Epilogue

It had been exceptionally rainy this past week or so and I loved every bit of it. The fact that I was off for a two week vacation made me love it even more. It gave me all the time that I needed to just sit back and relax. Being thirty-seven years old kind of wears you out. It's even worse if you're the mother to a sixteen year old half human-half Cybertronian girl. Being a Cybertronian's mate was also exhausting as well. There was just only so much time that I actually had to myself nowadays and I was cherishing every bit of it before I didn't have it anymore.

At the moment, I was laying on the couch in my living room watching a bunch of old shows on TV. Ironhide had been at the base all day and wouldn't come home until he picked up Kaelyn from school. This only gave me about five more minutes alone, and I was actually quite sad. I loved the two of them to death, but sometimes they were too much of a handful. Kaelyn was just like her father and I never thought that could be such a bad thing, but when you're dealing with two Ironhide's every day, it was kind of exhausting.

I was more than ready to doze off until a loud, angry scream sounded from outside, followed by a car door slamming shut. With a groan, I sat up; my lovely afternoon was officially over. The front door burst open and I turned around to see that Ironhide's holoform had Kaelyn over his shoulder, much to her despair.

"Let me down!" she yelled as she kicked and punched his synthetic form.

He grunted and put her down, only slightly rougher than normal. She lost her balance and fell to the floor, but quickly got up and glared at her father. I just sighed.

"What the hell is going on here?" I grumbled.

Kaelyn looked away from Hide and looked at me before walking over. "Your brute of a mate doesn't know his slagging boundaries," she snapped as she sat down on the couch. I just made a face.

"Maybe if your insolent daughter knew how to act I wouldn't need to get physical with her," Ironhide retorted.

"Piece of scrap," I heard Kaelyn mumble. I delivered a quick smack to her head which only angered her. "What was that for?"

"Quit being an asshole. What even happened?" I asked the two of them.

"Well, I was taking care of some business when he just decided to come in and swoop me up. Wouldn't even let me walk myself to the damn door because he was afraid I'd try something," Kaelyn said. It didn't really explain much though; all it did was make me skeptical.

"What business?"

"Business that involves her hitting anyone who says the wrong thing to her," Ironhide answered quickly.

I groaned. She was exactly like Ironhide personality wise, but she was also just like my high school self had been only a lot more dangerous. She's already put at least two people in the hospital because her impulses and we've been working hard to control her. It obviously wasn't working all that well.

"Are you out of your mind? What have I told you about that?" I scolded her.

She shrugged and sighed. "You don't even understand what happened."

I sat back down beside her and propped my feet up onto the coffee table. Ironhide strolled over and sat down on the other side of her. "Enlighten us," I urged her.

"I cut myself today. We were working on sewing or something in Home Ec, and I was trying to cut the stupid fabric with the stupid scissors, but I wound up slicing my arm open. It's really deep, actually," she started. She held up her right arm and I saw that it was wrapped in a white bandage which was now stained with blue and red.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Sure. Doesn't bother me that much, but this isn't the point. I cut down to the bone or what normal humans consider bone. A lot of my classmates saw that I was leaking blue and red fluid everywhere and they were confused, obviously, but they rushed over to help me anyway. That's when everyone started making fun of me and some even freaked out," she answered.

"Why?" Hide asked.

"You're slow as hell, dad. But, it's not everyday when a half human-half robot girl cuts herself with a pair of scissors. Everyone could see that my bone wasn't bone. Instead it was a huge metal rod covered in skin. And no human is supposed to bleed energon, so yeah."

"But why would you care what they had to say about you, Kay?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "I don't know. It just made me feel kind of isolated. I'm so different from everyone else and apparently that isn't okay."

Ironhide pulled her to his side and she wrapped an arm around the front of his body. "You shouldn't give a slag what others have to say about you. If you'd like, tell them to come see me if they have something to say. I can assure you I'll give them plenty to say," he told her.

She giggled. "I mean, it's not that I have a problem being who I am or what I am. I love having you two as my parents, but everyone just makes it seem like it's something bad. Not that they know my dad is a giant alien robot, but you know what I mean."

"Why'd did you hit someone though?" I asked her.

"Well, I have been working on my self control, but humans are so stupid. Like, I can't deal with them, mom. The only humans I can even remotely tolerate are Uncle Sam, Aunt Carly, Adalyn, Aunt Mikaela, and Cappy," she said. She's been calling my dad Cappy since she could talk and the older she got, the stranger the name became.

"What about Leo?" Hide inquired.

"And Epps, and Monique? You're also forgetting Carly's son and Adalyn's twins," I said.

"Well, Leo is annoying sometimes. He always calls me mushroom. It was cute when I was like five, but now it's just weird. I hate mushrooms," she grumbled.

"He's been calling you that since the day you were born, Kay. I wouldn't expect a change any time soon," I chuckled.

"Whatever. But the rest are okay. I love Epps and Monique, but the others are all so young. I don't know how to communicate with them and I don't really think I want to communicate with them. They're like little balls of stupid," she told us.

I snickered. "You are your father's child. He was the same way with my sister," I told her.

He grunted and she looked thoroughly confused. It was only then that I realized I had never once spoken to her about Annabelle and neither had my dad. You would think that I would have since she was sixteen, but it never did happened. She was only ever told about Sarah and I was kind of beginning to feel bad because of it.

"You have a sister?" she asked curiously.

"Yes. Her name is Annabelle," I answered her.

"You're telling me that I've gone sixteen years without knowing my biological aunt?" she pouted. I nodded. "Well, when do I get to meet her?"

I frowned. "You don't."

"But, why?"

"She died when she was five."

A sad look crossed her face and I was almost certain that it had something to do with Annabelle's age factor. "How?"

Before I could answer, Ironhide saved me. "Don't worry about it, kid. You need to see Ratchet."

She groaned, immediately letting the Annabelle situation go. "I'm fine, dad. I promise. Please don't make me go. He's just gonna give me a bunch of nasty weird pills," she whined.

I chuckled. "It's really hard to believe that you were less whiny when you were a newborn."

"Hush, Azalea. I'll hurt you," she warned.

"Bring it, sweetheart," I challenged her as I stood up. She did the same and made a move towards me, but before she could, Ironhide threw her over his shoulder. She squealed and flailed around, almost kicking me in the face.

"That's enough physical activity for one day, I wager. Ratchet would be quite upset were you to disturb your injury even further," Ironhide claimed.

"Please put me down, daddy. I don't like being lifted," she exclaimed.

He chuckled and carried her over to the door while I followed closely behind them. "After Ratchet examines your arm, we can go eat if you're up for it," he told the brunette in his arms.

She stopped flailing almost immediately. This is where her Azalea characteristics came into view. She absolutely loved the thought of anything that had to do with food. "Food?"

"Yes. Do you have a specific place in mind?" he asked her. I knew the answer would be McDonald's before the words even left her mouth.

"McDonald's!" she yelled. Told you. .

"Do you even have money, Ironhide?" I asked him.

He turned around to look at me. "That's for me to know. Ten piece right?" he smirked. I just smiled and walked up to kiss him on the lips, much to Kaelyn's disgust.

"Stop being gross. My virgin eyes can't take it," she remarked. Ironhide chuckled and pulled away from me, acting as if he was going to drop the young girl from his arms. She screamed and held on tightly to his body.

"Keep whining and I might actually consider dropping you," Hide retorted.

"You're an asshole," she mumbled.

I chuckled and peck his lips again. "I'll see you both when you get home. Please try not to kill each other," I baited.

"I make no promises," Kaelyn exclaimed.

Ironhide just shook his head and turned to walk out the door. "I love you, Azalea," he called.

"I love you, mom!" Kaelyn followed shortly after.

"I love you guys so much," I responded.

Kaelyn just waved at me as her father carried her out the door. The back door to Ironhide's alt-form opened automatically and he basically threw her into the backseat. She squealed, something of which caused me to laugh. Ironhide's holoform turned around and smiled at me before hopping into the driver's seat. I could only imagine what would happen after they pulled out and quite frankly, I didn't really want to know. They were an extremely destructive couple of people, but either way I loved them to death. The two of them were what made my life worth living.

I watched as Ironhide pulled out of the driveway and took off down the road. It was then that a very important question popped into my head about this entire situation: Would he and Kaelyn remember to get me my chicken nuggets?

*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
