earth. You there?" Zam said as he waved his hands in front of me.

I snapped out from my thoughts or memories. "Huh?"

"Day dreaming again?" He asked.

I sighed. "Yeah..." I said.

"I miss being human" I said.

"Of course you do." Zam said.

Oh yeah. My name is Cole Retniw. Well, that's not really my name. My real name is Winter Snow H. Haddock. I changed my name to Cole Retniw so my siblings wouldn't find me. Why did I change my name? Because I'm a ghoul now. I was just human until I got an accident when I was 25.

Flashback

I was roaming around Tokyo at night. It's nice to he back here. I hope I can see Kishou again. My phone rang and I picked it up an answered.

"Hello?"

'Hey where are you? It's almost 10:30' my cousin Nash said though the phone.

"Wait what time is it?" I asked.

'It's 10:15.' He answered.

"Oh sorry. I lost track of time. I'll be going home now. And don't worry about me. Your not my father" I said

'Ye ye whatever. Be careful though.'

"Tch why?"

'Well... There are these ghouls and you know they usually haunt at ni-'

"Seriously? Ghouls? You know I don't believe on those stupid beliefs or creatures." I said. 'First Kishou Arima. Now Nash Stormrage. Who's next? Me? I doubt that' I said on my mind.

'I know but its real. You know my job right?' He asked.

"Yeah.. You work for the CCG and stuff and blah blah blah... So... How's Riezen and your child?" I asked teasingly. He just hang up after a few second. Awww your no fun. *chuckles*

I was passing by an alley near a constructed building. Guessing that would be a 'famous' restaurant soon. I heard some noises. Sounds like an animal eating meat from another kind of animal. I would usually ignore but I went to check it out. That is unlike me. I finally saw a man squatting and saw a pool of blood in front of him and a dead human. He was eating the human. Well... Curiosity kills the cat. I moved back slowly but I guess thean already sensed me.

"Well... What do we have here?" He said and turned his back to look at me.

His eyes were black and red. He had blood on his mouth and he has his crazy evil smile on that would day that your gonna die. Guess he was trying to scare me bit I wasn't really scared. I prepared my special pen behind my back.

"Your quite a pretty girl. Too bad a sweetheart like you might be gone soon." He said as something behind his back appeared. It looks like a tail again but four of it.

He strike to stab me but I blocked it from my sword pen.

"I'm no sweetheart." I said coldly. "May I ask? What are you and what is that thing at your back that looks like a tail?" I asked.

"What? never heard of a ghoul?" He asked.

"I've heard but I thought they were just stories and  I'm not from here." I said.

"Oh... Well this tail thing on my back is not really tail. Its called a kagune. There are four type of kagune. But I don't have time to lecture you about ghouls" he said and tries to stab me.

Luckily I dodge and I ran. I'm not a coward. I can't use my sword since its useless. The only thing that can kill a ghoul is a kagune. I looked up to see a crane carrying pipes. Sure its not made out of a kagune but I'm sure it would work. I grabbed my shuriken from my pocket. Yeah I bring a lot of weapons with me. Just as I was about to throw my shuriken to cut the ropes. He appeared in front of me and stabbed me.

"Awww your gonna die~" the ghoul said.

The pipes are above him. Perfect.

"Any last words before I devour you?" He asked.

I said nothing and threw the shuriken above to cut the ropes.

He smirked at me. "You missed." He said.

I smirked back which made him a bit confused. "I wasn't aiming for you" I said and the ropes were cut.

He looked up eyes widened and then he got wrecked by pipes. Never mess with a Haddock.

"... W-well... P-p-pl-played..." Those were his last words.

I felt so weak due to the blood I lost. Then everything turned black.

End of Flashback

I thought I died but, I was still alive. One of the construction workers found me and the ghoul. They brought us to the hospital. The ghoul was already dead and I still have a chance of living. The ghoul's organs are still good while mine is not since he stabbed me. So they transplanted the ghoul's organs to me. They ddn know that it was a ghoul organ. Oh well I can't blame them since ghouls looks like us. So that's how I became a ghoul. Well half ghoul.
