Chapter 46 | Lights, Camera & Action!
I somehow managed to control myself whenever Mandy would sit with us or hang around with us but when she showed up at night two weeks later at my house, I wasn't so sure I could control myself anymore. The girl had to give up. Whatever she was doing with us had to stop.
Brianna smiled at her as Mandy sat in the living room, mom came in and greeted her too. Something was off about the Queen bitch and I wondered if this was some sick game of hers.
"You have five minutes to explain why you're here but I'm sure I'll kick you out anyways." I said when Brianna and mom walked into the kitchen for a brief moment.
"I don't have to explain anything to you." She simply said.
"You do, this is my house and I hate you. I need to know why you're here." I said.
Brianna came back and steered me away from Mandy, bringing me to the hallway. Her hands rested on my shoulders as she looked at me.
"Look, I know she's not the nicest person around." I scoffed at Brianna. "But," She emphasized, "She's going through a little problem at home and we're all she has. I'm sure we can put our differences aside and do the right thing."
"How do you know she's not lying?" I asked my sister.
"Because I heard it once. It freaked the hell out of me and you know what? She was scared that I heard her. I should've done something before but I was ignorant and I believed her lies." She closed her eyes and sucked in a breath, realizing it a second later. "Eliza and I shared a cabin with her and we caught her covering up some marks one time. She can kill me in my sleep for all I care but I won't let her go back there."
"You don't have to do this Brianna." Mandy said as she stepped out from the corner and neared us. "Mom and I can handle it. We avoid him when he's drunk." She said.
"You can stay here," I finally broke my silence. "With your mom and I'm sure we can help with you with a lawyer too."
"There's no need for that." Mandy said, defensively. "At least not when he's paying for my education and more than half the bills."
"What? No way!" I exclaimed. "I'm sure you guys can do something else. We can stay here and your mom can get a better job. You can't forgive him because he's paying for you."
"But I'm not forgiving him, Blake." Mandy briefly shut her eyes before opening them to look at me again. Somehow she didn't radiate those bad vibes like she usually did, nor was she glaring at me. "It's my life, I know what's right and if you really want to help, you need to help me keep Trisha's mouth shut."
I was a little taken back by that. Did the Queen bitch just ask for my help? "What did they do?" I found myself asking. Even Brianna gave me a look, probably wondering why I wasn't swearing at her ex-best friend right now.
"I can't have her telling the entire school that I get beaten up by some shit. Heck, she's going to pull the abused card on me and I can't have that." And that was how Mandy returned to her normal self, only her anger wasn't directed towards me.
"Hasn't anyone ever seen the marks?" I asked.
She gave me a once over and then she made a pathetic attempt to cover her laugh. Bitch.
"I know how to use make up. Now are you in or not?" She asked.
I scoffed at her and simply flicked my hair back. "Your fake friends will help you do that. Good luck." I said and walked away.
My phone beeped from my dresser as I walked into my room. A small smile made its way to my lips as I read Keith's name.
I hadn't changed from my pajamas since morning so I rushed to my closet and grabbed the first thing I saw, overalls. I wore a white crop top under the black overalls. I tied the shoelaces of my black converse and made my way to my dresser again. My face. What to do with it? I decided to keep my glasses on and put my hair in a messy bun.
I soon as I winced from the last Bobby pin that I stuck into my hair, Keith was in the driveway. I ran down the stairs and sat inside his car.
"Where's your jacket? It's freezing outside." He asked.
I looked at myself and sighed. "It's your fault that I forgot it. I was in a rush." I said as I across my ankles and played with my fingers.
I chuckled escaped his lips. "We're sitting right outside your house."
"I'm not walking all the way back there to find a jacket." I said.
"Fine, you can have mine." He mumbled childishly and started to drive.
"Good boy." I smiled St him and patted his head.
We arrived at a fight club and my eyes immediately roamed the crowded place to find Bellamy. It was a habit I don't know when I developed.
"Lets get a beer and wait by the ring. He should be here soon." Keith said as he guided me through the crowd.
"You mean he's not even here yet?" I asked. I slipped my hands out of the sleeves of Keith's jacket and adjusted it so it hung around my shoulders keeping me as warm as I need to be.
Keith shrugged as he handed me a beer. Then we walked towards the ring which was more of a cage if I didn't know any better. "How does this work again?" I asked skeptically.
"Two people go in that cage and fight until one of them is completely knocked out." My eyebrows shot up with Keith's description.
"Knocked out?" I repeated.
He smiled and nodded his head. "As in almost dead."
"You better tell me you don't do this Keith." I moved my hand to my hip and narrowed my eyes at him.
"Don't worry. It's not my thing. Your boyfriend does it, though." I sighed and slugged my shoulders as my fingers grazed the metallic cage. Was this worthwhile?
Keith and I passed our time watching girls fight, in and out of the ring. It was absolutely interesting yet scarry. I had goosebumps all over me when the fights ended.
After watching a few drunk men have a go at each other and then be kicked out since the crowd booed on them, it was finally time for the real fighters.
We were pushed to the middle of the crowd where I could barely see what was going on. I heard the announcer say Bellamy's name and I screamed with joy. Keith propped me on his back as our attempts to maneuver through the crowd failed.
Bellamy threw the first punch across a bearded guy's face. Some of the crowd awed at his action while others prompted the beardo to fight back and of course he did. He punched my boyfriend square in the jaw.
I shut my eyes and scrunched my nose as I gasp escaped my lips. When the crowd grew more excited and Keith turned his side to the side to talk to me, I finally opened my eyes.
"He's doing great! Look!" He said.
Bellamy was. He looked fierce as he kept hurling punches at the man. That's until the man clung onto his leg and tripped him. He threw a kick at my boyfriends stomach and that was what triggered a string of curse words to leave my mouth.
"Easy there, princess." Keith said as I leaned towards the ring and balled my fist in the air, screaming my head off at the man who thought he could just hit Bellamy.
"No way! Did you see that bastard? Who does he think he is?" I screamed the last question out loudly enough to have the beardo turn his head towards me. The crowd may have grew silent when they saw me enthusiastically cursing at beardo.
"Shh, you'll have us kicked out." Keith argued.
"Well I'll make sure I KICK HIS BALLS before I'm kicked out." I yelled.
"Babe? What are you doing?" Bellamy shouted from the ring.
"Shut up at kick his ass!" I commanded.
He threw multiple punches at the man and pushed him down before returning towards me again. "Will I get cake if I win?"
I sighed and resisted the urge to swear at him as Keith moved through the crowd and towards the cage. I got off his back when Bellamy turned around to kick the man again. I could tell the man was getting exhausted but he still resisted and fought.
"Jane, tell me. Do I get a reward for winning?" He asked loud enough for someone to hear and start howling. Our scenario had me blushing and I couldn't find a sassy reply.
Meanwhile Bellamy and beardo engaged in a battle again. Punches and kick flying here and there
"Answer already! I bet all my money on him!" Someone from the crowd said.
"Of course! Just get out of there." I said.
He grinned at me before returning to the fight. It ended earlier than expected and the referee quickly had beardo taken away.
Bellamy proudly walked out of the cage, his chest on full display as he was covered in smudges of blood and tiny cuts. Keith removed his jacket just in time as I ran into Bellamys arms and kissed him.
"How about it?" he asked. I snorted and slap his bare chest.
"Don't you ever do this again." I said.
"Well, I'm already in for the next fight and knowing that I'll win, I'll be fighting all night." He said.
I frowned and looked at Keith who held his hands up in surrender.
"You do have the choice to leave." I said.
"I wonder what happened to me badass girlfriend. Keith, have you seen her anywhere?" Bellamy asked.
"Fine then. You're not getting shit until you win all the fights." I said as I crossed my arms.
I smirked seeing his expression. "Come on, just a kiss to lift my spirits for the next fight."
"Oh, I think you've got a little too much lifted babe." I said. "Now go on, you don't want to be late." I gestured at the cage.
Bellamy pouted and begrudgingly walked away from me.
"He's not gonna get any, is he?" Keith asked as we walked back to the front.
"Nothing at all." I promised.

"Are you a part of team Mandy or not?" Luke asked me as we waited for the first period bell to ring.
"She doesn't need my help with that." I said. I still wasn't sure what I should do, after hearing everything I know I should be supportive of her and I am but I'm sure this wasn't something she couldn't handle.
I pushed up my glasses and sighed.
"Blake! Blake! I have major news!" Natasha came running towards us. I noticed Keith I'm the car behind her and gave him a wave which he returned. If I got a dollar for everything I expected to find Keith at school, I'd be a billionaire.
"What's got your panties in a twist?" Luke asked her as we chuckled.
"Nothing." I could tell she blushed but I shrugged it off, she still needed to get her priorities straight. "It doesn't concern you anyway." She said before steering me away from him.
"What's the matter?" I asked as I fixed my sweater that loosely hung on my shoulders.
"I lowkey believe that we're being watched and before you bring up something religious, I don't mean God. I mean the devil. Satan's kid. Trace." She blabbered.
I grabbed her shoulders and shook her. "Hold up, take a breath and calm down. Did you drink an entire bottle of coke this morning?" I asked.
"I'm being serious, Blake. If you don't believe me then I can prove it. Like right now." She crossed her arms and waited for my reply but when the bell rang both of us forgot all of our worries and focused on not losing our hearing.
"Are you telling me that's he's in school?" I asked.
"I mean he's probably waiting in the parking lot. Let's drive around town and see if it's true." She suggested.
"Fine but keep Keith and Bellamy on speed dial; if anything goes wrong." I said.
There was literally no know in the parking lot that looked like Trace. I felt like we were just wasting classes but then something genuinely felt odd.
"Is it just me or is something fishy going on with that car?" Natasha pointed to a normal car that was driving ahead of us.
"I don't know. Want me to take a turn without the indicator and see if they follow?" My voice sounded low as every word passed.
Natasha slowly nodded her head, gripping her phone tighter.
So I did as planned and we were almost relieved when that same silver car found it'd way back to us. It couldn't be a coincidence since I took several more turns after taking the first to get out of its view.
"That's it, I'm calling me brother." Natasha stated.
"No!" I screeched pathetically. "Call Bellamy, his house is closer from here."
I hit the accelerator and nearly crashed into Bellamy's driveway. I let myself in using the spare key he gave me. Boy was I glad to find it on the same Keychain that had my car's.
We locked the doors and I went straight to Bellamy's room while Natasha trailed behind me.
Bellamy was sleeping on his back, shirtless. I held a finger to my mouth and Natasha nodded knowingly. He looked completely drained after that fight on Saturday night and he didn't sleep yesterday either since he texted me every now and then. I shut his rooms door and we made our way to the kitchen.
"How about we cook something and watch TV until he's awake. I don't think I can go back outside." I said.
"Sure." Natasha said.
We ended up cooking a larger meal since we got the quantity of ingredients wrong. I hoped Julie wouldn't mind.
"Nat, we're completely stupid!" I said. I can't believe I didn't realize this before. "Did you get a proper look at the man?"
Natasha shrugged. "I was trying not to make things obvious and technically we didn't get that close but that's besides the point. What are you saying?"
"That it doesn't have to be Trace or Leon. It could be some guy Keith messed with. My brother has a habit of getting into shit and it's happened before." She explained.
"So what do you think we should do?" I asked as I bit my lip and adjusted my glasses.
"We figure something out." She said thoughtfully.
I rolled my eyes and flicked her head. "Genius."
°°°
Bellamy, Rosy and I were sitting at our usual table at the ice cream parlor. I was munching on an oreo flavored ice cream while Rosy was licking her ice cream cone. Bellamy took pictures of us even though we told him to stop. It was a usual day and we were happy.
That was until there was a knock on the glass window where we sat. I flinched when I glanced at a scary looking man who was staring at us with a dirty look on his face. Rosy screamed causing everyone's attention on us.
Bellamy frantically stood up, "Get in the car and stay there. I'll be back." He ordered and left before I could ask him anything.
I watched as he grabbed the man by his collar and dragged him away until he was out of sight. I looked at Rosy who had a scared expression on her face.
I took the little girls hands and we calmly but carefully walked back to the car.
"What was that?" She asked me as I sat in the car.
"I don't know." I replied.
"Is Bellamy gonna hurt him?" She asked, I sighed.
"No, they're just talking." I answered.
"Is he gonna hurt Bellamy?" She sounded scared this time and I held her hand in reassurance.
"No Rosy, he was probably asking for directions to somewhere." I told her pathetically.
"Well, mommy says we aren't allowed to talk to strangers. He could get in trouble for this." She said as she played with her fingers.
"True. How about I go and check it out? That way your mom won't be mad." I asked her.
She nodded her head and I quickly got out of the car, making sure to lock it as I did. I ran towards the direction I saw Bellamy going and I stopped at an alleyway where the two stood.
"We made it pretty clear, bring the money and take the drugs." The man said.
Bellamy looked over his shoulder and shook his head at me, earning me to leave but my legs didn't move.
"But then you tricked us into believing that you'd bring it if we gave you time but you failed to deliver. Both of you did." The man turned around and smirked at me before returning to Bellamy. "Now you have to deal with the consequences." He said bitterly.
He stepped aside and whistled as he walked away from us. Bellamy jogged towards me and pressed me close to him.
"Let her go first." He demanded.
"Not happening." The man said.
Suddenly we were circled by six men who looked like they were ready to fight.
"Stay behind me and run at the first chance you get." Bellamy told me as his moved me behind him.
My stared with wide eyes as the six men leapt towards us and began kicking and hitting. I screamed but someone grabbed hold if me and covered my mouth. I struggled but my attempts were in vain as nothing happened. I stared as Bellamy fought them. It was a thousand times worse then the cage fights.
There was a lot of blood spilling around and endless amounts of crunching and cracking sounds. Bellamy finally freed me from the guy who was holding me and I fell to the ground. As three more men jumped on Bellamy, I knew I had to find him some help.
It was dark and barely any pedestrians. I doubt anyone would even come for help. I saw a small wooden plank on the side and crawled towards it. I picked it up and randomly smacked it on one man's ass. He yelped and Bellamy threw a good kick it him, he even threw a smirk my way before hitting the rest.
We seemed to have won the battle because they started to run away but Bellamy wasn't having it. He grabbed one of the men and started to beat him up.
"Bel, stop! That's enough! They're leaving!" I finally managed to stop him.
"Are you hurt?" He asked as his chest heaved deeply.
I couldn't feel anything at the moment. The sight of Bellamy had me worried. I slowly shook my head.
"Then let's get out of here." He said as he placed a kiss on my lips then intertwined our fingers and walked me back to the car.
