(6) The Philosopher's Stone

Harry smiled softly as he felt his heart beating in sync with the drumming of the rain. He was walking back from his run-in with the Mirror of Erised. He expected to see his parents again, but what he saw made his heart warm and determination to rise. He saw his parents first of course, after them he saw Ginny with a little bundle in her arms that had tufts of jet black hair and hazel eyes with the same burning passion as Ginny's. He saw the Weasleys(plus Fluer, Audrey, Angelina and Hermione) complete. Fred was with them and George had both ears. He saw Sirius and Remus waving at him beside his parents and he saw the decaying body of Voldemort.

He was mindlessly making his way back to the Gryffindor common room, thinking. It has been a month since he last saw Ginny. It was now January 31st, a day after his mother's birthday, he had asked Ginny to bring her flowers along with James. He also told her to force Remus and Sirius to come, no matter how hard they prostested, because even if seeing their tombstone is unbearable and heart-aching, it's still their day and a visit could do good.

Early that morning he received a letter from Ginny stating how she got them to come, and it was for Harry. She had narrated that they stayed there for a few hours just babbling. She shared that many tears had been shed and even if she claims she shed none, Harry knew her and that she probably shed the most.

It is currently the middle of May and he was thinking how he could ask Ron and Hermione to help him. Ron for his chess skills and Hermione for her logic. After all, he wouldn't have had done all the things he has done without them.

Harry told them the same thing that he did the last time around. He told them all about the Philosopher's Stone and how he suspected Snape. Being the amazing buddies they were, they agreed.

They ventured the halls under the invisibility cloak, which Ron couldn't stop fawning over and Hermione stating facts about. Harry had to shush them a few times when he had an irked feeling of them being watched or trailed.

Once they reached the forbidden corridor of the third floor, Harry jerked open the door, expecting a snarling three-headed dog barring it's teeth, they were instead met by a sleeping one snoring to the patterns of the magic harp that was playing on it's own. Harry was throughly confused, the last time they did this, he had to play the wooden flute Hagrid gave him, that's why he kept everything he would need in his pocket including his shrunken Nimbus.

They jumped in the trapdoor with Harry constantly reminding them to keep calm to which Ron responded with, "WE'RE FREE FALLING TO HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT AND YOUR ASKING US TO KEEP CALM?!". Harry chuckled at this while Hermione rolled her eyes.

Once they did land on the Devil's Snare, Harry was the first one down and quickly casted the sunlight spell, "Lumos Solemn!"

Ron was utterly relieved to be out of the clutches of the dark plant.

They ventured the grimy path with only the sounds of water droplets for company. Spotting another chamber, they entered and Harry immediately recognized it as the keys protection from the sound of fluttering wings and the big oak door across the room. He once again let Ron describe the key hole as Harry himself couldn't remember. Unshrinking his Nimbus 2000, he flew across the tall room in search for a big, old-fasioned silver key.

Not being the youngest seeker in centuries for nothing, Harry was easily able to spot a glimmering speck of silver that was reflected by the moonlight. It's wings were tattered, looking like it was already grabed and used. He flew down and rammed the key to the door quickly knowing all too well that the keys would fly after them as soon as he did.

After that, they came across the chess set, Ron already took his place as a knight, Hermione a rook and Harry a bishop. Having much practice with the set at the Manor, Ron was able to formulate different strategies in his head and think of steps ahead. Only because the board adjusted to the skill level of the player was Ron struggling, other than that, they wafted through the game with no major injuries although Ron had to sacrifice himself...again.

They went to the next room where they found an already knocked out full mountain troll. The stench was so horrid that Hermione almost choked, Harry quickly thought of a spell to distract himself from the spell, which proved to be somewhat effective.

The final room prior to the room with the mirror, was Snape's defence which is a logical test to identify which potion would be the one to use to pass through and to go back.

Of course, being the smartest witch of her age, she was able to solve it by re-reading the passage over and over again. Harry took the one that allows you to pass through while instructing Hermione to go back, help Ron and get Dumbledore.

When Harry passed the black flames, the first thing he spots is the Mirror of Erised opposite him, floating in mid air and infront of it is a man with purple robes and matching turban.

"Hello, Harry Potter." he greeted with a sly smirk, not his usual stuttering self. He eyed the bi-speckled boy infront of him, wondering how on earth did he have that powerful of a magical core and range of knowledge.

"Hello professor and Voldemort!" he greeted with a sarcastic smile and fake cheerfulness, waving.

The possessed man's eyes widen slightly before returning to it's normal size, "Well done, you are a very smart young man." he said in a tauntingly calm voice.

Harry snorted, "Well spotted!" he cheered, clapping his hands mockingly like a toddler.

Quirrell's eyes darkened as he started to unravel his covered turnban, to reveal what was left of Voldemort that faithful night in Godric's Hollow. It was a face of a man, but barely resembled one, it was pure skin and solely relied on the body he shares with Quirrell.

'Use the boy...' it whispered, Harry was too busy laughing at the remainants of Voldemort to notice that his D.A.D.A professor pulled out his wand and summoned magical vines to hold him down.

Good job dumbarse, Harry thought to himself sighing.

Harry tried to wriggle himself free or even to wandlessly disentangle the vines but to no avail. The harder he tried to escape the tighter the clutches it possesed. Harry watched as his professor levitate the mirror closer to the point where his nose would touch it if he so much as tilt his head forward.

"Now..." his professor began, raising his eyebrows and looking down at him with his nose held high, "...What do you see?" he asked, albeit a bit forcefully.

Harry looked at the mirror with a small smile, not only did he see the stone once again drop in his pocket but he saw what he did the last time he bumped into it. He saw his parents, Sirius, Remus with Tonks and Teddy, the Weasley family complete and George with both ears. He also saw himself with Ginny but now there were two raven-haired boys, one with Harry's eyes and the other with Ginny's, there was also a little girl perched on top of Harry shoulders with vibrant red hair and hazel eyes, she could easily be mistaken as a younger Ginny. Oh and he also saw the dead body of Voldemort.

He smirked, "I see myself with my family, a wife and my extended family." he said, voice laced with confidence. He raised his eyebrows, smirk widening, "I bet you see yourself free of Voldemort's possesion, don't you Quirrell?" he said mockingly.

Harry felt the sensation of invasion and raised his Occlumence barriers and with every ounce he had, he kept Quirrell out of his head. "Sir, I'd appreciate it if you don't invade my mind thank you very much." he said, blowing a strand of hair off his face.

The possessed professor seethed and then whimpered when the voice of Voldemort muttered a threat to him Harry could not hear.

Suddenly his professor's eyes were the shade of blood red that was identical to Voldemort's. Harry didn't know this would happen because it didn't the first time. Voldemort was taking full control of Quirrell's body.

"Now boy..show me the stone and I may think of sparing your petty life. Living with muggles..." he said in a calm, hoarse voice.

As He who must not be named continued to ramble, he discretely shot a wandless and non verbal spell at his wand, causing it to teleport any where else aside from this room. It was the first time he was trying to do this, yes he could do wandless magic but he had to move his hands in similar motions to that of a wand for it work. At the moment he was just meerly using his magic and brain waves. To his immese relief, it worked.

His attention returned to the purple robed professor who was now fishing his pockets for his wand. He was furious, that in itself was certain as his scar burned, it was an unfamiliar yet familiar sensation, but he was able to withstand it having dealt with the Crutatius curse more than once.

He threw his hands up in frustration and instead lunged for Harry without thinking about it. Harry held his hands infront of him and smacked them against Quirrell's face. He watched in horror as the skin of the professor burned and his scar injected him with so much pain he hasn't felt in years. He tried to hold himself and prevent himself from fainting.

Only mere minutes later, Dumbledore appeared with Mcgonagall and Snape flailing behind him. Snape, much like Mcgonagall, had a surprisingly worried face on, he was muttering profanity under his breath.

His transfiguration teacher insisted that he was to be taken to the hospital wing immediately despite the repetitive statement that he would be okay. Sirius and Remus were already there, waiting for him with anxious expressions.

After madame Pomfrey constantly fussed over him, making him take calming and strengthening draughts, he ushered his Godfather and honorary Uncle forward and told them to sit.

Harry rubbed his eyes under his glasses before sighing, "I think it's time I-I mean we- tell you what's going on." he said looking up the ceiling.

"Get Ginny, please.." he pleaded in a croaky voice.

Several moments after Remus scurried off to fetch the Weasley family, Ginny was the first to burst through the hospital double doors and strut over to Harry's bed and jumping on, burying herself with Harry under the covers. Ginny wrapped an arm around Harry while his arm rested under her head. They laid like that with the adults awkwardly staring at them, either in shock or unexpectedness which for Mrs Weasley was both cases.

"Gin..." Harry whispered, stroking her hair, "...we have to tell Sirius and Remus..I think including your mum." he continued pecking her forehead quickly.

"Alright with me, just rest okay?" she replied in an equal whisper, falling asleep with him and breathing turning to sinc.

"Love you..." Harry muttered, not caring at all there were several adults in the room including Dumbledore himself.

"Love you too" Ginny replied, who just like Harry, didn't give a crap. When he did fall asleep, she slipped off the bed and turned to face the adults.

"What? Can't I say I love you to my bestfriend?"
