All I Need

Like I had been since I brought her home, I was sitting in her room with her, only this time I was feeding her. Ratchet came back from running whatever tests he had run on her and proceeded to give me this little thing of formula to feed her with. It was strange, but I didn't question it. He assured me that it was safe for her and I trusted his judgment. Using this would also save me the money that I would've used to buy her regular formula. It wasn't as if I didn't have enough to buy her a lifetime supply of formula, but still; every penny counts.
Her little infant whirs were almost like music to my ears. Just holding her in my arms made me the happiest girl in the world. I loved her and I could just tell by the way she looked at me that she loved me just as much. She also loved Ironhide very much too, and I just loved it. The two of them were the absolute loves of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the room and I looked up to see Ironhide walking in the dimly lit room. He walked over and knelt down in front of me and I looked back down to see Kaelyn's blue eyes shift so that they were now looking at her father. He reached his hand up and placed it on her cheek and even through her drinking, I could still hear a faint coo escape her mouth.
"She is such a perfect being," Hide stated.
I smiled and looked at Kaelyn who was now looking back at me. I withdrew the almost empty bottle from her mouth and reached up to sit it on the changing table. She let out a small squeak as she yawned and I giggled; she was just too cute for words! I held out my finger for her and she grasped it as tightly as she possibly could with her small hand; she had a surprisingly tight hold on my finger as well.
"She's a strong one," I chuckled.
"Seems we know where she gets that from," Hide responded smugly.
I scoffed. "Shut up."
"I believe you're in denial, but it's okay, Lea."
I snorted back a laugh. "I don't even have a clue what you're talking about." I retorted.
He just shrugged. "May I?" he asked, gesturing to the child in my arms.
"Of course," I answered. Kaelyn let go of my finger and I held her out to him. He took her and stood up, cradling her in his arms. Just the sight of the two of them together was enough to make me want to cry, but I refrained from doing so.
"She seems to be far more alert than the average newborn human," Ironhide claimed.
"Well, that's because she's not entirely human. Ya'll are advanced which makes her half advanced, I guess. I have no clue," I chuckled.
He shot me a smile. "Do your research."
"If there was anything on the internet about how Cybertronian sparklings work, than I probably would. It's you who needs to do the research though. It's pretty obvious you've never been a parent before," I teased.
He looked up from his daughter and met my eyes. "Neither have you, so I'd advise you to shut that mouth."
"You don't know my life," I baited.
He scoffed. "I know you better than your own father knows you. Try me, kid."
Hm, maybe I could have a little fun with this. "Favorite food?"
"Shrimp or chicken. You eat them both almost always," he answered.
"What about my favorite drink?" I inquired.
"Sweet tea," he sighed. I chuckled. Majority of the only reason I was doing this was so I could annoy him and it was working perfectly.
"My two favorite actors?" I giggled.
"Johnny Depp and Zac Efron if I remember correctly. Are you done testing me?" he remarked.
I laughed and nodded. "Yes, I am.
He walked over to Kaelyn's crib and laid her down before walking over to me. He knelt down again and placed his hands on my legs. I smiled at him and grabbed both of his hands before standing up. "I love you," he said to me.
I pulled him closer to me and wrapped my arms around his waist while he wrapped his tightly around my shoulders. "I love you, Ironhide. Even though I was ready to hit you today," I chuckled.
"I'm not a maid, Lea," he retorted. It's been hours since the incident, but he wouldn't let it go. I was almost positive that I killed some part of his ego. It was the only explanation for the way he acted towards it.
"No you're not. But it would've been pretty rude of you not to clean it up after I asked. And you said you would do anything for me, so don't be upset about it," I grumbled into his shirt.
He chuckled. "That's one of the only reasons I had for doing it. Adalyn is quite lucky I didn't force her to clean it herself."
I pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. "You're an awful brotherly figure to her," I teased.
He smirked. "Awful isn't exactly how I would describe it."
"Oh well. I'm sure you'll have plenty more times to prove yourself. As of right now I'm in desperate need of you," I giggled.
He had quite a smug look on his face and I leaned up to kiss him. His hands shifted to the sides of my face and I held on tightly to the fabric of his shirt. My hormones were getting the best of me again, but I couldn't let them this time. It would just cause me disappointment, so I pulled away from him.
"Something wrong?" Hide chuckled. He obviously knew. .
"Just hormones. No worries," I answered.
He leaned his forehead against mine and I smiled. "Would you like me to take care of them for you?"
"You know, if I wasn't feeling so awful in that particular area, I'd take it into consideration," I told him.
He laughed. "My apologies."
I didn't even get the chance to respond before he pressed his lips against mine again. This one didn't last quite as long as the last one did though. Kaelyn decided to make her presence known to us with the smallest of squeals and I quickly pulled away from him. I closed the space between myself and the crib and looked down at my almost four day old daughter who was kicking her little legs up in the air. The moment she saw me, she squealed again, a small smile coming onto her face. I picked her up and held her out in front of me, her legs still moving freely. I was surprised she wasn't asleep yet.
"So, this is how it's going to be, huh?" I laughed.
"I presume we'll have to engage in intimacy far from her," Hide stated.
I smiled and held her closer to me. "I presume so as well."
There was nothing but happiness that flowed through my body as I held her close to me. Her small hands gripped the fabric of my shirt and she rested her tiny head down onto my shoulder. I could hear as her breathing slowed and it wasn't long until her body had completely relaxed; she had fallen asleep. Even so, this was the most unreal thing I could've ever imagined for myself. I never thought I'd have a family, especially with someone who was a different species than me and not to mention from a different planet. I couldn't bring myself to be bothered by those details though.
"Care to have another one in the near future?" Hide asked me.
"I could always think about it, but at the moment I'm perfectly fine with just the two of you," I answered him with a smile, which he returned. It was true though. All I've been asking for for the past five years was happiness, and I finally got it. Ironhide and Kaelyn were everything I wanted and more. They had to be the best things to ever happen to me, and right now, the two of them were all that I needed and they were possibly all that I would ever need, without the exceptions of course.
