Why do we get blamed?

Blamed for stupid reasons
Or for nothing, accidents, for real

We always get blamed for things
We never do
We don't have a choice in whether
We're blamed or not

Instead we're judged as bad,
Labelled with a sticker on our foreheads
For all to see
Our tongues are tied and mind kept from Releasing the truth
Wasted tears that don't deserve to be shed
Punishments handed out instantly without
Solid reason

We struggle to tell our story
Held hostage by our doubts that tell us
We can't do it
We succumb to the people of today who
Are quick to judge and label us without
Giving us a chance to even plead our innocence
Stripoed of our rights to prove ourselves
That we aren't villians nor bad guys
We're faced with threats that tell us we're
Guilty and should have it carved in our brains

But it doesn't have to be that way

We can stand up and use our voice
So powerful it can break past the chains
That hold it down

We can prove ourselves right
With the courage and confidence
Our mind has and never lacked

We can stop the labels
By showing others
We aren't bothered by what we are called
Because we know who we are
And they don't ever tell us who we're supposed
To be

Even though we're blamed, we can break
Past it

Although we're blamed, it doesn't matter:
We have a voice
A voice that can truly depict as
Right or wrong

And we don't need anyone to tell us, to label us
