Meeting the Boss

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

My fingers were cramping from typing so much. More and more orders were coming trough and I was becoming quite impatient as I waited for my hour long lunch break. I only had about fifteen minutes left, but they were beginning to feel more like fifty; all I wanted was my chicken panini.

"I am ready to die," Carly exclaimed from across the room.

I laughed and continued typing. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't feel an ounce of her pain. There was a small knock on the door and it opened slowly to reveal mine and Carly's boss, Dylan Gould.

As always, he was dressed to impress, whether he was wearing jeans or not. Today his look was a bit more casual. He wore a white button up shirt along with a black leather jacket, dark wash jeans, and black boots. His black hair was styled nicely on top of his head and his smile was just as bright as ever.

I smiled and greeted him. "Good afternoon, Dylan."

"Good afternoon, girls. Would you two care to join me for lunch?" he asked.

"We aren't scheduled to leave for lunch for another ten minutes, Mister Gould," Carly informed him.

He chuckled. "Who cares? Ten minutes is nothing. I'll be in the lounge. Oh and by the way, I'm throwing a little party at my house on Saturday. I'd love it if you two would come," he told us.

I smiled. "That would be great! I'll be there."

He winked at me before walking back out the door. I put my computer on lock and stood up. Carly followed my actions and soon enough we were out the door. Our heels clicked against the floor and the sound of it was giving me a small headache. I just couldn't wait to eat my food. Hopefully it would brighten my mood.

"I really hope Sam gets this job," Carly mumbled.

"Where was his interview today?"

"Accuretta Systems," she answered.

I raised my eyebrows. From what I knew, that company was very high maintenance. Working there had been my first choice, but after I was offered the job here, working there was no longer an option for me. I just hoped Sam could manage to actually acquire the job. It would give me some sense of relief, not to mention a sense of proudness at my "brother's" achievement.

"I truly hope he gets the job," I chimed as I pushed the break room door open.

"You and I both."

I walked over to one of the enormous fridges only to be caught by surprise. A frown took over my features as I found that my lunch bag wasn't inside the fridge. The strange thing was that I remembered putting it in here, but then again I was in quite a daze this morning due to my lack of sleep.

"My life sucks," I groaned as I shut the fridge.

Carly was grabbing her lunch from the other fridge. "What's wrong?"

"I left my lunch bag at home and I honestly don't feel like going to get it. By the time I get home and back, my break will be over," I answered her.

She chuckled. "You can share with me. I don't mind."

"Are you sure?"

She nodded. "I know how much you enjoy your chicken paninis. I just so happen to have an extra one," she informed me.

I smiled. "Thank you so much," I exclaimed.

Before she had the chance to respond, the break room door opened to reveal Stephanie. "You two have visitors. They're waiting in the show room," she smirked and walked back out the door.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Carly. She just shrugged and very hastily walked out of the room. I let out a huff and quickly followed behind her. It wasn't long until we came to the show room where Dylan kept his antique collection of vehicles. Carly squealed and started walking faster.

"You got the job? You really got it?" she inquired happily.

"Yes," the sound of Sam's voice sounded. My attention immediately turned to him.

"See? What did I tell you? It's the bunny," she exclaimed as she hugged him.

My eyes brightened at the sound of this. "Sammy, I'm so proud of you!"

Sam released Carly at the sound of my voice and came running over to me, enveloping me in a hug. I smiled and released him.

"I couldn't have done it without the support from my two favorite ladies," he cooed.

"You know, I could have swore Steph said we had visitors," Carly said, putting emphasis on the S.

"Oh yeah. Ironhide is here," Sam said.

He gestured behind me and I turned around to see Ironhide's holoform leaning against the wall. He actually should have been at base. Once he met my eyes, he walked over to me, my lunch bag in his hand.

"You left this in the kitchen," he told me.

I smiled and took it from him. "Thanks, man."

"It looks like space mountain in here," Sam chirped.

I turned back around to the mingling couple.

"Yeah, I know. Isn't it beautiful in here?" Carly interjected.

"Just wait until you meet our boss. He's the coolest guy ever," I smiled.

I heard Ironhide grunt, but the sound of footsteps caught my attention. Dylan was walking in to the show room, his iPad in his hand. He tapped the screen twice before putting it down by his side. A smile took over his features as he looked at Carly and I. Ironhide took a step closer to me as he approached us.

"Sam, Ron. I'm Dylan Gould," he greeted them.

"Hey," Sam forced out as he shook his hand. Ironhide was quiet, but decided to be polite by shaking his hand as well.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Sam smiled. I could tell it was a fake smile. He was definitely not prepared for his girlfriend's boss to look like this and I knew Ironhide wasn't either. It was almost as if I could feel the detestment radiating off the two of them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. Carly and Azalea have told me a lot about you," Dylan responded. I smiled. When you have a good guy, you might as well brag about him.

"Hm. That's interesting," Ironhide grumbled. I gave him a look.

"It's a beautiful building you have here. It's like star ship enterprise in here," Sam said.

Dylan laughed and walked over to stand by Mary, Dylan's personal assistant.

"Thank you. It leaks. Before these two came to help me run the collection, it was just a complete mess. But now the restorations are back on track. I'm going to Pebble Beach this year to get a trophy for that stand right there," he pointed to his vast amount of trophies. "You know why? Because these two girls right here, are my secret weapon."

Carly giggled and I let out a playful scoff. "Please, Mister Gould. You're exaggerating. All we've done is get you organized," I stated.

"Oh, you and the duchess have done much more than that, my little warrior goddess," he claimed, calling us by the nicknames he chose for the two of us.

I could feel Ironhide stiffen beside me and I could see the tension in Sam's body rise. "Nicknames, that's fun."

"Yeah. The duchess, the warrior goddess."

"They're adorable," Mary purred. I smiled, as did Carly.

"Yes. And it's easy to manage a country; try managing a priceless collection of art." He began walking over to one of the cars and the four of us and Mary followed him. "Take a look at this nineteen thirty-nine Delahaye one-six-five Cabriolet. It was designed by a French man. Look at the curves. Elegant isn't it? Beautiful, sensual, built to evoke the body of the ideal woman, or women, in this case," Dylan spoke as he looked directly at Carly and I. Ironhide yanked me backwards and Sam gave Dylan a skeptical look. On the inside, his comment made me slightly uncomfortable but I didn't dare let it surface.

"Are you done here?" Hide growled.

Dylan just laughed, clearly not effected by my mate's tone. "Possessive, I see. Come on."

He started walking again, this time out of the show room and down the hallway. I sat my lunch bag down on the table before grabbing Ironhide and pulling him down the corridor with the rest of them.

"My dad had a desk and a dream and he built it into an empire," Dylan's voice echoed.

We walked into one of the many garages he had here in the building. It was the most extravagant garage in the building and it was one I had been in way too many times.

"Wow," Sam laughed.

"We're the largest accounting firm in the US. I started the venture right after he passed. Best in the future, you have to bet on the winners," Dylan said to him. "You see, collecting cars helps me keep my sanity."

Sam moved over to the award case which also held dozens of pictures of Carly, Dylan, and myself. "Ron, come here," he whisper-yelled.

I pursed my lips as Ironhide removed himself from my side and walked over to where Sam was. He took a good two second look at the board before turning to me, his eyebrow raised. I just shrugged.

"You guys look great," Sam said, sarcasm seeping from his tone.

Carly stepped forward. "Oh. That was a great day Mister Gould," she exclaimed as she pointed to the picture of the three of us leaning against the red Ferrari; it had oddly enough reminded me of Dino.

I just stayed quiet. Ironhide walked back over to me, an annoyed expression on his face.

"Anything else you want to show us?" Sam asked.

"Nope. I believe that's all."

"Well, Carly and I should really get back to our break. We don't have long left," I stated as I began to walk away, only to be pulled back by Ironhide.

"Actually, why don't you two take the rest of the day off? I'm sure we'll be fine here," Dylan said with a smile.

"Thank you so much, Mister Gould," Carly chirped.

He just smiled at us before walking away. Carly grabbed my wrist and yanked me away from my brute of a mate. She pulled me quickly down the hallway and on towards our office.

"Do you think they're angry?" she asked.

I chuckled. "Well, I believe Sam is feeling more intimidated and emasculated than he feels angry. Ironhide on the other hand is probably feeling threatened and particularly irate," I answered.

She shoved the office door open and the two of us walked in to retrieve our belongings. I walked over and shut my computer down before grabbing my purse and my jacket.

"Boys and bots are ridiculous," Carly snickered.

"Tell me about it. I can't wait to hear what Ironhide has to say to me when we get home," I exclaimed as I opened up the office door again. The two of us were stopped by two very annoyed men. Sam glared at me.

"You like talking shit, huh?" he baited.

I scoffed and pushed passed the two of them. "You're so damn full of yourself, Samuel."

Carly giggled at my remark.

"Azalea," Hide called. I stopped walking to face him. He tossed my lunch bag at me and I caught it with ease.

"Thanks again," I smiled and continued walking.

Being off of work four hours early on the last day before my break made me incredibly happy. I knew it meant that four hours would be cut from my paycheck, but at the moment I didn't care. I was so ready for this next week off.

Eventually, I came to the exit door and pushed it open. I held it open for the three behind me before stepping outside into the warm summer air. Ironhide grabbed my hand immediately and began pulling me towards the stairs.

"Have a nice day, Mister Gould," I called to him.

He stood with Mary behind a post and looked up at me, a smile on his face. He waved to me and Ironhide wasted no time after that to pull me down the stairs.

"Why do you have to be so rough?" I whined as we approached his alternate mode which was parked directly behind Sam's knock off version of Bumblebee.

"Why do you have to be so obnoxious?" he sassed. I rolled my eyes.

"You see that? He's judging me, judging a man by his car. Are you going to wave at him while he's judging me?" I heard Sam say.

I snickered and turned back to Ironhide, removing myself from their conversation.

"Are you angry with me?" I inquired.

"Not quite. I'm just not fond of your boss," he grumbled.

"Please don't worry about him. I'm not going anywhere," I assured him. He just grunted and I frowned. "I'll see you back at home."

I turned around and started walking across the street to my car.

"Bye Lea!" Carly called.

I smiled and waved to her before opening up the driver's side door and getting in. Immediately, I started the car up and took off down the street, Ironhide on my tail. Without caring about getting a ticket, I sped down the street, going a mere forty-five miles per hour in a twenty-five mile zone. This was considered reckless driving, but I made sure I was safe about it.

After a ten minute drive, I finally returned home. I pulled into the parking garage and parked in my normal parking spot. Thankfully Ironhide had decided not to park so close to me this time. He probably would have received a good cussing if he had.

I grabbed my belongings and got out of the car, my feet aching as soon as I stepped foot onto the concrete below. I growled and removed my red pumps, holding them in my hand along with all of my other shit.

"Why aren't you wearing your shoes?" Ironhide asked from behind me. I stopped to let him catch up with me.

"Because my feet hurt," I claimed.

He chuckled. "Maybe you shouldn't wear such arthritic footwear."

"You're a jerk and I hate you," I retorted as I continued walking.

I heard him laughing behind me. Had I not been in such a hurry to get inside the comfort of my apartment, I would have taken the elevator. Instead, I felt that taking the stairs would have been faster though I may have been wrong. I just didn't care much for waiting on the elevator right now.

With a sigh of relief, I pushed open my apartment door and to my surprise, Ironhide was sitting on the couch, a smirk on his face as he looked at me.

"How the hell?"

"This complex has an elevator for a reason. I presumed you would take advantage of that considering how lazy you can be. I guess I was wrong," he chuckled.

I groaned and threw my bag down onto the floor while tossing my lunch bag very stupidly into the kitchen. This was the definition of lazy he had been talking about. .

"I'll be right back," I told him before running up the stairs.

I ran over to my dresser without another thought and took out a pair of jean shorts, a peach colored tank top, and a tan cardigan. I tossed my black dress into the hamper and threw my pumps into the closet before changing. After throwing my hair up into a messy bun, I ran out of my room and headed back down the stairs.

Ironhide was still in his same spot on the couch, so I walked over and sat down beside him, propping my feet up onto the coffee table.

"So, how was base today? Did Mearing give you all hell?" I asked.

"Not exactly. Optimus was the one most were worried about. I haven't seen him that angry in a millennia," he chuckled.

I flipped through the TV channels as I listened to him. "Why was he angry?"

"Apparently the humans have been keeping something hidden from us for years. An engine part from a long-lost Autobot ship was found in human possession at the Chernobyl facility. The ship's name was the Ark and it held a certain technology that would have aided our planet in survival. Optimus and Ratchet have taken off on the Xantium to retrieve it," he explained to me.

"So, they're in space as of right now?"

"Mhm. The moon to be precise."

I huffed. I just loved how they could travel into space and through space without any problem at all. It truly made me envious of them. In reality, I would love to go to space. There was just too many complications that came with being human to achieve it.

"They're lucky," I grumbled.

He laughed. "On the other hand, your father is back. He's done nothing but ask about you all day."

I made a face. "I guess I'll have to go see him tomorrow. As well as the other Autobots. Are Ratchet and Optimus going to be back before then?" I asked.

"They should be, but I can't promise you anything."

"Well. I may also go see Sam at work as well."

"Would you like me to wake you up at any certain time?" he chuckled.

"Ew. No. Let me sleep. I need it. I'll drive down myself. You can just go on ahead."

"There isn't a need for that when I'm perfectly able to transport you," he retorted.

"I'm sure you are, Hide."

He grunted. "I've had enough of your smart ass mouth." I laughed at his response. Annoying him was fun.

"Then do something about it," I challenged.

Before I knew it, his lips were on mine. I laughed into the kiss but didn't break it just yet. At the moment I was just admiring how playful he could be with me; I absolutely loved it.

"Does that work for you?" I asked him, leaning my forehead against his.

He smiled. "For now I guess it will have to do."

*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
